Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge DT Card

Wags 'n Whiskers - Page 018 Happy Friday! Here is my first post of the day and it is for the Wags ’n Whiskers Challenge which this week is to make a Valentine's Day card without using red!

Hope you had a great week and now thankfully the week-end is here! Yippee! That means my hubby will be back from his business trip today! We all miss him so much. He calls every night just after supper-time and the kids know it is him if the phone rings at that time. I tell you, there is a stampede as everyone tries to get to the phone first!

My card uses the sweet stamp “ Bear Hug”. These stamps are such a joy to color and create with and I love the tender expression on this little one’s face. I wanted to keep this card soft and dreamy and decided to create an aperture card. In this picture below you can see the shimmerz on her dress and wings.

Whiff of Joy DT Cards

Whiff Of Joy - Page 135

Happy Tuesday! Today I have 2 Whiff of Joy cards to show you! I am in heaven with all these new WOJ images.

Here is my first card which features this cute Quiet Santa stamp. For a change of pace, I thought I would color him something other that red and went for some vintage browns instead. I used Distress inks for this one and the papers are Cosmo Cricket. The sketch is from this week’s WOJ challenge.

Now this next card features a new soon to be released Whiff of Joy stamp illustrated by a new WOJ illustrator; Norma Fickel. I think her images are so cute and whimsical and I don’t think that there is anything quite like these anywhere else! Don’t worry……Katharina will have these cuties available to order by Saturday!

I think there is such a magical quality about this image and when I colored it, would you believe that every copic marker was from the Earth family? I tried to match the Cosmo Cricket DP and ribbon. I also used these GORGEOUS new WOJ Christmas swirls that were drawn by our very own and super talented Sonja. They are a must-have that is for sure. These will be available soon as well. I also used one of the new WOJ charms on my card. They are the perfect final touch.

Now as if I am not giddy enough with all these Whiff of Joy stamps surrounding me…………my Winter DT Kit arrived today as well………………..I don’t know what to do with myself! LOL! Stay tuned for lots and lots of new cards!

There’s Snow Love Like your Love

Whiff Of Joy - Page 133

Happy Monday and Happy Thanksgiving to all fellow Canadians! After having had two full turkey suppers, today I think we may not need to eat! LOL! Actually we will be having my favorite part of a turkey dinner….the soup that you make the next day! Yummy and comforting just like my Mum used to make for me!

Today I have  another Whiff of Joy Henry card to share with you! I love this little fellow. He is going to be a prominent character on a lot of my Christmas cards this year. I will say that I really am happy with the way this card came out!

The card layout was inspired by Beate whose style I am really in love with.  To create the background for Henry, I first cut out the fancy square shape with my Nestabilitie lables die. Then I took an oval Nestie die, centered it over my cut square and airbrushed the inside. This gave me that blue oval. Then, keeping the oval nestie in place, I pierced holes around the outside of the die. I lightly sponged around the edges of the square and I was done! The paper I used has a nice matte metallic sheen so it looks really sharp!

  • Stamps:
  • Whiff of Joy Henry & Hot Chocolate,  Sentiment: Winter Sentiment Set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Soft Sky
  • Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, Metallic Paper from LSS, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Prismacolors & OMS
  • Embellies: Su Soft Sky Ribbon, Gemstone Brad fromLSS

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Thankful ~ Sketch Saturday #68

Sketch Saturdays - Page 122 Happy Saturday Everyone! Here is my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday! We are being sponsored by  Simon Says Stamp.

I really loved the sketch that Jo has made and happily, my WOJ DT stamps were in the mail-box yesterday so I was able to use this gorgeous new Charlotte stamp. I love how the leaves are falling all around her. So pretty! The background was airbrushed with YR21 and then lightly sponged around the sides with a brown ink. I was going for a bit of a  glow around Charlotte!

Reaching for the Stars ~ My First Whimsy Card

Yesterday I was so delighted to find my Whimsy stamps in the mail-box. I had to wait until last night to ink one up and make my first card with these adorable stamps.

I really love how they are packaged. They are make of really high quality ribber that is deeply etched so it is very easy to get a good image when you stamp. They are already mounted on E-Z mount! Yippee! One less step for me and I don't have to worry about not having any E-Z mount on hand when my stamps get here. Has that ever happened to you? They other great thing is that they come with a laminated card with the image stamped on it and your stamp can just stick to it. Perfect for keeping organized!

It was hard to pick which stamp to use first but I've had a crush on Kermit the Frog since I was 3 so I ended up using this sweet little frog first. His sweet expression just tugs at my heart. I used this Verve sentiment because he also reminds me of the story of the princess kissing the frog and turning him into a prince and also to honor Denise for following her dreams, reaching for the stars and starting her very own stamp company. Whimsy Stamps is sure to be a success and I want to thank Denise once again for asking me to join her talented Design Team!

  • Stamps: Whimsy Stamps Frog, Verve Stamps Sentiment
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Chocolate Chip
  • Paper: SU! Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Paper Trey Aqua, Daisy Bucket DP
  • Coloring: Frog - Copic Markers, Background- Copic Airbrushing, Lily Pad- Koh-i-norr Pencils
  • Embellies: Papertrey Aqua Ribbon, K&Co adhesive rhinestones
  • Tools: Nestabilites, SU! Punches
Thanks for looking and you can purchase this cute frog and a few other sweeties at Whimsy Stamps.
