High Hopes Challenge ~ Orange & Brown and a Circle!

High Hopes Stamps - Page 025

Happy Sunday! Thanks for stopping by! This week the High Hopes Challenge was picked by Amy who wants us to use orange & brown and a circle on our card! I decided to use this cute Tidy up Tillie stamp that has sat uninked for far too long! She is colored with copic markers and then prismacolor pencils & OMS. I added a little bit of Polar White flower soft on the ground and on her dust-pan. She is working hard to clean up all that dust!

The DP is by Cosmo Cricket and the raffia lace is from Bunny-Zoes store. The brown gingham ribbon and the charm are from Stamp & Create.  I did a little paper piercing along the edges for some extra interest.

If you are looking to purchase High Hopes stamps why not check out our Diva's stores.

I hope you can join us this week! Check out our very cool prize! Isn’t he too much!

Well today is the last day of the Olympics and I must say we have been spending a lot of time watching it. Wow! It has been amazing. I have a friend over there right now. He is part of the staff helping the athletes to their different venues and he just emailed a picture of himself with Wayne Gretzky! Can you imagine! We were actually out celebrating a friend’s birthday when he sent it to his sister who was also with us. So we were all passing around her phone to have a look. Too much!

Have a great day!

Friday Sketchers & Wags Challenges

Happy Friday! Today I have two cards to show you! The other day when I was working on my cards, I was just……stuck. I just couldn’t seem to get the cards together. The images were colored and waiting but my Mojo must have taken a break. Then the mail arrived and along with it, my DT package from Stamp & Create and Lacey had sent me the most exquisite ribbon and lace! OMGosh, they are so luxurious I think it is almost sinful! LOL! I instantly set to work incorporating them into my cards and now I get to show them to you!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 072

This first card is for the Friday Sketchers challenge. It is the wonderful Carole’s turn to host this week and her sketch is just fantastic. I am using one of the stamps that is in the Whiff of Joy’s February Stamp kit and the image is also from the kit. Isn’t this such a sweet image? She is colored with a combo of copic markers and twinkling H20s and I airbrushed the background with my Copic ABS. For this card, I used the crochet and satin lace from Stamp & Create. I love that you can still see a little bit through it to the DP which is a scrap from K&Co. The finishing touches are the prima flower and the fancy tag for the sentiment! In this next picture you can see the Twinkling H20s a little better.

This next card is for the Wags ‘n Whiskers challenge. This week it is “Freestyle”! I have used one of our newly release stamps. This one is called Snuzzle Love. What a cutie she is and a dream to color! She is colored with copic markers and I added the shading around the image with a prismacolor pencil & OMS. On this card I used the antique gold silk ribbon from Stamp & Create. Look at it! There are a whole bunch of other gorgeous colors and it feels so light and soft and makes the most beautiful bows. I used my Bow-Easy of course! I added a few prima flowers and the little pearls are from the bridal department at a craft store.

Gate Fold Card Tutorial for Stamp Shoppe

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by today. I have a fun card to show you featuring an easy fold that adds a little extra pop to your card! I have created a tutorial for you to follow and it is posted on the Stamp Shoppe blog.

I have used the very sweet Magnolia Chef Tilda and Love Muffin. The patterned paper is Magnolia as well from the Yummy Tummy Sampler. The beautiful frame on the front is Provincial Applique by Melissa Frances. My two sentiments are from SU! but I wish I had -->this<—sentiment instead. It is a little more elegant.

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight

Stamp & Create - Page 025Happy Monday! Wow! I need a couple of days off to recover from my week-end! LOL! How about you?

My post is up a bit later today. I usually schedule my posts the night before because the mornings here are busy getting everyone breakfast, making lunches and trying to get the two older kidlets to school. Last night we went night skiing with the kids! They got to bed about an hour past their bedtime but we has such a great time! The snow was really packed down and so it was some pretty fast skiing. My legs are killing me this morning! I was too tired to write my post last night.

Stamp & Create - Page 025

This week the product spotlight over at Stamp & Create is Kraftin’ Kimmie stamps! They are so cute and I decided to use this sweet one for my card today. It is called “Shy Emmylou” and is from the Crissy’s Cuties line. Since they are the spotlight, that means that all the Kraftin’ Kimmie stamps (excluding the new release) will be on sale for 25% off. OMGosh that is an incredible deal!

I colored her with my copics and airbrushed the background. I even airbrushed the cute daisy lace on my card to match the DP. Pretty cool what you can do with the Copic ABS!

High Hopes Challenge ~ It seemed like a good idea….

High Hopes Stamps - Page 024

Happy Sunday! Here is my card for this week’s High Hopes challenge. Our guest diva Melanie has asked us to add some texture to your card!

I just had to ink up this funny little dragon. He is one of the new Dustin Pike images and is called “Troubled Travis”. The sentiment is so perfect to go along with the image and isn’t so true. To add texture I embossed some of my cardstock and I distressed the edges of my two inner panels. They look just about as roughed up as poor little Travis! I found the sketch for my card from this week’s Mojo Monday.

High Hopes Stamps - Page 024

  • Stamps: High Hopes Troubled Travis, HH Sentiment
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Bashful Blue, Papertrey Perfect Plum
  • Coloring: Copic Markers and Prismacolors with OMS
  • Embellies: Papertrey Ribbon, brads from stash

If you are looking to purchase High Hopes stamps why not check out our Diva's stores.

I really hope you can join in the challenge this week! I have been trying to get around to all the entrants of the challenge to check out your cards!

Tilda is colored with Copic markers and I added some high-light with a white gel pen. I also used the pen to add some faux stitching to my card elements after I had paper-pierced them. The sentiment was embossed with some white embossing powder.

  • Sentiment from Whiff of Joy
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

WOJ Coupon Folder

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 066

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a love-ly Valentine’s Day yesterday! I was so completely spoiled. I am the only “girl” in my house so I had 4 boys showering me with cards, gifts and love! I am so lucky!

To top it all off, we all went night skiing for about 2½ hours. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The little guy is getting a lot more confident on his skis and doesn’t need a harness anymore. He was so funny. He said he didn’t want to do S’s anymore, he wanted to do I’s! OMGosh! So basically he didn’t want to go slowly from side to side on the slope, he wanted to go straight down! Yup, he is just like his older brothers who can ski circles around me!

So today I don’t have a creation to post on my blog. Instead I will direct you to the Whiff of Joy Inspiration and Tutorial blog where I have posted a tutorial to make this cute coupon folder that features, of course, Willow Shopping.

I confess, I clip coupons. There, I said it. I have it down to a fine art and I had a plastic folder that I store them in and they ARE categorized. LOL!

I was shopping with a friend a week or so ago and I whipped it out and she looked at me and said “What?!! You don’t have a fancy, decorated folder? I am shocked!”

Well, she planted the seed and here are the results. I LOVE it! So, hopefully you will go and have a look! -->Here<--  is the link! If you end up making one, please link it to this post. I would love to see it!

Be Mine ~ High Hopes Challenge

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 048

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Sending you very happy wishes for a wonderful day! I am pre-scheduling my post….I am going to be watching the Olympics tonight. Once the kiddies are in bed, I can set the table for breakfast and then put their Valentine Chocolate gifts at their places. They will for sure sneak down in the morning to take a peek! Hubby also gets one…..their favorite is Lindor Chocolates!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 048

This week the challenge at High Hopes was set by Sirpa and she chose a fun recipe:

3 buttons, 3 flowers, 3 patterned papers

I love this type of challenge because I create a card I wouldn’t have dreamt of without the recipe! This one is for my hubby for Valentine’s day! We have a thing for anything with moose ever since our encounter with one while we were camping. This was ages ago, before the kids even. All I can tell you is that boy, they are BIG and they have a very distinct odor!

If you are looking to purchase High Hopes stamps why not check out our Diva's stores.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can join us in the challenge! We have a fabulous HH stamp up for grabs every week!

Sketch Saturday DT Card

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 046

Happy Saturday! I have my DT card for Sketch Saturday to show you today! We are being sponsored this week by: Simon Says Stamp!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 046

I have used this amazing stamp from the new City Girl Collection from Whiff of Joy! Boy, these cuties just went so fast but they are now back in stock over at the online store so if you weren’t able to get them last week…they are there now but I am not sure for how long!

When I saw Jo’s sketch I had the idea to punch holes and thread my ribbon through them ending in a bow instead of just adhering something down. When I was coloring Willow, I couldn’t resist giving her a cheeks a rosy blush….she looks slight abashed at all her bags. I paper-pieced two of them.

I LOVE this paper and am so sad that I only had the one sheet! It was the inspiration when I chose my copic markers!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 047

At the same time as I made this card, I made a little something else too. You can see it here in the picture above but you will have to wait until Monday and go to the WOJ tutorial post to see exactly what it is! LOL! I have prepared a little tutorial for you all to follow!

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.  We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog!
