Whimsy Stamps–Thanks for Lifting Me Up + Video

Happy Wednesday! Are you like me and trying really hard to catch up with how quickly the weeks are flying by? I can’t believe that Easter is almost here! I have so much to do!

I did however, find some time to play with some of the awesome stamps and dies from Whimsy Stamps! I created this sweet card and made a start to finish video for you at the same time.

I tried out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I bought them last December and really haven’t had the chance to really work with them. I think I am getting the hand of them and felt ready to share my coloring technique with them.

When you watch the video, you will see that I had a little inky mishap with the Archival ink and my mask. The ink transferred over when I was creating the background rays. EEK! I was able to salvage it and you can barely tell now. Just wanted to keep it real so you know that you don’t have to pitch your project and start over…. a little creative masking and you are good to go!

Watercoloring Video

Happy Tuesday! Here is the first part of a two part video that I filmed awhile back. I had some request for a watercoloring video and so I finally was able to get it filmed, edited and published to You-tube! I broke it up into 2 parts because it is long! Like, really long but that is the reality (at least for me) with watercoloring. It takes a while but is really relaxing!

The finished card looked like this:

Distress Ink colors used: Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Weathered Wood, Frayed Burlap.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be posting the second part tomorrow.  If you have any other video requests, just leave it in the comments below!

Coloring with Twinkling H20s ~ Video Tutorial

Happy Thursday Everyone! I have a two part video for you today. I show you my method for coloring with Twinkling H20s….those delicious little pots of color and shimmer!

As I say in the video, I am by no means an expert. I am just sharing the technique I use. I have broken the video up into two so that I could load them in HD for you. I have been asked NOT to speed up the videos as I have done in the past. Hope it is not too long now :) Enjoy!

Whiff of Joy POM

Jeanette Bobonniere Wedding Box

I can’t believe it is already August. It is time once again for the WoJ POM or Project of the Month. For August, our task was to create a wedding favor. Here in Québec we call them “bonbonnières” and it is a pretty little gift that the bride & groom give to each guest towards the end of the evening as a way of thanking them for sharing their special day.

I decided to create a little decorative box in which some specialty chocolate could be placed in. I used one of the amazing Papertrey Timeless Templates. I did modify the front flap by using a Martha Stewart punch to give it a more romantic look. I used just a portion of the Wedding Carriage stamp because the little bride& groom were the perfect size to fit onto the front. Here you can see the inside:

Bonbonniere Wedding Box - open

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Women’s Delight Wedding Carriage & Wedding Sentiment
  • Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Encore metallic for sentiment
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, Papertrey Aqua, MME DP
  • Coloring: Distress Inks, Twinkling H20s
  • Embellies: Papertrey Ribbon, May Arts Ribbon, SU Brad and Filigree , Hero Arts Pearls
  • Template: Papertrey Purse-onality Clutch

The other DT members have prepared gorgeous creations! Whew they are fantastic. You can see them all right here!

Thanks for stopping by. I have more fun things to share with you in the next few days so I hope you will stop by again!
