Stamp and Create

Happy Canada day to my fellow Canadians. We didn’t go out to celebrate because it rained (poured) pretty much of the whole day :( At least we were able to see the fireworks last night. So, to the great happiness of my children, we cleared out the toy room. What a big job but it had to be done. It looks fantastic and we have a dedicated Lego work area and storage for my youngest. Yippee. No more Lego vs. bottom of feet mishaps. Plus, we have a ton of things that we can donate to make some other youngster happy!

So enough of all that. I have my card for Stamp and Create to share with you today! I pulled out one of my oldest stamps that was re-released by another company. It was fun to color it up.

These are being discontinued and will not be restocked so grab them while you can.
Here is what is happening over at Stamp and Create!

“Over the summer, I will be taking a lot of time off to spend time with the kids.
Therefore, I will not be shipping as often as normal.
However, I have put a sale on everything in the store!!”
At least 20% off the entire store!

That is it for me. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Life is in the Little Things

Happy Thursday! I had a lovely day just puttering around. Tidying and taking care of the garden. The boys are totally in Summer mode and it is wonderful to be relaxing while they run around :)

My card today features an image by Elizabeth Bell. It is a digital one and is called Merry Weather.

My card is quite simple with just the ribbon and some adhesive gems for decoration. The image is colored with Copic Markers and the background was made using my Copic ABS. I did add a little clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to the water in the pond. The sentiment is from Verve stamps.

I am entering this in the EB World Challenge for June/July which has the theme: Anything Goes as well as the Papertake Weekly challenge which has the theme Trio-tastic. My trio are the embellishments: glitter pen, gems and ribbon :)

That’s it for me! Have a great rest of the day.

Wallet Tutorial

I was asked quite a bit about the wallet that I made for my blog candy. I was inspired when I saw some small ones for the Double Dutch challenge. I knew I wanted something a little bit bigger so I came up with this. I am making another one for my son to organize his piano practicing! This is my very first tutorial so if it is not clear, please let me know so I can improve!

To start you will need:
  • 1 piece of double-sided designer paper (A) cut to measure 6" x 12"
  • 1 piece of double-sided designer paper (B) cut to measure 10" x 12"
  • Scor-Pal (not a necessity but certainly will make the task easier)
  • Double-sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Corner RounderPaper Trimmer

1. Place Designer Paper (A) so tht the longer length is horizontal. Score at 6". This will be the main part of your wallet.

2. Fold Designer Paper (A) in half and round the two upper corners with your corner rounder.

3. Place Designer Paper (B) in your Scor-Pal so that the shorter side runs horizontally and the longer side runs vertically. Score at 1", 5", 9".

4. Rotate DP (B) so that the longer side now runs horizontally. Score at 6".

5. Fold all the crease lines as shown. Snips the middle of the tabs on both sides. See arrow on photo.

6. Round the corners of each side of each of the 4 tabs. See the arrows in the photo.

7. Place DP(B) so that the shorter length runs horizontally. Tape along the top and bottom lengths excluding the tabs.

8. Slide Designer Paper A into Designer Paper B as shown. Press down firmly to adhere the sides together.

9. Glue down the tabs and press down. See arrows on photo. Do this for all tabs (front & back)

10. Here is my finished wallet. Hopefully my instructions were okay and now you have one of your very own. I added a couple of flourishes and this cute knight & dragon duo from Elzybells

Here is the inside. My 7 year old son has just started his piano lessons. He is learning how to read the musical notes so I have tucked his little cards with them in one pocket. I have placed a mini calender (I have one for each month - I'll just switch them). He can cross off the days that he practices. We pay per lesson so I can tuck the money into the other pocket safe & sound!

I have already given it to him and he loves it. Now my older son is asking for one. He is starting his 4th year with the violin! Who knows what our third son will play!
