Spread Joy Not Germs Blog Hop

Welcome to the Spread Joy Not Germs Blog Hop!  This is a huge hop with 145 participating blogs, 31 sponsors and tons of prizes, discounts and freebies.  This is going to be lots of fun so pour yourself a cuppa and settle in for some fun and inspiration! Prizes will be randomly drawn from all the blogs and all the comments, so I encourage you to leave as many comments on as many blogs as you can!
For full details, the hop list, or if you get lost along the way,  you can visit the Catherine Pooler  or Hedgerow Hollow blogs.

I am one of many of the Design Team  members who are representing Whimsy Stamps on this hop. Here is my card:

I used the digital image Amy for my card and created a vibrant background for her using papers from the Flourishing Blooms digital paper pack.  I absolutely love the ease and the instant gratification that comes from using digital products! I printed onto Copic X-pressit paper and colored everything up using a mix of copic markers and polycromos pencils.  I love using these two mediums together!  The sentiments are from the Camp Critters stamp set and were heat embossed with Wow White embossing powder.  The sentiment embossed onto black card-stock was die-cut using one of the dies in the Quick Strip Die set.

World Cardmaking Day |Whimsy Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to World Card Making Day with Whimsy Stamps!  We are so excited for you to join the fun today with an amazing blog hop from the talented Whimsy artists.  Each blog will have some inspiration with a card perfect for World Card Making Day.
Today, I would like to share my project using some of the gorgeous stamps and dies that Whimsy has to offer! You will find the product names and links at the bottom of this post!

I created another December Daily Album page using the lovely.  Eleanor Rubber StampI colored her up with copic markers and added a soft yellow background by masking the image and then airbrushing using my Copic ABS.  I love the effect it gives and I really have to remember to use it more often.  I kept the page very simple to let the image shine. I framed the image with a white frame made using the Shaker Maker Rectangular Die SetI created the word “JOY” using the Bold ABC Die SetI cut each letter in both red and white cardstock so that I could layer them together to create a shadow effect so that the word stands out on the page.  The only embellishement was a die-cut leaf from the Leaf Foliage 2 Die SetI tied a small piece of red and white bakers twine around the end of the stem just to tie it in with the red of the ornament in the image.

The card making community is so wonderful and Denise the owner of Whimsy Stamps wanted to share her appreciation with a fun day filled with inspiration, prizes and freebies.   Make sure to comment on each blog post to be eligible for the prizes.  In order to get the beautiful freebies that will be available make sure to join our Whimsy Stamps and InspirationFacebook group.
If you happened upon my blog without knowing there is a blog hop today, make sure to start at the beginning so you don't miss any of the wonderful inspiration and prize opportunities!!!

Digi Bells Blog Hop + Videos

Happy Friday! Welcome to the Digi Bells Blog Hop! Although my Guest Term is over I am excited to be part of this fun hop and to share  the newly released digital images for Digi Bells! This month there are 2 images that are being released.

If you didn’t come here from Alethea’s blog the head over to the start of the hop at the Digi Bells Blog.

By leaving a comment at each stop of the hop, you have a chance to win these sweet digital images.

Let’s get started. First we have

 Mommy's Little Helper

This is so darn sweet :) It reminds me of the days of feeding my wee boys. Oh the preparing and mashing and freezing in little ice-cube trays. I enjoyed the whole process. Especially feeding them and watching their reactions to new foods!

I wanted to create an Art Journal page for myself using this image so I printed it so that it would fit my page which is 6x8”. This is the wonderful thing about digital images. They can be sized to perfectly fit whatever project you are creating.

When I create pages for my Art Journal, I tend to use bits and pieces of patterned paper from my stash. Whether it is a whole page which I am hoarding, or a wee bit that I just couldn’t bear to throw away, I am able to use it up in my art journal. These papers came from an old MME paper pack. The large butterfly  and wreath were die-cut using Whiff of Joy dies. They are  no longer available but perhaps you already have them or if not there are similar ones still on the market. The smaller butterflies were made with a Martha Stewart punch.

Tea Set Accessory

I paired this sweet Tea Accessory set up with an old favorite image from Whiff of Joy that is now a new digital stamp. So happy to color this friend up again :) One of my most favorite images ever. Again, this is an art journal page celebrating one of my favorite things in the world: Tea!

I used some old Stampin’ Up paper that I have been keeping for far too long. I also paired it up with some die-cuts. The doily was from Whiff of Joy but sadly is not available anymore. The same goes with the sentiment. The upper border was cut from a die from MFT but I can’t find it on the web-site. There are many comparable dies that you can find that will give the same look. The gems were from Stampin’ Up and the $ store. The crochet flower was gifted to me many moons ago and I am finally going to stop hoarding it.

When creating my page, I made it multi-dimensional. Meaning I cut the image many times and layered one over top the other to create dimension. I created a video sharing how I did it. You can see it and a coloration video below. This is very basic. You could create many more layers and height if you want and if you are patient!
