Happy Friday! It snowed yesterday and although there is not a lot of accumulation, what did fall is still there and the roads are icy. I had gotten out the mittens, tuques, boots and scarves as well as the sturdy winter coats. All was in readiness.....and still we were all shocked by the sudden blast of cold and snow!
These sweet mice are helping me forget how cold it is outside. T
he Very Mice Clear Stamp set is such a fun and versatile stamp set. So far, this is my second card using the set but I already have some ideas on how to style these mice in some outdoor scenes! Stay tuned for that!
I stamped the images using Memento London Fog ink so that I get a softer look. The lines tend to fade out a little bit once you start to add color. I usedCopic Markers and then went over some of the areas with colored pencils to deepen some of the shadows. Always use your pencils after your copics, otherwise you will ruin your copic markers. I used some non-traditonal Christmas colors but I really do love how these shades look together.
After coloring the mice, I masked them and added the background by blending on various distress inks. I have been using new blending brushes and they honestly are such a game changer! I love the soft and even blend that is so easily achieved!
I cut out the scene using one of the dies in the
Rounded Rectangle die set. I then adhered it to my cardbase with this sweet patterned paper mat. I had some tiny button brads in my stash (they must be at least 10 years old) and I thought they were a nice tie in to the buttons in the image.
Thanks so much for swinging by!
Hugs Jeanette xxo
