Stamp & Create Product Spotlight

Happy, Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was a per usual, BUSY and this coming week will be…..you guessed it….BUSY! I have come to the realization that with 3 active boys, I am always going to be a busy girl!

Today’s card was made for the  Stamp & Create Product Spotlight:

The Bow Easy

On sale for 25% off through Sunday, May 6th at Midnight EST

024 copy

I have used  Apple Blossom, one of the stamps from Whimsy's line: Little Cottage Cuties. The image was colored with Copic markers and pencils and distress inks were used for the background. I added Liquid Pearls to create the small white accent dots. You can see this really well in the close-up picture:

026 copy

I also used Ivory May Arts Silk ribbon and tied her bow using the Bow Easy. I adorned the center of the bow with a Kasier Craft Coconut Paper Bloom. The patterned paper is from one of my faves: MME Miss Caroline Dolled Up. I created my little ticket by using Whimsy’s Friendship Tickets Sentiments and the coordinating die. Easy-peasy and it is such a fun look. I tied a little bit of twine around the ticket for some extra interest. The leaves were made using the Whiff of Joy leaf die.

025 copy

Fairy Charlotte

Happy Tuesday!  Hope all is well with everyone! Today I have a card that just makes me happy! This is one of Whiff of Joy’s older Alison Action images but it is brand new to me! With the gloomy and rainy weather that we have been having, I needed something to cheer me up and the color palette I used on my card was the just the trick!

This week’s  Stamp & Create Product Spotlight Sale is:

Whiff of Joy stamps which are on sale 25% off

Charlotte Fairy

I colored Fairy Charlotte up in shades of pinks, oranges and yellows. I love this color combo especially with the hit of green from the leaves! I cut her out with my Spellbinders circles making sure to leave the tips of her wings out of the frame. I then masked Charlotte and the flower and air-brushed the background in.  I used some of the same markers that I had used during the coloration of Charlotte and just they blended so nicely together to create a soft background.

The papers are some really old pieces left over from a retired Stampin’ Up collection that I have had for ages now. It was fun to try to piece the smaller scraps together for the card.

I made the flower! Yes, I did! IRL it is a better match to my papers but it is not showing that well in the photos. I used a Whiff of Joy metal nested flower II die to cut out the flower pieces and then I added some Twinkling H20 in Coral  and then spritzed them with water and scrunched them up. Sounds so technical doesn’t it? LOL! While the pieces were still wet, I carefully un-crumbled them and let them dry. The final touch was a spritz with Studio Calico’s Mr Huey’s White mist. Love this stuff! I also added some Basic Grey pearl flourishes to embellish

Charlotte Fairy FULL

Here you can see where I added some of the Coral H20s to the flowers and wings of the image. It is so pretty!

The new Stamp & Create weekly candy is:

Basic Grey Nordic Holiday and Indian Summer 6"x6" paper pads

Whiff of Joy Sneak Peek

Happy Sunday! I am here with the post I promised yesterday! Whiff of Joy will be releasing a Sympathy Collection on April 28th. These images are really lovely. Here is my first card. I used this sweet little cherub and paired him with some soft patterned paper from MME’s Miss Caroline Howdy Doody paper pad and some intricate die-cut cardstock.

012 copy

I added some Whiff of Joy ribbon and a pearl brad to complete my card. I will be showing more sneak peeks throughout the rest of the week.

Thanks for stopping by!

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday

Happy Saturday! The kids were off from school yesterday AND I had a problem with my Silhouette Program so I wasn’t able to post yesterday :(

I wanted to link the die cuts I used for my shadow box and that is when I realized there was a problem. My software wouldn’t open. I finally called the company and they helped me out :) Thanks goodness! So, here is my creation:

This week our LLLC Inspiration is:

Frame it with a Window

I decided to use one of the Silhouette shapes that I recently snagged from the store. It is a 5 x 7 shadow box made entirely of cardstock. Love how it turned out and how light it is. You could easily adhere it to a wall with blue-tack or just prop it up somewhere for a little decoration.

029 copy

I die-cut the Explore with my Silhouette SD as well. Here are the two files I used:

5x7_shadow_box_C01627_20509

exploreexploring_C01118_19547

I created a cute scene using Tricycle Marci. I colored her to match my fun and bright patterned paper which was in my scrap stash. To finish off the box I adhered several paper flowers.

Copics

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: E30, E31, E34, E35
Green: YG11, yG13, YG17
Yellow: YR30, Y21, YR24
Pink: RV02, RV04, RV08
Grey: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9

That is it for me. I will be back tomorrow with a card I am working on from Whiff of Joy’s next release! Hopefully I will get it finished tonight. I have to go and get prettied up as I am going to a bridal shower this afternoon!

Love yourself

Happy Wednesday! I have just a quick share for you all today :) I made this card a while back and never posted it! The image is from Tickled Pink’s Pinkette line and I love her cute hair-do and blue jeans.

The sentiment is from MFT. It was one that I just had to pick up. I think it is a wonderful and oh so true :)  The paper I think is MME Lime Twist :)

August 12 Watermarked for Blog - Page 002

I am entering this in Papertake Weekly’s challenge: A stich in time. That is is for me! I have a very long to-do list today :)

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ Basic Grey

Happy Monday! Whew! It is quite warm and muggy today and at the moment, it feels like we might have some thunderstorms. I have a mental note as to which windows I have open in case I have to close them :)

I was busy this morning trying to get caught up with my Project Life :) I have completed up to week #14 so am feeling great. I have to say, that this truly is a great way to document your life. I am way, way behind in my traditional scrapbooking so this really makes me feel less guilty. We all enjoy the process of taking pictures and it has really made me more aware of the small things in life which truly are the most important! After posting this, I will go choose my pictures for the last two weeks and hopefully get totally caught up my tomorrow!

So, today I have my Stamp & Create Product Spotlight to share with you and this week we are shining the light on:

Basic Grey

All Basic Grey Paper, Stamps, Brads, Buttons, and Bling are on sale 25% off this week.

047 copy

I used two images from CC Designs: Swiss Woodland Lucy and Swiss Woodland Mushroom. She is utterly adorable and I lover her perched on top of this flower.

They were both colored with a combination of distress inks and Twinkling H20s. Two of my dear blogging friends; Lacey & Katharina, are expert watercolorists and I adore the gorgeous tonal quality that you can achieve by using watercolors so I decided to reach for them for this card instead of my usual Copics. I get all my Twinling H20s and water tank brushes ~here~.

The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry paper pad. To embellish my card,  I used Kaiser Crafts Pearls, May Arts Silk ribbon, Stampin’ Up pleated ribbon and assorted Kaiser Craft and Prima Flowers.

I am entering my card in the Ribbon Girl Challenge. They have a color change to use pink, orange and aqua.

The Stamp & Create blog candy this week is:

Ducky Duck from Magnolia's Princes & Princesses Collection 2012

**In order to enter the candy, you must post the Stamp and Create's Store Logo in the side bar of your blog and link it to www.stampandcreate.com...

The candy end Sunday, April 22nd at 7pm EST

Please enter the candy at this posting ~here~

That is it for me! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a lovely rest of the day!

Special Preview of Whiff of Joy Summer Stamp Kit

Whiff of Joy’s Summer Kit has a theme that is after my own heart! Yes, I am an avid Jane Austen fan and for the Summer kit, it is all about Henry Mouse, his Lady Mouse and Jane Austen! I have seen all the images and they are out of this world! Here is a sneak peek:

042 copy

It was a wonderful coincedence that my new Spellbinder dies arrived Friday afternoon! The are gorgeous, intricate and perfect for a vintage look! I did some soft sponging to keep the white from being too stark. I thought I would create a pocket card as it has been a while since I used this fun card fold. Here is a video I made showing you how to make one:

043 copy

Here is the insert that I created using another new Spellbinders set. The pull tab was created with an older set. I am sorry…I can never keep the names of all the sets straight. There are too many of them! The lovely ribbon is May Art and ties so beautifully.

The Whiff of Joy Secret Summer stamp set is available for a limited time for pre-order at the Whiff of Joy store ~here~

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A couple of shares

Happy Friday! Hope you aren’t superstitious as I have just realized it is the 13th!

I have been somewhat AWOL this week as I have been busy getting caught up with housework and such. I also was a parent volunteer on a field trip for my little guy. He made my heart melt when he turned to me on the bus ride home and said “Thank you so much for coming on this trip Mummy.” Awwww. It was a fun trip as we visited a horticulture centre and they learned about seeds and plants. Who knew a potato was a stem? I always thought it was a root. I learned a few things too!

So I have two things to share with you! The first one is an altered band-aid tin. I had altered it a few years back with a Magnolia stamp and I am actually surprised how well it held up but the time came to change it up and I knew exactly which stamp to use: Whiff of Joy’s Comfort the Baby.

Bandaid container

Love, love this image. How many times have I applied a band-aid, a kiss and a hug to my boys and on occasion to one of their stuffed animals? It always tugs at my heart that a little kiss from me makes it feel better.

After coloring the image, I laminated it and then adhered it to the tin with scor-pal tape. I added some ribbon and twine but that is it. This needs to be functional after-all!

My second card is for this week’s La-La Land Craft Stamps and our theme this week is to have an unusual hair color. RIght away I knew I wanted to color up Mermaid Marci! I saw Amy color a mermaid in aqua and orange and I loved that look, so I tried it out. Love, how it turned out.

018 copy

I used some old pieces of patterned paper from different companies that ended up matching really well. The button is Jenni Bowlin and the sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Copic markers:
Skin: E00, E50, E01 R30, R20
Hair: BG11, BG13, BG18, YGOO, YGO3
Tail & top: Y11, Y15, YR02, YR04, YR09, E09

That is it for me! I have a bunch of DT work to get done before the kids get back from school and peace and quiet is gone! LOL!

Stamp & Create Magnolia Product Spotlight

Happy Easter Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday and that the bunny stopped by your house :) I didn’t get the chance to create the Easter card I wanted to post :( time got away from me. I’ll have to “tweek” my design idea to create something non- Easter with that stamp…stay tuned!

Today I have my Stamp and Create Product Spotlight card to share with you and we are shining the spotlight on:

Magnolia Stamps

Magnolia  stamps will be discounted up to 25% for this week

I have really loved the last few collections by Magnolia and I was itching to create a scene card when I saw these particular stamps. I thought they would look charming together :)  I used Edwin's Knights Castle to help create this medieval scene card as well as Medieval Tilda and Tilda's Princess Horse. All these stamps can be found in Magnolia's Prince & Princesses Collection.

091 copy

Tilda and her horse were each stamped separately and colored and cut out carefully. When I stamped the castle out, I made sure to offset it so that the castle edge lined up with the edge of my paper. That gave me enough room to be able to add Tilda and the horse. I air-brushed the sky in with with my Copic ABS. Before doing so, I added some cloud masks. I then colored everything with Copics. Tilda and the horse are popped on with dimensionals.

092 copy

The patterned paper is from PYI. To embellish my card, I used assorted Prima Flowers and added a Crown charm to the upper left-hand side. These crowns are the perfect to use with this collection! 093 copy

Hope you enjoy taking a peek at my Medieval scene as mush as I did creating it!

I will be back to edit this post with the S&C weekly blog candy once I have the info!

***Edited to add***

Spring: Stamp & Create & Whiff of Joy Cards

Happy Wednesday! Where is this week going? I have been super busy these past days and haven’t had any time to get some work done here in my craft studio! The kids all had birthday/hockey parties this week-end and I was busy being the Mum Taxi! This week we have doctor check-ups and orthodontist appointments along with after school sports and their weekly music lessons! Thank goodness for my i-phone’s calender…it keeps me from forgetting who is going where!

I have two cards to share with you today. First up is my card for Stamp & Create’s Monthly challenge which is Spring as well as for our weekly Product Spotlight Sale: Charms.  All charms are on sale 25% off through Sunday at midnight EST.

001 copy

I have used a Magnolia Stamp from the Sweet Crazy Love 2012 Collection: Tilda as Star. I also added this sweet egg accessory stamp which I believe is from two Easters ago. They were both masked and then I airbrushed the background with my Copic ABS. Love the soft effect this gives.

The patterned paper is from MME Follow your Heart pack as well as October Afternoon. I used some old SU! ribbon and a heart 2 charm tied with some rustic twine. The sentiment is from SU! and was stamped on some Kraft cardstock.

You can enter your Spring-themed card ~here~

My second card is for the Spring is in the Air theme at Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. I used this whimsical Norma Fickel Spring Joy image which is currently on sale for 50% off  at Whiff of Joy.

018 copy

For a change, I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils blended with OMS. This gave a lovely soft coloration which I think suits this sweet image. The swirls are from this set ~here~ and are perfect for adding some interest to your image if you aren’t matting it. The paper is from an old Basic Grey paper pad. I also used some Whiff of Joy dies: the cute hearts and my favorite butterflies! The doily was die cut with a Cherry Lynn die and that gorgeous ribbon is also Whiff of Joy. You can currently get a great deal on an assortment of this ribbon. I personally love this ribbon, It is high quality with just enough stiffness to tie beautifully but not too much so that it drapes wonderfully as well.

That is it for me today! I am hoping to get to some DT work later this afternoon. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Tickled Pink School Pinkette Chloe

Happy Sunday and Happy April Fool’s Day! Did someone play a prank on you today or were you the prankster?

Today is the first preview day for Tickled Pink’s new Pinkette Collection…The School Pinkettes! Technically I am on not on this team as I am a Pink Lady but I could not resist these sweet images and decided to make one for the release :)   There are 4 new images which will be released on the 5th April 2012.

Introducing:

School Pinkette Chloe 007 copy

I {heart} her kilt and sassy haircut. I tried a new combo for her hair and I was really happy with how it turned out (E15, 17, 18, 19, Y21). The paper is from October afternoon and the ruled paper and sentiment are from Verve Stamps. The ribbon is PTI.

A really simple card but it lets that sweet image take center stage!

You can see more previews of this cute image by the DT over at the Tickled Pink blog and there are links there to all their blogs. DON’T FORGET...... Leave a comment on each post for your chance to WIN this image via digital download ONLY.

Have a great day!
