Ellie’s Question

Happy Tuesday! I am posting two days in a row….please do not fall down.  I managed to carve out a dedicated morning to preparing blog posts and I actually was able to work with a minimum of interruptions!

Today I have used the very sweet and slightly perplexed image: Ellie’s Question.  I am unsure as to what she might actually be questioning. Perhaps it was the wisdom of trying to get the star onto the treetop without any help!

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some Neenah Cardstock.  I used Copic Markers to color her up and also layered a bit of colored pencil overtop to add some more depth and highlights.  Then I diecut the image using the Basic Ovals Stitched Die Set, which I also used to diecut a green mat.  I really like the stitched detail around the edges.  It add a little more interest without becoming too fussy.

After I had the image diecut, I added some Glossy Accents to each of the Christmas baubles and whilst it was still wet, I sprinkled on some dry glitter.  I did this after diecutting so that they wouldn’t end up being squished down with the force of the rollers. I think that it adds such a nice bit of sparkle to the card.

I found some patterned paper with green Christmas trees that matched my image nicely and used that to fill out the rest of the card.  I diecut the Christmas Word die with white glitter paper and green cardstock and layered them together before adhering them to the card.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great rest of the day!
