Pink {Ink} & Sketch Saturday Challenges

Happy Saturday! Thanks for stopping by today! I have two cards to show you!

The first card is for this week’s Pink {Ink} Challenge. Natalie has created a lovely sketch for us all to follow and we are being sponsored by In2stamps.

Woj Gnome in Wreath copy

I have used one of the sweet gnomes that were released last month from Whiff of Joy. Such a sweet image and such fun to color. I used paper from Basic Grey’s Eskimo Kisses paper pad and finally had enough courage to try to make my own paper flower. It was actually so easy to make using one of WoJ’s new dies. I can’t believe that I waited so long to try it out :)

Here are some links for you:

My next card Is for this week’s Sketch Saturday Challenge. We are being sponsored by the wonderful Craft Barn and they are giving away a fabulous prize this week. Don’t miss it!

This card features one of the new Magnolia stamps from the Sweet Christmas Dreams 2011 Collection. I am so happy that Stamp & Create is now carrying them! I really {heart} this new collection!

Magnolia 2011 Bell copy

I colored this sweetie up to match the fabulous papers from my new Simple Stories paper pad. This is my new favorite. I adore this color palette for Christmas cards and each and every sheet in this pack is perfection! I sponged with some Forest Moss Distress ink and the little filigree piece is from Wild Orchid Crafts. I couldn’t resist picked up a pack of these. They are lovely. I added some pretty ribbon and twine to the bottom and then some Liquid Pearls to my trees to complete my card. Sigh……happy with how this one turned out!

That’s it for me! I hope you have a fabulous rest of the day!

Pink Ink Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday! Today I am sharing my card for this fortnight’s Pink Ink Sketch Challenge.  We are being sponsored by Shop Pumpkin Spice. I have used another of the gorgeous new stamps illustrated by Sylvia Zet from SCACD! These images are so sweet and such a joy to color! This one is named Hope.

SCACD Music Box copy

I know that pink is not a “traditional” Christmas color and this stamp isn’t really a Christmas image but in my mind, this was going to be a very girly and lovely Christmas card! LOL! I found some scraps of paper that had some pink poinsettias and this helped add to my theme! The roses are photographing a little dark than IRL. Sometimes it is a challenge to get all the components looking just right in your photo. They do match a whole lot better than they are showing!

I am entering this in this week’s Flutterby Wednesday as well: angel, butterfly or fairy and use your scraps.

Thanks for stopping by! I had a lovely day yesterday teaching my Copic Fur class….such lovely ladies :) It is pouring rain here…we are starting to decorate our home for Hallowe’en but I guess the outside items will have to wait until another (drier) day. We have a hockey game today as well!

Have a good one!

Catch-Up Sunday

Happy Sunday Everyone! I cannot believe it, but the whole family slept in this morning! I cannot believe that even the kids slept in! The youngest one was the first one up and he came into our room and announced that it was day-time and he was hungry! I think the rainy and cold weather played a part in our sleepiness, but it was indeed lovely to have a long lie-in like that!

I have sooooo much to show you that I don’t know where to start! So this is going to be a long and picture heavy post! Let’s get started.

First, I’d like to share with you by card for this week’s Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge. The sketch is by Erica  and we are being sponsored by Hobbyshop Nellie Snellen!

Tilda with Wreath copy

I have used this sweet Magnolia stamp that I have had for such a long time and hadn’t had the chance to ink up. I decided to color her with some traditional Christmas colors and create a Christmas card. I love that you can do this! The paper is Simple Stories 6x6  25 days of Christmas pad. I added some gorgeous iridescent taffeta ribbon from May arts to dress the card up a wee bit.

My second card today is for this week’s Sketch Saturday challenge and we are being sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps! I have used another of the Pink Ribbon images for my card. These images will be available come 4th of October and there are matching sentiments as well. All are $1 each ONLY for all of October and are only going to be available for a limited time. All sales will go straight to supporting Pink Ribbon Day. This one is called Lil Pinkette Charity.

TP Charity copy

For my third card, I am showcasing another of the Pink Ribbon images. This one is called Lil Lilith. I adore her strong attitude and I paired her up with one of the matching sentiments; “Fight like a Girl”.  I went for a simple, no fuss card and I am happy with how the image is showcased this way!

Pink Ribbon Lil Lilith copy

Finally, I have a card that was a commission for a friend. She wanted a wedding card for her sister. I of course reached for this sweet LOTV image and I used the sketch from this week’s Papertake Challenge.

LOTV Wedding copy

In this photo, you can see the matching envelobox that I created for the card and it has captured the shimmer on her dress!

Have a great rest of the day! I am off now to see my son play hockey!

Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge Week # 4

I am back with a second post today :) I am excited to share the new Pink {Ink} Sketch for this fortnight! Our host this time is Kristy and she has prepared a wonderful sketch for us to all play with and the winners from week # 3 and top 3 have been posted. Week #4’s will be posted a little later on.

This weeks sketch is sponsored by...

Some Odd Girl is a spunky company that brings you both Digital Stamps and Clear Stamps to bring some fun to your crafting. With new images every month there's always something Odd and new going on.

Some Odd Girl is sponsoring this challenge with 3 digis of the winner's choice from their shop!

For my card, I decided to color up another one of the LOTV images that I purchased a wee while back. Love these teddies for cards for my boys and my nephews! They truly capture the magical imagination that our little ones have!

LOTV bear boat box full copy

As per usual, I have colored the image up with my Copic Sketch markers and then added some background shadows with prismacolor pencil crayons and OMS. The paper is MME Lime Twist. I have used the full 12 x 12 sheets but was thrilled to see that Lacey has the small 6x6 pads in-stock over at her store Stamp & Create. Perhaps one slipped into my shopping cart…..shh….I am not supposed to be buying any more paper ;) I did a little stitching around the edges. Love that it takes so little time yet really makes the card that extra bit special.

The image panel was created with Label 18 Spellbinder dies and the tabs underneath were made with a PTI die. The sentiment is also by PTI and the adorable buttons are by Doodebug and they were sewn on with some bakers twine. I added some adhesive rhinestones from my stash to add a little more interest. It was looking a little bare.

LOTV Teddy Box boat copy

Here is the sketch. I really hope you can join in with us this week!

I also want to enable you let you know about a great sale going on right now!

Stamp and Create is having a Labour Day Sale from now until Monday.

10% off everything in the store when you use discount code

laborday (all one word-all lowercase).

That is it for me. I have a bunch of things to get ready for tomorrow! Busy Busy! I will be back to share my SS card with you later tomorrow or Sunday and I will have a coloring video up on the Whiff of Joy Tutorial & Inspiration blog. You asked, and I listened. I hope you all will like it :)

Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge #4

My first card is for Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge’s 4th challenge. I just want to send out a HUGE thank-you to everyone who participated in our last challenge which I hosted! I was able to get to everyone’s blog and leave some love for you all and I was just amazed by all the gorgeous interpretations that were out there. That is what I LOVE about blogging…..so many beautiful styles of card-making, coloring mediums and amazing products!

Okay, I am chatty today aren’t I? Let me get back on track here and show you my card which I made using Cheri’s awesome sketch!

Watermarked-for-Blog-WoJ-August---Pa

I have used some stamps from Whiff of Joy’s new Fall Kit! It is an amazing kit full of the most divine Princess stamps! Now, don’t be sad if you didn’t order the kit (but learn from your mistake and pre-order the winter one, okay?) because these stamps will be available to purchase individually as of September 1st.

Watermarked-for-Blog-WoJ-August---Pa[3]

This second shot shows you the effect of the Twinkling H20s that I used over on top of my Copic marker coloring. I just took the photo from another angle. It is a really pretty effect and adds so much to your card. I used Autumn Skies and Sunflower.

My papers are all from my scrap drawer and aren’t even from the same company! I have some DCWV, MME and one unknown! The ribbon is from SU! and the brad is Whiff of Joy as is the sentiment.

Hope you can join in our challenge for this fortnight. Our prize is being sponsored by our very own Cheri’s company: Graphicat Designs.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

LaLa Land Craft Challenge Cards

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope your week was a great one and that you have some fun plans for the weekend….or you plan to just cosy up in your craft nook and play!

We have a ton of sports activities for the kids and a fun BBQ to go to. Sounds like a fun and action packed weekend to me. I probably won’t get too much time to craft but that’s okay. The kids are soon back to school so I want to spend as much time relaxing with them!

My card is for this week’s  La-LaLand Crafts Inspiration Friday. Our challenge this week was to create a Christmas card or ornament.

Every Monday and Friday La-La Land Crafts new Design Team will be bringing you a new inspirational theme. You are more than welcome to play along as we would love to see your creations with La-La Land Craft stamps. Please link your projects to our Customer Gallery.

Pink Ink Sketch Challenge ~ My Turn to Host

Happy Friday! Thanks for the response to our Pink Ink Sketch Challenge! I am so excited to see how many of you have participated. I know the Summer is a difficult time to play in challenges or just craft in general, so Thank-You!

This week it is my turn to host and provide a sketch for you to play with! I am delighted that we have two sponsors for this fort-night! Whoot! Whoot! That means two winners!

We have both Whiff of Joy stamps and Wags ‘n Whiskers as our sponsors! Can’t get any better than that!

Watermarked for Blog - Page 009

I have used one of the newly released Whiff of Joy stamps for my card today. I totally love this image named: Looking for Adventures! I love the sheer exuberance on little Henry’s face as he races along through the mud in his jeep!

Watermarked for Blog - Page 008

I pulled out some old, old Basic Grey paper from their Archaic pad and was so happy with the color palette. I added some machine stitching, net ribbon and some Woj Pearl brads. I used metal dies from WoJ as well: Dancing Hearts, Romantic Swirls, and Romantic Swirls 2. The fun sentiment is from the You are my Hero sentiment set.

Here is my sketch and I hope you get the opportunity to play along. I always love to see what you all will create!

Have a great day!

***to see my La-La Land Craft post for today, please scroll one post down***

Happy Friday! WOW! Thanks for the response to our first Pink Ink Sketch Challenge! You certainly wowed us with your gorgeous creations and your wonderful comments were so very much appreciated. Our winners and top 3 will soon be posted over at the Pink Ink Sketch blog!

Now, onto our next challenge. Today’s sketch is by the amazing Kellie and her store Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring the prize for this fortnight! Can’t ask for anything better than that!

july 2011 - Page 209

I fell in love with this sweet TP image the moment that I saw it. Her name is Lil Little Lolita Ivy. She reminds me so much of Alice in Wonderland! I used some of my current favourite paper: October Afternoon’s School Collection. I love the color combo and of course used it to help choose my copic markers.

july 2011 - Page 210

I tied some PTI gingham ribbon just for a little contrast and the sentiment was created with a MFT stamp and die set and Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup ink.

Here is the sketch for you to play with. Remember this is a bi-weekly challenge so you have loads of time to join in!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I have a ton of things to do. My little one is turning 6 next week and I am having a Birthday BBQ for him this Sunday. I want to go and tidy up the gardens but this heat wave we are having is CRAZY! All I can cope with is watering early in the morning before it gets too hot. Yesterday it was 41 C with the humidex factor!

Pink Ink Sketch Challenge Week #1 ~ A Blog Hop

**I have 3 posts going live today, please scroll down to find my LaLaLand and Tickled Pink posts**

Happy Friday! Today we are launching our first Pink Ink Sketch Challenge and we are doing it in style with a blog hop and multiple prizes! I am really excited about our new challenge. I am so a sketch person. It is the thing that starts off my creative process and I hope that you all will have fun playing along in our challenges!

We have 5 amazing sponsors for this our first challenge: Whiff of Joy stamps, Tickled Pink Stamps, Whimsy Stamps, Love to Stamp and Graphicat Designs! Wow! Talk about starting off with a bang!

For your chance to win you will need to enter the sketch challenge and also leave a comment on all of our blogs on the hop!

If you haven’t come here from the lovely Jane’s blog, then you’ll to go there first to start the hop!

TP 2011 - Page 192

Jane started us off with an amazing sketch and I just had to use this amazing Dancing Willow stamp from Whiff of Joy! She embodies exactly how I feel today and I HAD to make an all pink card too!

TP 2011 - Page 191

Willow was colored using Copic Sketch Markers. I added stickles to her pearls for a little bling and also went over her ribbon, purse and shoes with Coral Berry Twinkling H20s. I cut her out with an oval Spellbinders die and then masked her off. I then used Spun Sugar Distress ink to stamp a Heroes Arts stamp over on top and then lightly sponged the edges with the same ink. I used the same ink and background stamp to create my sentiment. The “celebrate” sentiment, stamp frame and the fancy shape die I used to cut it out are also from Whiff of Joy. I also used the Dancing Hearts border die to create a fancy edge around my mats. I used both the positive and the negative shape that it cut.

TP 2011 - Page 193

The flowers were made with felt and a die, both from MFT stamps. The little leaves were made with a Martha Stewart punch. I didn’t have the right tone of pink ribbon so I took some white ribbon binding and colored it with the darkest pink Copic marker that I had used when I was coloring Willow’s dress. I love how it exactly matches the ribbon on her dress now! The papers, believe it or not, are all little scraps from different companies but they look really pretty together! I also attached 2 pearl brads from WoJ to the left side of the card. It looked like it needed a little extra something. Okay, one more view! LOL!

TP 2011 - Page 194

So, now it is time to hop on over to the next stop on the blog hop which is the fabulous Kathrin!

Enjoy the hop, don’t forget to leave comments on each stop for a chance to win and I really hope that you can play along with us this week! I look forward to seeing your creations!
