Happy Monday and Bon St.Jean to everyone living in my neck of the woods. It is a holiday here in Québec – La Fête Nationale du Québec or Saint-Jean Baptiste day. It is a beautiful day and we have been relaxing and enjoying.
I have a new card to share with you today and this one was just naturally evolved into what you see here. I had no ideas of what I was going to create except that I knew that I wanted to do some no-line coloring. The new Baby Ellie Cuddles Rubber Stamp seemed perfect for this type of coloring technique. I wanted it to look soft and dreamy.
I stamped the image using Tattered Rose Distress ink. It is light enough that you don’t really notice it after the coloring is completed and you can actually soften it up whilst you are coloring and blend some of it into whatever color that you are using. I think that the paper that I used is one of the most important components. I never liked the result of coloring with these Zig Markers until I started using Bristol Smooth Cardstock. It is a real game changer. As just mentioned, I used Zig Real Brush Clean color markers. The markers used are listed below along with all the supplies.
Once my coloring was completed, I began to look through all my Whimsy Dies to look for something that would complement the image. I didn’t have to look far….the brand new Wavy Nested Frames Die Set was sitting right on my desk, ready to be used. It ended up being perfect.
Finally, for the sentiment I used the word “adored” from the You Are Clear Stamp Set. I didn’t want anything too fancy. I thought a grey strip of paper with a white embossed sentiment would suit the softness of the card while still adding a little pop. The final addition was a button and a wee piece of twine.
