Sketch Saturday Week # 166

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start! It is time to show you my Sketch Saturday card and I have used another of the soon-to-be release Whiff of Joy stamps! I am LOVING these cuties and I am sure you will too!

Check out little Henry toasting some marshmallows over a camp-fire. This is one of my boys’ favorite things to do when we go camping and that is probably why I love it so much. ‘Smores anyone?

July 2011 - Page 218

I had this adorable paper from October Afternoon’s Campfire collection that I got from Stamp & Create. It is so sweet and I thought it was perfect for this card. Little Henry is not alone in the camp-ground. There are little critters all around him. This reminds me of many of our camping experiences over the years but those are stories for another day. I will just say that I have had some up close and personal encounters with many of these little critters. Guess I am just lucky that way when I go camping!

July 2011 - Page 219

This week’s Sketch Saturday sketch was perfect for showing off some of the cute illustrations on the paper. It is sometimes hard because they get covered up with other things when on a card. I was happy to be able to punch them out and use them as embellishments. That being said, I ended up having to leave off the sentiment portion of the sketch as I didn’t have anymore room!

SS-166

Thanks for stopping by my little space today. I hope that you will join myself and my team-mates this week over at the Sketch Saturday Challenge. We are being sponsored by The Craft Barn with this fabulous prize from Tim Holtz’s collection:

You won’t have long to wait for the new Whiff of Joy stamps. They will be released as of August 1st!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day.

La~La Land Friday Inspiration ~ Center Step-Card

*** Please scroll down one post for my Little Darling Blog Hop Post***

Happy Friday! Once again it is time to show you my take on this week’s  La-Land Land Crafts Inspiration Friday challenge. This week we were challenged to create a Center Step-Card. I have a video ~here~ that shows you how I make mine.

Every Monday and Friday La-La Land Crafts new Design Team will be bringing you a new inspirational theme. You are more than welcome to play along as we would love to see your creations with La-La Land Craft stamps. Please link your projects to our Customer Gallery.

I have used one of the new CHA releases for my card. This is Princess Marci and she is from the 2011 Fairy-tale Collection.

LALA2011 - Page 186

The paper I used is by Kaiser Craft’s 6.5” paper pad: Chanteuse Collection. It is a little hard to tell from the photo but the paper on the side and bottom panels is foil-embossed. It is really very pretty.

The sentiment stamped along the bottom is by Stampin’ Up.

LALA2011 - Page 187

Copic Sketch Markers Used (also used Sakura Stardust pen for crown and lace on dress)

  • Skin: E000, E00, E01, R20
  • Hair: E50, YR30, E31, E33

Little Darlings Release Blog Hop

Happy Friday Everyone! I am delighted to have been asked to take part in the Little Darlings New Release Blog Hop!

I you haven’t come here from Mindy’s blog, then please head on over to the start of the hop at the Love to Stamp Store Blog.

LDBackToSchoolLogo

You can see the entire new release in the banner above. Aren’t these images sweet? I chose to use the sweet cheerleader stamp: “Go Team Go” for my card.

July 2011 - Page 220

One of the things I love and find so striking about these Little Darling images is the sense of movement in the illustrations! Another is the wonderful expressions on each little face. You can feel the joy and energy of this little cheerleader!

My image was coloured with Copic Sketch markers and I added the sky and the grass by sponging in with Jenni Bowlin inks: Soap Powder & Stick Candy. The papers are by October Afternoon. I think it is the Fly a Kite Collection.

July 2011 - Page 216

My card layout is pretty simple so I added some machine stitching for a little interest and also added some gorgeous checked May Arts ribbon. It is one of my favourites! The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

July 2011 - Page 217

It wouldn’t be a blog hop without some prizes, so I am delighted to tell you that everyone on the hop will be giving away a stamp. So, if you would like a chance to win this sweet Go Team Go image, please leave a comment at the end of my post. I will pick a winner on August 4th.

The next stop on the hop is Myrna! Enjoy the hop!

This & That

Happy Thursday Everyone! I have no card for you today. As you know, if you read my blog, I have been busy with visitors and kids and just general summer things. In other words…very little crafty time for me but I do have things that are in the works and there will be some new cards the next couple of days.

This week, my middle son is attending a Hockey Goalie camp which is a very intense week and he is loving it. I have been spending a lot of time sitting in a very cold arena! Oh the joys of boys. The Canadian Olympic speed skating team has also been using the rink premises as well so I have been watching them practice. Very cool!

So, I have a bunch of things to tell you today. One very exciting thing is that I was lucky to be picked to be a Tickled Pink Team member for the next 3 months! Yay! I was a guest this past month and had a blast. I adore these fun stamps and am so happy to have the opportunity to work with them for awhile longer!

I am will be working on the new release in the next week or so and let me tell you, it is fantastic. Can’t wait to start sharing with you.

Another exciting piece of  news is that Lacey is going to be carrying Magnolia stamps in her store; Stamp & Create! To celebrate this news, she is having an AMAZING candy over at the store blog. Please click the photo below to be taken to the right place to enter!

The new Magnolia "Winner Takes it All" Collection is now available for Pre-Order...

As well, the sneak peeks have begun for the fabulous new release form Whiff of Joy! I currently am working up new cards. Stop by on Saturday to see a new one!

Tomorrow I will have a new card featuring a stamp from La-La Land Craft Stamps new CHA release and as well, I am guest DT-ing for another fabulous stamps company. Come take a peek tomorrow!

That is it for now! Thanks for stopping by. I have to get back to my craft table!

Whiff of Joy August Sneak Peek

Happy Tuesday and Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy! He has been counting the days down since the beginning of the month. I wrote the dates on a little post-it and every morning the first thing he does when he gets up is to mark an “x” on the date! Today is his big day and he can’t be any more excited!

Today I want to share a little sneak peek of Whiff of Joy’s August release. This month it is all about sweet Henry the mouse and is a travel theme. I am loving it!

july - Page 215

The paper is by Paper House Productions and I bought it with this collection in mind. I love the vintage tone to the colors of the map and all the licence plates. I coloured Henry up to match and then stamped a flourish around the edges with Memory Box Soft Wheat ink. The sentiment is also Whiff of Joy from an earlier 2011 collection called you are my hero. There are new sentiments being released with the August release but I wanted one the would fill the empty space at the left of my image and this one was perfect.

july - Page 214

The heart border and the pennant were made with Whiff of Joy metal dies. There are new ones coming in August as well. Mine are on there way so you’ll be seeing them soon!

july - Page 213

Here are the links for the products available now and the rest will be released August 1st!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Sketch Saturday Week # 165

Happy Saturday! I am a very happy camper as we seem to have sorted out all the little glitches with the new computer and things are super smooth and something else that I love: FAST! I cannot believe the difference from this one and my old one. I am also loving the ease and finesse of Windows 7!

Today I have my Sketch Saturday DT card to show you. I have had this lovely Hanglar stamp for a little while now and I couldn’t wait any longer to color her up. I don’t often use green as my main color in a card but thought I would for a change.

2011 - Page 203

The sweet Hanglar was coloured with my beloved copic markers and  image panel was sponged with Jenni Bowlin Stick candy ink. I layered my ribbons for some added interest. I used Stampin’ Up seam binding and May Arts crochet lace. The flowers are from my stash. I have had them for ages and ages.

Here is another angle:

2011 - Page 204

I would also like to enter this card in the Papertake Weekly challenge which is “ Getting Cute”.

Here is the wonderful sketch. I hope you can join in with us this week! We are being sponsored by Your Next Stamp!

Have a great day!

Pink Ink Sketch Challenge Week #2

***to see my La-La Land Craft post for today, please scroll one post down***

Happy Friday! WOW! Thanks for the response to our first Pink Ink Sketch Challenge! You certainly wowed us with your gorgeous creations and your wonderful comments were so very much appreciated. Our winners and top 3 will soon be posted over at the Pink Ink Sketch blog!

Now, onto our next challenge. Today’s sketch is by the amazing Kellie and her store Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring the prize for this fortnight! Can’t ask for anything better than that!

july 2011 - Page 209

I fell in love with this sweet TP image the moment that I saw it. Her name is Lil Little Lolita Ivy. She reminds me so much of Alice in Wonderland! I used some of my current favourite paper: October Afternoon’s School Collection. I love the color combo and of course used it to help choose my copic markers.

july 2011 - Page 210

I tied some PTI gingham ribbon just for a little contrast and the sentiment was created with a MFT stamp and die set and Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup ink.

Here is the sketch for you to play with. Remember this is a bi-weekly challenge so you have loads of time to join in!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I have a ton of things to do. My little one is turning 6 next week and I am having a Birthday BBQ for him this Sunday. I want to go and tidy up the gardens but this heat wave we are having is CRAZY! All I can cope with is watering early in the morning before it gets too hot. Yesterday it was 41 C with the humidex factor!

La-La land Crafts CHA Release & Inspiration Friday!

Happy Friday Everyone! Sorry for being pretty much MIA this last week. It has been a busy one. We’ve had family visiting so that pretty much eats into a lot of my free time. My hubby and I both needed new computers as ours were older and mine was pretty much at capacity, space-wise. Our computer geek/expert cousin has been here since Tuesday getting everything done for us. Had a couple of heart attacks along the way when we couldn’t get things working and I have a bit of a learning curve now that I have Windows 7. Still a few kinks to work out. When I upload my pictures directly to Blogger or Facebook I no longer can see the thumbnails/icons which is a little frustrating but hopefully we will figure out the problem and get it  all worked out. I am super happy because my computer is super fast. Holy Smokes. I was stunned at how fast it now is! Our cousin said that he couldn’t believe how I was working on the other one!  I will be able to comment a lot more now that it doesn’t take such a long time! So I might be visiting you soon Smile

So, because of the all this, I was not able to post this Sneak Peek card showing one of the delicious La-La Land Craft stamps being shown at the CHA. In case you missed it, you can see a bunch of sneak peeks and have the chance to win some copic markers at the blog ~here~.  The stamps will be available as a pre-order as of the 23rd.

Here is Sunny Christmas Marci!

2011 - Page 206

Irina thought she would be perfect for our friends Down Under who celebrate Christmas in their Summer-time. All I know is that she is adorable! I found this piece of patterned paper in my scrap drawer and thought it was just the thing! I embossed the sentiment (Stampin’Up) with white powder directly onto the paper. I really like this look. All that was needed was a bit of this May Arts ribbon to finish it off!

I have another card to show you and this one is for La-Land Land Crafts Inspiration Friday and our challenge this week was to create a boy-themed card and to use brads/eyelets.

Every Monday and Friday La-La Land Crafts new Design Team will be bringing you a new inspirational theme. You are more than welcome to play along as we would love to see your creations with La-La Land Craft stamps. Please link your projects to our Customer Gallery.

Here is another new release. This one is from the Fairytale Collection.

Here is Sir Luka!

july 2011 - Page 207

I have had this paper from DCWV for ages now and this was the perfect image to use it with. I colored Luka in tones of warm gray. I haven’t added a sentiment yet. I’ll wait until I know who the recipient will be and what the occasion will be!

Sketch Saturday Week # 164

Happy Saturday! Just a quick post from me today :)

I have my Sketch Saturday card to show you today and it is a bit of a departure color-scheme-wise for me! I have had this older Tilda for a long time now and have never inked her up! I recently got some October Afternoon Modern Homemaker paper and it was from here that I drew my color scheme. A little retro, but fun!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 202

I used those Stampin’ Up brads that let you add your own patterned paper. I haven’t used them very much but when you don’t have any brad that matches (as was my case) they are a real life-saver! The border and the pennant were made with MFT metal dies.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 201

Here is the fun sketch….as you can see, I strayed a bit this week :)

SS-164

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Bunny Zoes Crafts store. They have a tremendous selection of all the very newest items so the winner is going to be very lucky!

Thanks for stopping by and thanks to all my sweet friends for their b-day wishes! Yes, I am another year older but as long as you don’t look it or feel it…it’s all good! I had a wonderful day, spoiled by my 4 men!

La-La Land Crafts Friday Inspiration ~ A Sketch

Happy Friday! Hope you are having a fabulous day so far! Anyone going to see the new & final Harry Potter film? I am such a big fan of the books and the movies but I am going to wait until next week to see the movie. I think hubby would faint if I insisted on seeing in the day it opens. Besides, I think you would have had to buy your tickets online if you even wanted a chance!

My card today is for La-La Land Crafts Friday Inspiration and this week we have a luscious sketch by Michele to inspire us. Look at it! It is so pretty!

I have been longing to use this adorable Marci Ballerina for a while now and finally got her inked up and ready to color in!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 199

I went with a nice rose color and took some time to add some depth by adding tones of grey around the image. It really makes the image “pop” right off the paper.

The papers (I will admit to using just last Friday) were lying on my craft table and I just thought they were a pretty good match. I did tone down the pink a little by embossing a Stampelgelde grunge corner stamp and a Hero Arts envelope stamp over on top of the paper with some white embossing powder. It helped soften it up and I like the delicate look it brings.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 200

Copic Markers:

Hair: E41, E43, Y21
Clothing: R000, R81, R83, R85, G20, G82

Hope you enjoyed our fun challenge. We hope to see your cards in the customer gallery.  Thanks for stopping by!

Tickled Pink Lil Littles Blog Hop

Happy Tuesday! Today is the day that the amazing new Lil Littles release from Tickled Pink Stamps is available to purchase! To celebrate they are having a blog hop and I am so delighted to be able to take part in it. It has been such an awesome experience to be a guest this month!

I am the last stop on the hop, so if you did not come here from Yani’s blog, then you should go to the Tickled Pink Blog and start the hop from there.

dsc_6853

For my blop hop card, I decided to use Lil Little Kellita. Isn’t she sweet with this wee bird perched on her hand? I chose some really quaint and girly paper from Girl’s Paperie and added some machine stitching. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday and I thought it would look nice to have the last word in a different color of ink. To do this, I put some tape across the “everyday” and then inked up the stamp with Versafine Black Onyx ink. I then pulled the tape off and stamped onto some very vanilla cardstock. Then I cleaned and dried the stamp and repeated the process with some Jenni Bowlin Bubblegum ink, only this time, I taped the first three lines off and inked only the “everyday”. Easy Peasy and it looks great!

dsc_6852

So, since I am the last stop, the next place to go is the Tickled Pink Blog! There will be of course a prize so please be sure to comment!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous day!

Tickled Pink Lil Littles Release Day # 5

Happy Sunday! I had a fantastic day yesterday. My sister had us over for a wee Birthday BBQ. Since my hubby and I have b-days that are only 12 days apart, she has one BBQ to celebrate both of us! She always makes the same Shish Kebab BBQ dinner that my Daddy always made me so it is a day that I treasure for sure. She also made one of my favorite desserts….cheesecake! Yum, Yum double Yum. This morning I still feel full. Looks like I am going to have to hop on the elliptical machine for awhile! LOL!

Once again, I am joining in with the Tickled Pink Design team as their guest to help preview their new release which will be available on July 12th. Introducing:

The Lil Littles!

Today we are showcasing Lil Little Willow. She is just so sweet but with a hit of attitude shinign from her eyes! LOVE HER! If you like her as much as I do then you will be happy to know that you will have a chance to win her! More about that at the end of this post!

LALA2011 - Page 191

I used some new DP from Stampin’ Up and pulled out the same color palette to color her up with my Copic Markers. Again, I created a little tag to add to the card using Technique Tuesday stamps and distress inks.

LALA2011 - Page 190

Hope you enjoyed taking a wee peek  at my card featuring Lil Little Willow. As I mentioned at the beginning of my post, you have the chance to win this cutie! Just leave a comment at the  Tickled Pink Stamps blog post. At the same time you will be able to see the gorgeous creations by the rest of the Tickled Pink team!

Take Care! I am off to make a batch of Strawberry Jam. My hubbie was up early (he let me sleep in) and when I got up, I saw that he had washed and hulled all the berries for me. Is that love or what? Of course, he has a vested interest in the jam! I make jam in the summer and he enjoys it all winter long!

Then we are off sailing in the afternoon. My son is quite the little sailor at 13 and since he goes to lessons at the Nautical center, we get to take the boats out free of charge. Is that not fabulous?

Have a great one!

Sketch Saturday #163

Happy Saturday! Whew! It was has been a busy week on my blog! Lots of card postings so scroll down in case you missed some of them!

Today’s card is my Sketch Saturday DT card and I was totally inspired by the sweet sketch that Jo created. I love this little Tilda from the Rainbow collection and I colored her in a sweet baby blue color. I then masked her and sponged in the sky.

July 2011 - Page 196

The very pretty and girly paper is by Girl’s Paperie. I decided to pick out the red from the tiny flowers and used that color for some of the embellishments. Such a nice, fresh look. The ticket was made using a sentiment set from Rainbow Echo Drop designs and was cut out with the matching metal die. Both are from Whimsy stamps. I used Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup ink (I just love the names of her ink). I tied some PTI bakers twine around in and mounted it on my card with foam adhesive.

July 2011 - Page 195

Here is the sketch:

SS-163

Hope you can join in our challenge this week. We have Simon Says Stamp sponsoring us this week with a fabbie gift certificate!

Have a great day. We are off to a BBQ at my sister’s today and the weather looks like it will be perfect.

Hugs Jeanette xxo
