Happy Thoughts & Inkspots: Whale Always Love You

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are having a great week! I have another fun card to share with you that features one of the new Whimsy release die sets for this month which I have paired up with some previous release. I really appreciate the care and thought that goes into each of these prodcuts. They are designed so that they add to the existing collection and enables you to get a lot of mileage out of each product.

.I have been trying to get this blog post written since this morning. So many interruptions!!! Let’s hope it will finally get done before I have to change my greeting from Tuesday to Wednesday! So, without furthur ado, let’s get started!

When I saw the new Up in the Clouds Die Set my first thought was: Beach. Perhaps because it has been a long winter, perhaps I really miss the ocean. Whatever the case, I decided to make a sweet ocean scene by combing the new set with my existing kinetic die sets: Kinetic Straight Basic Die Set, No See Basic Kinetic Die Set, Kinetic Straight Waves Die Set and the Whale of a Time Clear Stamp Set. To see how a kinetic card is put together, you can refer to this video that I made. It will give you a good idea of how to set up your card for success!

In this photo you can see that once the blue tab is pulled, the cute whale just slides along the ocean waves. The whale, sut and the starfish were all colored using vaious Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I love how soft the colors look when watercoloring. Be sure to use my favorite paper for watercoloring which is the Bristol Smooth Cardstock. It is a game-changer. The sky and the ocean were created by using Distress Oxide ink. I heat embossed the sentiment using white embsossing powder and I added white detail to the edges of athe waves with a white gel pen. Often, a small detail like this is what really elevates your card. The sun, bird and clouds were adhered using white foam dots to give a wee bit of dimension to the top of the card.
