STAMPtember 2021 - Whimsy Stamps Exclusive

Happy Monday my lovely crafty friends!  I am really very please to be able to share this post with you and introduce you to Whimsy Stamps' exclusive stamp and die set for Simon Says Stamps 2021 STAMPTember!  What!? After being such a big fan of this event year after year, to be a small part of it seems a little surreal!!

Meet "Just Chicken In". Such a fun, fun set.  You can purchase the Stamp and Die Set together or if you wish, just the Clear Stamp Set on it's own. These are limited edition, while supplies last and I can tell you from experience, if you want these, don't hesitate or you will find that they will be SOLD OUT.

To create my card, I used the images in the Just Chicken In Clear Stamp Set.  The Die Set makes it super easy to get them all cut out, or you can just fussy cut them if you are the patient type.  I stamped them onto Copic X-Pressit Paper using Intense Black Dye Ink from SSS.

I colored the images using these Copic Markers:
YR02, YR04, YR20, YR23, YR30, YR31, Y000, Y11, Y21, R02, R14, R32, R35, R37, R46, BG70, BG63, E70, E71, E74, E77, E79, 0

You absolutely do not need all these markers!  I used lots of shades of yellow so that my wee chicks and the chickens would all be slightly different.  If you have a limited supply of markers, you can still get them all colored!  I did add some white detail with a gel pen.

In addition, I used some other Whimsy Stamps Dies to create my card.  My card base is Kraft cardstock cut to a Slimline size of 3.5" x 8.5".  I then used the Slimline Connected Rectangles Die to cut out both light grey and dark grey cardstock.  I used the dark grey for the frame and the light grey for the small rectangle inserts.  I also measured the size of the openings and cut that size out of white woodgrain paper.  That is what you see in the background of each of the three rectangles.  For the wire on each of these rectangles, I diecut the light grey cardstock using one of the dies in the Slimline Chicken Coop Die Set.  I then adhered all these components together using Gina K Connect Glue.  Something that is a recent purchase for me and it had really become the first thing I reach for. It is that good!

I created the hay by using a die in the Slimline Chicken Coop Die Set and cutting it out of yellow cardstock which I then added lines using the YR23 copic marker. The sentiment was white embossed onto a piece of black cardstock and then cut out using one of the dies in the Simple Sentiment Strips Die Set.  I then glued everything on and by card was done!
