There is a Princess in every girl ~ Whiff of Joy

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Well, the 2 younger kids will be going to school today in the afternoon to meet their new teachers, drop off their supplies and get their desks and lockers assigned to them.  I guess Summer is officially over now.

Today I have another Princess card to show you. I totally {heart} these new stamps from Whiff of Joy and if you didn’t pre-order yourself a kit….well you will soon be able to purchase these sweeties….September 1st is the big day!

WOJ Princess in Mauve - Page 004

I really wanted to use some of my paper from my DCWV 8x8 Fairytale pack. I have had it for ages now and I just have to start using some of it up. I can’t hoard it forever! LOL! I wanted to keep the beautiful phase that ran along the bottom intact and had a time figuring out what to do! In the end, I cut off 3.5” from the top of the cardstock so that it measured 4.5 x 8’ and then I scored it in the center to create a tiny card measuring 4.5 x 4”. I then cut the left over piece to fit onto the front of the card. The pattern runs the other way but I don’t think it is too noticeable. I cut and embossed the metallic mat and stamped this wonderful sentiment onto some vanilla cardstock. I added a beautiful prima flower, some luxurious silk ribbon and a tiny border with more metallic paper and a Whiff of Joy die.

WOJ Princess in Mauve - Page 006

Here you can see the wonderful Princess and the wonderful sentiment that was on my paper. I cut some more metallic paper with the same WoJ die to run alongside the top edge of the inside!

Here is a close-up of the image and I think you can get a little glimpse of the glitter that was added with my Stardust and Atyou pens.

Here are some links (the Princess and sentiment of front of the card with be available at the Whiff of Joy online store as of September 1st)

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ Magnolia Stamps

Happy Monday! I hope that everybody is well and that those who were in the path of the hurricane are safe and sound. By the time it hit my area it was a tropical storm. Yesterday we had high winds and torrential downpours. It was definitely a day to stay put indoors.

Today’s card is for this week’s Stamp & Create Product Spotlight which is Magnolia Stamps! Yippee! I was so excited when Lacey announced that she would start carrying these cuties! I picked the sweet Nurse Tilda and created a  criss-cross pocket card. I made a video a while back showing how to make these cute card folds. If you want to take a wee peek, it can be found ~here~.

Nurse Tilda copy

The image was colored in with Copic Sketch markers to match the pretty patterned paper from Echo Park's For the Record 6x6 pad. I used Tim Holtz Idea-Ology corners, on the focal image panel and I must say that I really {heart} these. The add so much pizzaz to your creation. I used a Basic Grey's Oliver Epoxy Clip, and that served as a pull up tab for my insert panel. To complete my embellies, I used a  Jenni Bowlin Vintage Red Button, and some May Arts Crochet Lace. Nurse Tilda insert copy

I just re-stamped the image but this time in a Versa Sepia ink and left it uncolored. I like this look a lot. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps and was stamped with Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup ink. Here’s a close-up of Nurse Tilda:

Nurse Tilda close copy

I am going to enter my card in this week’s Just Magnolia & Hanglar challenge. They have a fun bingo card challenge going on! The line I chose was pins, buttons, ribbon/lace! (I hope my clip qualifies under as a type of pin! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day my friends!

Another LOTV….

Happy Sunday Everyone! As promised in yesterday’s post, here is the card that was supposed to post last Saturday and never did!

Love this little teddy from Lily of the Valley and he reminds me so much of my boys. The all loved to play in card-board boxes when they were little and use their imagination to play for hours!

August 12 Watermarked for Blog - Page 008

The image was colored with Copics and then I reinforced some of the shading with a black prismacolor pencil & OMS. I used my new nesties to cut out the shape. I think it is Labels #18….I have lost track…there are so many different ones.

The paper is MME Stella Rose 6x6 paper and was the inspiration for my color choices. The button is Jenni Bowlin and you can get some ~here~. I {heart} these and have them in red as well. I used PTI Bakers Twine and the scalloped border was made with a MFT metal die. The sentiment is also LOTV and I stamped it on Kraft cardstock. I have seen this a few times on other blogs and I like the casual feel it lends to the card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a gorgeous day.

Sketch Saturday #170 ~ Lily of the Valley Card

Happy Saturday Everyone! It has been a few days since I last posted. I have been working on some projects for some upcoming releases and haven’t really been spending too much time on the computer Smile I am going to miss the kids when they go back to school next week but I think I will have a lot more time to devote to my blog Smile I also had a little blogger issue with last week’s Sketch Saturday post and I never got around to getting it posted. I PROMISE that the card will be up tomorrow. As my boys say “Pinkie Promise”!

There is so much that I want to get accomplished and sometimes so very little time. I hope to be able to start loading some cards onto Ebay again. I stopped when we had the postal strike and now I have to get back on top of that!

For today’s card I have used a Lily of the Valley image. I finally broke down and purchased some of their stamps because they are just too darn cute! This one made my hubby laugh because he is always teasing me about the amount of shoes I have. It is a weakness!

lotv girl & shoes copy

will be available for purchase on ebay ~here~

The pretty paper is from a My Mind’s Eye 6x6 paper pad from the Stella Rose collection. I used the color palette in my designer paper to choose my copic markers. I added some background shading with prismacolor pencils and OMS. I like the softness of this technique. I decided to “bling” up the shoe that she is trying on with some stickles and I added some to the rose in her hat. I also added a tiny little star gem adhesive to her shoe…if you look carefully you will see it.

lotv girl & shoes side

I added some black & white gingham ribbon from PTI to the card to pick up the black in some of the shoes. It makes a nice contrast and matches the scalloped mat that I cut for the image. I added a little pearl bling to two corners and made the roses myself with some felt and the MFT rolled roses die. I {heart} the added texture that this lends to the card!

Here is the sketch for this week. I have to say that I love a sketch with a circular shade for the image. So pretty.

Whiff of Joy Fall Princess Kit ~ Perfect

Hi Everyone! Happy Tuesday! I couldn’t wait to share this card with you today! I am so in love with the new Fall Stamp kit from Whiff of Joy! I mean “Princesses”! You  can’t get anymore “magical” than that. If anyone knows me, they know that I {heart} Cinderella and this stamp is her all the way. There was no way I could color her in any other color combo than this blue & white!

WoJ Princess Cinderella2 copy

The paper is My Mind’s Eye from their Lost & Found collection and was perfect for this image.  I cut out the paper in such a way as to create the perfect place for he glass slipper on the pillow which  is also from the stamp kit. I treated the slipper to some stickles for that glittery effect. The swirls and pique border were made with some metallic silver cardstock and Whiff of Joy metal dies and the brad is also from WoJ. I also wanted to note that I ended up making my card a little smaller than usual at 5.25 x 5.25”. Just to keep the proportions looking right!

I added Twinkling H20s to the white part of Cinderella’s dress as well as the roses. I used: Siam White and Blue Ice which are also available over at Whiff of Joy.  Don’t worry if you did not order the kit, the stamps will all be available individually as of September 1st!

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ Kenny K images

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I was quite busy once again and so did not notice that my Sketch Saturday card did not post as scheduled. I am not sure why but I will make sure to post it tomorrowSmile

For now, I would like to share my card for this week’s Stamp & Create Product Spotlight. With Summer drawing to a  close, it is time to start them up once again and this week the spotlight shines on Kenny K images!

Watermarked for Blog KK - Page 011

I used Uptown Angel to create this fun card. I colored her up to match the patterned paper which is  Walk in the Park by Echo Park. I created the large cut out sentiment using my Silhouette machine. I sized it so that it would fit perfectly on the right-hand side panel.  I created the butterfly with a SU! sizzix plate and  attached it using the tiny attacher by Tim Holtz. The card is held closed with 2 little clips from my stash. Here you can see it partially opened:

Watermarked for Blog KK - Page 013

Here you can see that I stamped the stamp image with brown ink onto kraft paper. The sentiment is by Technique Tuesday.

A close-up of this wonderful image:

I think these images are perfect for the young tween and teen girls in our lives…don’t you? All Kenny K images will be on special for 25% off this week over at Stamp & Create. As well, there are a ton of new papers and other stamp lines that have just been added to the store!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge #4

My first card is for Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge’s 4th challenge. I just want to send out a HUGE thank-you to everyone who participated in our last challenge which I hosted! I was able to get to everyone’s blog and leave some love for you all and I was just amazed by all the gorgeous interpretations that were out there. That is what I LOVE about blogging…..so many beautiful styles of card-making, coloring mediums and amazing products!

Okay, I am chatty today aren’t I? Let me get back on track here and show you my card which I made using Cheri’s awesome sketch!

Watermarked-for-Blog-WoJ-August---Pa

I have used some stamps from Whiff of Joy’s new Fall Kit! It is an amazing kit full of the most divine Princess stamps! Now, don’t be sad if you didn’t order the kit (but learn from your mistake and pre-order the winter one, okay?) because these stamps will be available to purchase individually as of September 1st.

Watermarked-for-Blog-WoJ-August---Pa[3]

This second shot shows you the effect of the Twinkling H20s that I used over on top of my Copic marker coloring. I just took the photo from another angle. It is a really pretty effect and adds so much to your card. I used Autumn Skies and Sunflower.

My papers are all from my scrap drawer and aren’t even from the same company! I have some DCWV, MME and one unknown! The ribbon is from SU! and the brad is Whiff of Joy as is the sentiment.

Hope you can join in our challenge for this fortnight. Our prize is being sponsored by our very own Cheri’s company: Graphicat Designs.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

LaLa Land Craft Challenge Cards

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope your week was a great one and that you have some fun plans for the weekend….or you plan to just cosy up in your craft nook and play!

We have a ton of sports activities for the kids and a fun BBQ to go to. Sounds like a fun and action packed weekend to me. I probably won’t get too much time to craft but that’s okay. The kids are soon back to school so I want to spend as much time relaxing with them!

My card is for this week’s  La-LaLand Crafts Inspiration Friday. Our challenge this week was to create a Christmas card or ornament.

Every Monday and Friday La-La Land Crafts new Design Team will be bringing you a new inspirational theme. You are more than welcome to play along as we would love to see your creations with La-La Land Craft stamps. Please link your projects to our Customer Gallery.

Whiff of Joy Challenge ~ Buttons & Bows

Happy Monday…or what is left of it anyway! LOL! Yesterday we had huge thunderstorms all evening long and in the end, we were all cuddled up in my bed with the curtains drawn watching Nature at her finest. It was quite the sound and light show but snuggled up with hubby and I, the kids enjoyed it!

I had a busy shopping day today. Had to get the kids new running shoes and some new clothes for school and so now had been my earliest opportunity to get this post up!

The Whiff of Joy current challenge is buttons & bows and I whipped up this little bookmark to give to my youngest son. His brother has a very similar one with a dragon but my little one LOVES Henry so this new image was perfect!

August 12 Watermarked for Blog - Page 006

To create the bookmark, I cut out two of the WoJ magical tags and adhered cardstock and DP to either side. That makes it sturdy and hides the area where the two are joined.

A few buttons, brads and some of my favorite May Arts checked ribbon were added to decorate the front. I also pulled out this old ticket tag from Tim Holtz. I thought it looked nice with the image.

August 12 Watermarked for Blog - Page 007

Here are some product links for you Smile

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening! I have been working on a bunch of new projects and I can’t wait to show you all of them!

Sketch Saturday Week # 168

Happy Saturday! We have a brilliant forecast of sunny weather today and so we are going to try to enjoy every second of it. We are going to a Beach Party/Diploma Day at the sailing center. My eldest passed another level this year and we are so proud of him. He is also really, really happy! I am sure it will be a lovely time.

Today’s card is for this week’s Sketch Saturday Challenge and once again, I have used the new Whiff of Joy Henry’s Adventure stamps. This is truly a must have collection because they can be used for so many occasions!

August 12 Watermarked for Blog - Page 004

I love how sweetly this little froggie is posing for Henry. My boys should take lessons from him! I colored up the image with my trusty Copics and then added some background shadows with some prisma color pencils. I thought this Tim Holtz film strip was the perfect accessory for this image and so added a nice long strip of it.

The papers are Whiff of Joy and so are the sentiment and banner which was made with a WoJ metal die. In fact, everything is WoJ!

August 12 Watermarked for Blog - Page 005

As you can see, I  flipped the sketch upside down, moved the sentiment to the right and the embellishment upwards. It just looked nicer that way with this image.

Here are the product links for you. I have had feedback that you guys enjoy having the links like this so I will try my best to get them up on my posts for you.
