Happy Tuesday! I have been planning out a Halloween and Christmas card series for this year. I have collected a bunch of stamps and dies that I want to showcase and today marks the first video in the Halloween Series!
My intention is that I can get these videos uploaded early enough so that you have a chance to use them to help you create your own cards. For that reason, they will be going up weekly instead of just going up continuously over a one week span. I also will be posted Christmas videos right along with the Halloween ones. I am trying this out for this year and I count on you guys to give me feedback on whether you liked it this way or not!
Let’s dive right in to my first Halloween card. Now, because I had purchased this way in advance with the intention of using it for my series, I was a little sad that MFT just announced that it is retiring this set! I am hoping that you will already have it, something similar to it or be able to get it at a local or online store! I apologize that it is going to be a little hard to find but I hope that even if you don’t have it, you will be able to use something similar to get the same look.
I really like the Birdie Brown line of stamps from MFT. I think that the character is super sweet and I love to color her up. I chose to create a sparkly background for her and the other creatures and pumpkins. To do this, I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi palette. I take you through how to do it in the video. It is super easy and the result is gorgeous.
I didn’t have the coordinating dies for this set so I had to fussy cut everything…..I am getting way too used to having those dies! For the sentiment, I decided to cut out a banner and embossed it with white embossing powder. The banner serves to anchor or ground the images and fills up that empty space on the lower left!
