Angel’s Landing Easter Card

Happy Wednesday Everyone! I cannot believe the temperatures that we are having. Unbelievable. Forget about Spring…it has been feeling like Summer these past days :)

I have an Easter Card to share with you today and I am using one of  Angel Landing’s digital images from their new Nature’s Babies 1 Collection.

025 copy

Such a sweet scene to color up. I colored the bunny and the duckling with Copic markers and then went ahead and added some extra fur/feathers with a gel pen. The effect is a lot more subtle IRL. For some reason they are so pronounced in my photos. The background was a combo of Copics and prismacolor pencils. I made a standard A2 card and used a SU! embossing folder to add some texture and then cut out this intricate oval over-lay with a Cherry Lynn die. The ribbon is retired SU! and I added some extra pleats for a little something different.

Here is a look at the different images that come in this collection. As you can see, they are already all mixed together in various combinations. Pretty cool. I also noticed that there are some wonderful tutorials that give you a color chart to color up the images.

Angels Landing ~ New Image

Happy Thursday! I am so happy to share today’s card with you. It features an incredible new image from Angel’s Landing: Bunny & Violets. It is part of the new nature series which features a cute little chipmunk…he is next on my list to color!

It was really fun to color up and for me is the “perfect” little Easter Bunny. It reminds me of the Laura Secord rabbit and that is always what the Easter Bunny brought to my home…..now he brings it to my boys! There is something about those little eggs wrapped up in pastel foil……

I am entering this in A Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is “animals”.

There are a ton of cute digital images to be found over at Angel’s Landing. The images are very well done and so much fun to color!

Have to run….. when will I stop being so busy?

November Angels Landing Blog Hop

Angela's Landing - Page 015 Happy Wednesday and welcome to the November Angels Landing Blog Hop!

I was the Guest Designer for Angels Landing for the month of October and Judi very graciously invited me to join in their November Hop as they release 2 new digital image sets: Polar Bear Cubs and Button Bugs.

So, if you just happened by my blog you have missed the beginning, so head over to Judi's digital stamps blog and follow the links, I don’t want you to miss any of the amazing DT’s creations! There is also some candy along the way, so make sure you visit everyone!

Angela's Landing - Page 015 I decided to create an easel card (aren’t they just the rage lately?) and use one of the adorable polar bear cubs from the set. I cannot believe how cute they are! I set him on top of this gorgeous sentiment which is also part of the set.

I used my copic markers to color the image and airbrush the background. I printed an extra copy of my image on regular paper and cut it out to use as a mask when I was airbrushing. I held it in place with some Scotch Removable tape. I purposely did not make the airbrushing uniform to give the illusion of some clouds in the background. For an extra touch, I painted some Shimmerz on the cub and added some stickles to the icicles and the snowdrifts on the sentiment.

Here is the card opened up…..

So, now you need to hop on over to Mel’s blog to see some more of the new release.

If by any chance, a link is not working or you get lost along the way (hey it happens to me sometimes), then go and check the master list on Judi's digital stamps blog.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the hop!

Angel’s Landing ~ Match-Box Card

Angela's Landing - Page 011

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!

My project today is actually a gift that I made for my mother-in-law. She loves birds and her garden is always filled with them. When I saw this new image from Angel’s Landing I knew that it would be perfect for her!

I created a match-box card. The card is adhered onto the 4 match-boxes and it ties shut with a ribbon. The image was colored with Copic markers and then I added a layer of UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder) to it so it will be more durable.

I actually "googled" cardinals and found color photos and when I saw that there are some that are not the traditional all red that I was used to seeing, I thought I would use this other color palette. I was talking to Judi and she was telling me that the males are the reds ones and the females are the ones with the more muted coloring! I didn’t know that!

  • Paper: Stampin' Up Basic Black, Sahara Sand Cardstock, Parisien Breeze DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, UTEE
  • Embellies: SU! Chocolate Chip Silk Ribbon, Gemstone brads(handles), Hero Arts gems

I made the match boxes with a Stampin’ Up die. It was so much easier that measuring and cutting by hand!

I want to thank Judi for asking me to be her October Guest for Angel’s Landing. She was such an absolute pleasure to work with and she is as lovely as her images! MWAH!

Angel’s Landing ~ A Gift for Baby

Angela's Landing - Page 003Happy Monday! Today I have a little project I created using another of Angel’s Landing’s adorable digital images. I am telling you, these cuties are hard to resist. I love this little Teddie with a sweet little bird perched on his shoulder and it just seemed like the perfect image to use for a baby gift.

I created a little box using cardstock and designer paper. The tutorial for the box is here on the Scor-Pal site. I thought it would make a nice little package for a baby gift. You could roll up some cute  diaper shirts and put them inside or a receiving blanket which is what is in mine.

Let it Snow! ~ Angel’s Landing Blog Hop

Welcome to the October Angel’s Landing Blog Hop!

I am so happy that Judi asked me to participate in the new release hop today. Now, if you missed the beginning of the hop then head over to the beginning at Judi's digi-stamps blog and follow the links from there. The Design Team have all used one or the other of two new digital image sets for October: Season's Tweetings and Penguin Chicks.

Angela's Landing - Page 006

Angela's Landing - Page 009

I chose to use the sweet little Penguin set. On the front of my card I colored and cut out the “Let it Snow” sentiment. I added liquid appliqué and stickles to the snow caps on the letters for some fun dimension.

On the inside are the 3 adorable penguin chicks! They were so much fun to color with my copic markers! I created a trio but they are all individual images so you can use just one if you wish. They all also come as images dressed in cute hats so the possibilities are endless! The background paper has a felt snowflake embossed onto it and I added some bling to create a sky-line. Finally I tore some paper and added stickles to create the little snow-bank for these cuties to sit on!

  • Images: Angel’s Landing: Penguin Chicks
  • Paper: SU! Red Riding Hood, Basic Black, Specialty Christmas paper 2009
  • Coloring: Copic Markers: C00, C1,C3,C5,C7, 0-Colorless Blender
  • Embellies: SU Ribbon, Felt Snowflake, Bling from stash, stickles, liquid appliqué

There is some candy hidden along the way throughout this hop. I don’t have any but if you keep hopping you will find the DTs that do!

So thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the hop. Your next stop on the Blog Hop is Cheryl! If by chance any of the links aren’t working then head back over to Judi's digi-stamps blog, there you will see the master list!

We are also going to be chatting on the Angels Landing group pages over at PCP and SNR should you care to join us!! You'll be able to meet and chat with owner and artist, Judi Maddigan as well as members of the fall design team! Hope to see you there!!

Angel’s Landing Recessed Window Card

Angel's Landing - Page 003Happy Monday! Last month, I was contacted by Judi the owner of Angel’s Landing and she asked me to be her Guest Designer for October. Well, after seeing her adorable digital image, how could I resist?  My only dilemma was choosing which images I would use. They are all so precious. So, for my first project I finally chose this sweet doggie and the holly & berries from the Ho Ho Hollydays Set.

I used these images to create a little Christmas-themed recessed window. This is a really fun little project and I think it would work well with the little cat that is also in the set. Because these images are digital, you can resize them to fit whatever project that you are working on!

  • Images & sentiment from Ho Ho Hollydays printed on Wasau Bright White 65lb paper
  • Paper: SU! Basic Black, Whisper White, Designer Paper by imaginisce Polar Expressions
  • Coloring Copic Markers: E30, E31, E25, E27, C1, C3, G00, G14, G17, R14, R24, R27, 0-Colorless Blender
  • Embellies: Papertrey Gingham Ribbon
  • Special Tools: Oval & Scallopped Nestabilities for Inside Sentiment
  • Recessed Window Tutorial found on Splitcoasters here

Here is a wee look at the inside. This lovely sentiment is also from the same set.

I cannot tell you how wonderful these images are to color. Pure fun! Now this was my last exciting announcement…………………..I am in whirlwind of giddiness with all my news……………………. but I’d better get to work! LOL!
