Friday Sketchers

Happy Friday! I have my card for this week’s Friday Sketchers to show you today. It was Inge’s turn to host our challenge and as usual her sketch is fabulous and full of different layers!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 137

Once again, I have used the gorgeous paper from Graphic 45. I wish I had bought more of these! The charming image is from Motivet and was colored with my handy dandy Copic Sketch Markers. The sentiment is by Whiff of Joy. I am so in love with the new dies and sentiments that I think I have used them on most of my cards lately!

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.  As always they are stunning!

Sketch Saturday ~ Halloween

Happy Saturday! My children are beyond excited about Halloween! I am hoping that tomorrow will be a “spooktacular” night to go Trick or Treating! The weather forecast keeps changing! My eldest feels that he is to “old” to go out this year. He is after all 12 years old! LOL! He will stay with my hubbie and hand out the treats and I will take Darth Vader and Buzz Lightyear to collect treats around our neighbourhood.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 132

This is my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday challenge. I have had this sweet Motivet image “Bat on a Pumpkin” colored up for a while now but finally the right sketch came around to showcase it! I am still using up all my bits of Hallowe’en scrap paper. It never seems to end! The sentiment is from a Stampin’ Up set.

I hope you can play along with us over at Sketch Saturday this week. This week’s challenge is sponsored by our generous regular sponsor: The Craft Barn

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday # 124

Happy Sunday! I am here with my Sketch Saturday card. I used the new digital images from Motivet stamps.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 220

Isn’t this background gorgeous? After coloring it up I added a ton of stickles to the snowy areas. I thought that these caroling kittens were perfect to add to the scene!

The paper is once again pieces from my scrap drawer. These ones were part of an  old Cosmo Cricket pad.

Motivet also has amazing digital personalized stamps! I forgot to photograph mine on the back of this card but here are a few samples:

Aren’t these amazing?

Thanks for stopping by and heartfelt wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends! I have a lot of cooking prep to do today so that tomorrow I will have more time to spend with the family! Of course we will be having roasted turkey and stuffing with yummy mashed potatoes and gravy! I also will be serving a baked cauliflower dish, fresh corn and home-made dinner rolls. The rolls I will make today along with a pumpkin pie and an apple pie! Yummy!

Before I forget, Sketch Saturday is generously being hosted by:

I hope you will find the time to play along!

One Card/Two Looks ~ Sketch Saturday Week #120

Happy Saturday! Once again it is time to show you the card I made for the Sketch Saturday Challenge. Our wonderful sponsor this week is:

For my card, I used one of Motivet Stamps’ new releases. It is a wonderful scenery stamp called “Old Tree Scenery” and it was so much fun to color in! After I colored it up with my sketch markers, I lightly dabbed at the leaves in the trees with a piece of cloth and some colorless blender. This gave it such a great textured look. The sentiment is by Verve stamps and I used a Papertrey die and stamp set to create the fun tag. The paper is OLD Stampin’ Up. I loved this series of DP so much that when it became available a while back as a special clearance item , I bought two more packs! I have decided to stop hoarding it and use it! LOL!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 178

At the back of my mind as I was creating this card, I was thinking that this would make an awesome background to one of the new Magnolia Bon Voyage stamps. I think that these two stamps are a match made in heaven and I bet that many of our cute little Tildas would look magical with this background!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 179

So, hence my title “One card/Two Looks”. Thanks for stopping by today. I so very much appreciate that people come and take a look at my little creations! Have a great weekend!

Double Friday Challenge

Happy Friday! I have two cards to show you today but this will be a short and sweet post. This back-to-school week is a lot of work! LOL!

My first card is for this week’s Friday Sketchers Challenge. It is the lovely Inge’s turn to host this week and she has created one of her signature sketches with many fabulous layers. What fun I had with this one!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 173

This is one of Motivet’s new Fall images: Cat with Candy bag and I have been dying to color this cutie up! I used my Copic Sketch markers and then added the background with some chalk. The papers are all old SU! that I have had for awhile but were perfect for this mulit-layer sketch. My gorgeous crochet ribbon is from Stamp & Create and the sentiment is from a SU! set. The little candy sticker is from the $ store.

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog. We are being sponsored by Motivet Stamps this week! The winner of this week’s Friday Sketchers will get to pick 3 unmounted Rubberstamps in our store (sets are excluded).

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 162

My second card is for this week’s Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge which is “GLITTER”. Not too hard for me! I used one of the new fairy releases. This one is named after my dear friend Lacey! I added lots of stickles to her wings and I use my Tim Holtz die to cut out these flourishes out of glittered paper. I created my bow using my bow-easy and some gorgeous silk ribbon.

I hope you get the chance to play in our challenge! As always the lucky winner will get a free Wags “n Whiskers stamp of their choice. Don’t forget to visit the rest of the Divas to see their wonderful creations!

Have a great weekend!

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ High Hopes Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :) Today I have two projects to show you! The first one is for the Stamp & Create Spotlight which for the second week is the High Hopes Dustin Pike images. I said it last week and I will say it again this week; they are quirky, humorous and cute and my go-to stamps when I have to make a card for a “boy” no matter what age!

Once again this week, Stamp & Create will be offering the Dustin Pike stamps at 25% off.  What a great time to add the couple that have been on your wish-list! Please check the challenge blog to see the other wonderful creations made by the other DT members. They are sure to bring a smile to your face!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 157

This week I used a stamp that I having been wanting to use for some time. This one is called “Birthday Fish” and for a change of pace, I colored him up with my Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS. Whenever I use Dustin Pike images I go with a clean and simple layout and today is no exception. Just to keep the card from being too plain, I added this sweet mini pom-pom ribbon in ivory! I added a little bit of stickles to the bubbles in the balloon. You can see it better in this photo.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 156

My second project is actually my creation for the High Hopes Challenge. I should have had it posted yesterday but my day got away from me! LOL! I think it is a good thing )blog-wise) that Summer is drawing to a close. I promise to be more dependable!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 158

The challenge was to make “anything but a card” and so I immediately thought that I could use this cutie “Little Reader” and make a bookmark for my middle son! He is onto his second book in the series of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”.  He is enjoying reading and is laughing while he does so I am not going to complain.

The bookmark was easy-peasy to make. I just used my nesties to create the circles and and cut two of the red scalloped ones. I then used the score-pal tape to adhere the giant paperclip in between the two scallops. It will be sure to stay secure if you use score-pal tape!

The image took very little time to color and I added some glossy accents to the lenses in his glasses! The smile on my little guy’s face when I gave it to him made my day!

Sweet Motivet Fairy ~ Friday Sketchers Challenge #

Happy Friday! Thank you for stopping by today! I hope your week was a great one and that you will have a fun-filled week-end. The Summer has just flown by and soon all my boys will be heading off to school so we are trying to take advantage of every minute left of summer break. All this to say that I have not been blogging very much at all and have not been commenting either. I hope you understand :)

This week at Friday Sketchers, dear Aud has come up with a wonderful sketch that simply inspired me! I have had this lovely Motivet fairy image for a little while now and it was with great delight that I finally inked her up and colored her! Isn’t she sweet?

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 142

I colored her with copic markers and then added tons of stickles to her wings and those of the butterfly. I created the blue shadow around her with a prismacolor pencil and OMS. I love the way it glows around her. The flower was originally white but I airbrushed it with the same colors as her dress and the flower in her hair so that they would tie in together.

The little corner frames were made with a Cuttlebug die and some glittery paper. The die was part of a set of 4 that I found at Walmart! I added a tiny adhesive gem to each one. It just finishes it off perfectly and I am glad that I thought of doing it. Sometimes I think of things AFTER they are photographed and I am loading them into my post! LOL!

    motivet

OMGosh! I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with these adorable stamps and be part of their tremendously talented DT! I received my package a couple of days ago and it didn’t take long before I had this one inked up! Thanks Stephanie :)

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 071

How sweet is this? This cutie reminds me of my boys. This is a favorite pass-time for them right now. It takes ages to walk to and from school with them as they keep stopping to pick these! When their little faces light up as they watch the dandelion fluff blow away, I forget that they are just weeds…….I see how magical they really are! This image was perfect for sweet Tanja’s wonderful sketch for this week’s Friday Sketchers. I pulled out some pastel paper from SU! to match my copic coloring and added some stickles to the dandelion seeds/fluff.
