Happy Halloween ~ Sketch Saturday

Sketch Saturdays - Page 129

Happy Halloween!

Hope your day is Spooktacular!

BWAH HA HA HA!

We are in full Halloween mode here at my home. We are decorated to the max, complete with spider webs all over our bushes and front entrance. Pumpkins have been gutted and cut and decorated and all manner of frightening things are adorning the walls of our home. The treats have been bought and are being guarded from sneaky little fingers and our Halloween costumes are all laid out! Yes, I dress up too!  I am the one who takes the kids out while hubby mans the fort giving out the treats. I have one son going as a sailor and the other two are Power Rangers. One is red the other is blue. Apparently there is a huge difference in powers and capabilities but my brain cannot retain all these fine nuances! I have a huge witches hat, cape, wig and gloves with long silver talons! I am much more frightening than little Tilda here!

My card for this week’s Sketch Saturday just had to have a Halloween Theme! I wanted to ink this cute stamp another time more before she is stored away!

Our sponsor this week is:

I wanted to use this Magnolia background stamp as a creepy, scary moon. I stamped it, airbrushed it and added stickles and liquid appliqué. Tilda was colored with my copic markers.

Baby It’s Cold Outside ~ Friday Sketchers

Friday Sketchers - Page 042

Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by! I received my Whiff of Joy Winter kit a few days ago and it didn’t take long before these beauties were E-Z mounted and ready for action! I have used this very sweet and somewhat chilly Willow for my Friday Sketchers card. This week, the amazing Aud is hosting and has provided us all with a great sketch to follow. We have such great sponsors here at FS and this week it is Sassy Studio Designs that will  generously give a prize to one of our lucky participants!

Friday Sketchers - Page 042

All the stamps in the winter kit are wonderful and picking one was hard but I had a plan in mind when I saw the sketch and this image was perfect for it. The whole time I was working on this card, the song “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” was playing over and over in my head (hence my blog post title) ….in fact I realize that I must have been singing it over and over  because now my little one is walking around singing it!

I paired this chilled Willow up with the WOJ bench and added Polar White Flower soft around it and on top of it. The background behind is a piece of glitter paper and the fancy border was done with an EK success punch. The final touch was to add some dots with Liquid pearls.

The WOJ sentiment is perfect for the card once you pull out the tag and see what is attached!

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Winter Kit (images will be available to purchase separately at a  later date) Wooden Bench
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Baja Breeze, Bazzill Pink, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses, DCWV Glitter Stack
  • Coloring: Copic Markers
  • Embellies: Brad from SU, Liquid Pearl,  all the rest are from my unmarked stash!

Thanks for stopping by today and a special thanks to all of you who leave me such kind words. I appreciate them more than you know and they motivate me to keep on stamping and blogging!

For more inspiration, see the Friday Sketchers blog and feast your eyes on my amazing fellow DT and I really hope you have the chance to play along this week! Here’s the sketch:

Whiff of Joy DT Cards

Whiff Of Joy - Page 135

Happy Tuesday! Today I have 2 Whiff of Joy cards to show you! I am in heaven with all these new WOJ images.

Here is my first card which features this cute Quiet Santa stamp. For a change of pace, I thought I would color him something other that red and went for some vintage browns instead. I used Distress inks for this one and the papers are Cosmo Cricket. The sketch is from this week’s WOJ challenge.

Whiff Of Joy - Page 134

Now this next card features a new soon to be released Whiff of Joy stamp illustrated by a new WOJ illustrator; Norma Fickel. I think her images are so cute and whimsical and I don’t think that there is anything quite like these anywhere else! Don’t worry……Katharina will have these cuties available to order by Saturday!

Whiff Of Joy - Page 135

I think there is such a magical quality about this image and when I colored it, would you believe that every copic marker was from the Earth family? I tried to match the Cosmo Cricket DP and ribbon. I also used these GORGEOUS new WOJ Christmas swirls that were drawn by our very own and super talented Sonja. They are a must-have that is for sure. These will be available soon as well. I also used one of the new WOJ charms on my card. They are the perfect final touch.

Now as if I am not giddy enough with all these Whiff of Joy stamps surrounding me…………my Winter DT Kit arrived today as well………………..I don’t know what to do with myself! LOL! Stay tuned for lots and lots of new cards!

Angel’s Landing ~ Match-Box Card

Angela's Landing - Page 011

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!

My project today is actually a gift that I made for my mother-in-law. She loves birds and her garden is always filled with them. When I saw this new image from Angel’s Landing I knew that it would be perfect for her!

I created a match-box card. The card is adhered onto the 4 match-boxes and it ties shut with a ribbon. The image was colored with Copic markers and then I added a layer of UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder) to it so it will be more durable.

I actually "googled" cardinals and found color photos and when I saw that there are some that are not the traditional all red that I was used to seeing, I thought I would use this other color palette. I was talking to Judi and she was telling me that the males are the reds ones and the females are the ones with the more muted coloring! I didn’t know that!

Angela's Landing - Page 011

  • Image: Angel’s Landing: Seasons Tweetings
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Basic Black, Sahara Sand Cardstock, Parisien Breeze DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, UTEE
  • Embellies: SU! Chocolate Chip Silk Ribbon, Gemstone brads(handles), Hero Arts gems

I made the match boxes with a Stampin’ Up die. It was so much easier that measuring and cutting by hand!

Angela's Landing - Page 012

I want to thank Judi for asking me to be her October Guest for Angel’s Landing. She was such an absolute pleasure to work with and she is as lovely as her images! MWAH!

All about Kids ~ High Hope Challenge #

High Hopes Stamps - Page 004

Happy Sunday Everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely and relaxing weekend! It has been very rainy over here so we have all been pretty mellow!  Which is nice once in a while! My son had a very early hockey game this morning. This is the last one before they make the official teams. This year he decided that he wanted to be a goalie. I think he is trying to kill me! My husband is a goalie and plays on a local team and I have always found it so stressful to watch. My middle guy is following in his footsteps! So far he is doing super well considering it is his first time as goalie. They are going to move him up a level. I am going to have to develop nerves of steel and deep pockets…the equipment is so expensive!

Today I have my High Hopes card to show you. Gosh….I just love these sweet images. The are so much fun to color. The challenge this week is “all about kids” and I just had to ink up this sweet image! I didn’t add a sentiment as I am not sure who or what occasion this will be for.

High Hopes Stamps - Page 004

  • Stamps: High Hopes: Heidi & Madison
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU! Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Parisien Breeze DP

  • Embellies: SU! Ribbon, buttons, Hero Arts gemstones, Flower from stash

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can join in the challenge and don’t forget to see what the HH Divas have created for you! WOW! They are soooo talented!

All I Want For Christmas ~ Sketch Saturday #74

Sketch Saturdays - Page 128

Happy Saturday Everyone! The week just rushed by for me. How about you? The kids had dentist and pediatrician appointments so I was just running here and there all week. I did have a little bit of time in my craft room so my sanity is still intact! LOL!

Today I have my card for Sketch Saturday to show you and I had such a fun time following Jo’s sketch. She just amazes me with her creative sketches week after week! Thanks Sweetie! Our sponsor this week is the lovely Elaine from Quixotic Paperie and she has a wonderful prize for one of our lucky participants!

Here is my card featuring Whiff of Joy’s sweet little mouse Henry, and he has a little girl-friend. Aren’t they the cutest little couple! I paired the image up with this great sentiment also by Whiff of Joy.

Boo ~ Friday Sketchers # 75

Friday Sketchers - Page 041

Happy Friday! Today I have my card for Friday Sketchers to show you. This week it is Claudia’s turn to host the challenge and she has created a really wonderful sketch for us all to play with! We are being sponsored by Daisy May Designs.

I decided to create another Hallowe’en card and had such a fun time with this one.  I think this little Tilda is so sweet and this is a pretty versatile stamp. It doesn’t just have to be for Hallowe’en! The spider and the webs were from a little kit that I bought at the dollar store. The kids love to drape this stuff all around the outside front entrance of our house. I didn’t think they would notice if I pinched a tiny piece of it! The sentiment was embossed with black powder and they I airbrushed to match the DP.

Halloween Door Hangers

All That Scraps CC Designs - Page 023 All That Scraps CC Designs - Page 021

Happy Thursday Everyone! I thought I would show you the door hangers I made for our house this year. They are such a fun touch and the kids love them! I used scraps of paper from last year’s Halloween cards and the images are from All That Scraps! I used the Drippy Goo punch by Martha Stewart ….don’t you just love the effect? The coloring was all done with copic markers and I raided my First Aid box for the gauze!

Here are some close-ups:

Angel Whispers ~ Wags ‘n Whiskers DT Card

Wags 'n Whiskers - Page 007

A very late post for me! I took the two younger children to the dentist for their check-ups this morning. He is in the city so it is a bit of a trek but he is such a great guy and the kids love him. They consider it a big treat to go!

My little guy’s preschool was taking all the school photos today (of course it had to be the same day) so I had to get him back in time for that. We zoomed home – I was lucky and there was no traffic and  all my lights were green! I love when that happens. Then I had to get my middle guy to school. Whew! What a morning.

I finished coloring up another of my Wags ‘n Whiskers Stamps and was so happy to see the lovely sketch at the A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge. It was perfect for the image. After I finished the card, I sprayed it with Shimmerz Spritz. I love the shimmer it gives but…….oh my gosh…….it smells really bad. Is it just my bottle or are they all that stinky? I was afraid my card would smell but it is fine!

Angel’s Landing ~ A Gift for Baby

Angela's Landing - Page 003Happy Monday! Today I have a little project I created using another of Angel’s Landing’s adorable digital images. I am telling you, these cuties are hard to resist. I love this little Teddie with a sweet little bird perched on his shoulder and it just seemed like the perfect image to use for a baby gift.

I created a little box using cardstock and designer paper. The tutorial for the box is here on the Scor-Pal site. I thought it would make a nice little package for a baby gift. You could roll up some cute  diaper shirts and put them inside or a receiving blanket which is what is in mine.

Angela's Landing - Page 009_0001

  • Images: Angel's Landing Pierced Tags, Mini Bears-Birds Cubby Cousins
  • Paper: SU! Whisper White, Urban Garden DP, Acetate
  • Coloring: Copic Markers (BG000, BG00, BG02, E31, E35, E50, R20 + colorless blender) Prismacolor pencil (Crimson Red) & OMS added to deepen cheek color. The Congratulations tag was airbrushed with BG02
  • Embellies: Glitter Daisy from Forever in Time, Hero Arts Mini Pearls, White Brads
  • Tools: Scor-Pal, Paper Trimmer, Nestabilities

Have a fantastic day and thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!
