Rejoice

Happy Tuesday my dear friends! The countdown to Christmas is very rapidly ticking away, is it not?  I am in full Christmas mode.  I am trying to get my cards sorted and mailed out, making batches of cookies and working on my December Daily album for this year.

Every year, I try to make an extra special full 6x8 page for the very first page of the album. I usually use digital images as I can super-size them to exactly fit the page and if I am a little last minute, digital images are almost instantly available!

Here is this year's first page:

I used digital images from Sweet November along with some older digital papers from Whimsy Stamps to create this page.  While the digital papers that I used are now retired, I did find currents ones that would give a very similar look.  They are all linked below.  By using digital images for the backgrounds, the only part of the page that I colored was the angel, the stone archway as the manger.

I used these Copic Markers:

E00, E00, E11, BV00, R20, R22, R00, E50, YR30, YR31, YR23, YR34, E31, E33, E35, C00, C1, C3, 0

I added some Gold Wink of Stella pen to the halo.  The star and  Rejoice sentiment are both from Simon Says Stamp and were die-cut from gold metallic foiled paper.

Dragon Wishes

Happy Tuesday my lovelies! It is pretty cold over here.  Winter seems to be just around the corner!

I have a new Christmas card to share with you featuring an adorable Dustin Pike dragon.  There were two sets released by Whimsy this month and this one is from the Dragon Wishes Clear Stamp Set. The image was stamped onto Copic paper with Memento London Fog and then colored with Copic Markers.  I paired it with some paper from the new Tartan 6x6 Paper Pack and created a fun slim-line card.

The "Merriest Wishes" sentiment is included in the stamp set and was stamped using Versafine Black Onyx ink.  I added some glitter to the groudn below the dragone using some Nuvo Glitter Drops.

To create the banner, I used the word "Christmas" from the Slimline Vertical Sentiments Set and fussy cut each of them out before adhering them to the card.  I drew a wire to connect them all using a very fine pencil.  Originally, I was going to use the sentiment in the vertical position but I didn't like how it looked so I opted for this way which I really love.  It took some time to fussy cut but it was worth it!

Snow Couple's Season's Greetings

Happy Friday!  Christmas is right around the corner but I thought I would stop by here and  share a simple festive card with you!

A quick and easy card to whip up if you need another card in a hurry! I used light blue card-stock to create an A2 sized card. I then lightly sponged the top portion of the card with some Blueprint Sketch Distress oxide to create a quick sky.  I used white card-stock and the Mountain Majesty Die Set as well as one of the dies in the Stitched Border Die Trio to create the background.

The sweet image is a digital image named Snow Couple.  I was able to size it to fit right into my little scene.  I colored it up with various copic markers before fussy cutting it out.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful holiday season. I hope that you enjoy every minute of it!

Getting Ready for Christmas!!!

Happy Friday my lovelies! Yes, I am that person. I am already starting to dream about Chrismas and my December Daily album for this year! If you have followed me for a while, you know that I love, love to incorporate my papercrafting and stamping with my December Daily album to create a unique and personal album that documents our Christmas together as a family.

As I am getting to be an old pro about things now, I start ordering the products NOW to make sure that I am not scrambling at the last moment. As soon as I saw the new Lawn Fawn release, I eagerly contemplated which products I should get. I keep in mind that I need to think about what I already have and how I can make old sets work with the new ones.

Last year started sharing which products I was going to be using for my annual Christmas Video series. A lot of you told me that you liked knowing in advance so that if you were inspired by my creations, you would have the products available so that you could make some too!

Without furthur ado, here are the Lawn Fawn products that I have just purchased and some that I already have and will be combining to use this season!

Have a great day and weekend! I will be working on some Halloween projects this weekend.(never papercrafitng the season I am currently in)

Lawn Fawn Mini Craft Haul

Happy Tuesday! It seems like I am doing a WHOLE lot of shopping these days. Companies are releasing their Fall & Christmas collections for 2016 and there are so many delightful collections. I wanted to share the stamp and die sets that I recently purchased for my Christmas cards and my December Daily album!

Here is a short video. At the end I compare last year’s Toboggan Together set and this year’s Cheery Christmas and Snow Cool sets. There are some similar stamps in the sets and I compared them before I bought them. In the end, the idea of combining them to create unique creations was what won we over. That, and the fact that I couldn’t resist the string of lights in one and the snow penguin in the other! Lawn Fawn knows what it is doing!

Whimsy Fair Isle Card & Tags + Video

Happy Monday! I have another Whimsy Video to share with you today. This time around I used just a few simple products to create some clean and simple cards and tags. Perfect for this time of the year and these could EASILY be massed produced!

DSC_0239 copy

The Scandi Christmas Stamp set is absolutely GORGEOUS! I am totally in love with it and the endless combinations that are possible because this set has so many cute images! You can easily change up the look by using a different combination of stamps from the set. Since they are clear, it is very easy to get them line up straight. I used the grid-lines on my acrylic mounting blocks as well as the lines on my cutting mat to get everything line up perfectly!

After filming the video, I went ahead and made 3 more cards…..totally addictive!

Whimsy Penguin Shaker Card + Video

Happy Monday! I have a fun, interactive shaker card to share with you today as well as an accompanying video sharing how I created it from start to finish.

My card feature some products from Whimsy Stamps’ October 20158 release.

DSC_0007_edited-1

The focal image is Penguins Carrying Tree and is a rubber stamp from the October release. How sweet is this image? I love the sense of movement and so making a shaker card was a fun way to showcase these sweet penguins. I colored the tree up using fine strokes with my Copic Markers. In the video I will show you how to do this to create the look of pine needles.

DSC_0008_edited-1

To create a nice scene, I used the Stitched Border dies to create some snow banks and the new clear, polymer set Snowflake wishes to emboss snowflakes onto some blue cardstock. I later went in with a fine-tipped, white Sharpie Poster Paint pen to create some falling snow. I used a sentiment from the same set and stamped it in Hero Arts Soft Pool ink.

DSC_0005_edited-1

I added two colors of sequins and then for a little extra flurry of snow, some fine glitter. I ran my embossing buddy over both the acetate and the scene so that the fine glitter wouldn’t stick permanently to them. A little tap and the glitter falls to the bottom :)

Merry Christmas xoxo

Happy December 24th! It is Christmas Eve and we were all awoken by the smallest one early this morning to be told the news :)

All that needed to get done is done. There were things on my list that didn’t get done but I am not going to stress about that. Mainly crafty projects that will be deferred to next year!

Here is one last Holiday Project for you with a video. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

One last post for 2013

Happy Saturday my lovelies! You may have noticed that my blog has been a wee bit abandoned these last few weeks. We went away on vacation, returning just in time to host our family at our home for Christmas.

I had the very best intentions to have my blog run smoothly without a blip, but in the end, I got way too busy and didn’t get the chance to update here. There was a mountain of things to get done prior to leaving. All my Christmas shopping was done and wrapped. All the cards were mailed out and I baked things in advance that could be frozen. For my paper-crafting, I had to work ahead and get all my DT work done, photographed and mailed out. For Whiff of Joy, I had to get everything organized for the team so that our 16 Days of Christmas Stocking events would run smoothly. Boy, did I need the vacation….we all did.

Quality family-time is super important to us and so spending this time away with the kids at a beautiful beach resort in Jamaica was something we worked very hard to achieve. It was a time of total disconnect from any phones or computers and I think this is the best way to ensure you are totally enjoying every second you have on vacation. We laughed so hard and played equally as hard and took time to discover as much as we could about the marine life we saw while snorkelling. I learnt that the very strange and unusual fish that I was so intrigued by was in fact a barracuda. OOPS. Good thing it was only a small one. My littlest one mastered the act of snorkelling and learnt that it probably is better not to talk while your head is under water and even better to remember to keep the tube ABOVE water. LOL! We met a lot of interesting and fun people. Both visitors to the resort like us as well as the people who worked at the resort. Such a great experience to talk with people from all over the world. Yah mahn! I think we heard that a million times. We even started saying it! The rooms were beautiful and we could see the beach from our ground level balcony. The food was amazing, and there was so much variety.

I never really let on when we go away on vacation. I am cautious that way. In the same way that I am cautious about posting personal photos of my family. I do have a few photos that I can share of our glorious week away in Jamaica. We sailed, we snorkelled and hubby and the eldest water-skied. The other boys were too young and I was too chicken know my limitations. An all-inclusive resort made it so very relaxing and a tad decadent, but definitely worth it! Here is just a snippet. The one of me was taken by my middle son who requested I pose in that way. He liked the way my hair looked and so how could I say no? It was funny that I agonized for months about dying my hair a darker color. I finally did and one week in Jamaica basically lightened it right back!

And here is a band that came and played one night. I don’t know how they do it, but it was fantastic. This is not my video but one that I found on You-tube.

So, in the New Year I will have new things to post and share. For now I will wish you a very happy and prosperous 2014 and leave you with a photo of my youngest son’s teddy cuddling Acer who is our Elf on the Shelf. He left us Christmas eve to go back home with Santa.
