Happy Friday! It has been quite a week for me. We had a great Easter but I did something to my back on Monday and it has taken the whole week for me to get over it. I guess I am getting old but a pinched nerve is painful!
I do have a fun new card and video to share with you. You may have noticed how much I love elephants and Whimsy Stamps has quite a few new elephant images that are absolutely adorable.
For today’s card, I wanted to try some no-line coloring. Basically you stamp the image with a very light ink that “disappears” once you start coloring. I am by no means a master at this technique but I do love the soft effect. In today’s video, I share how I do it. Since I used pretty light colors, you can still see a hint of the ink I used to stamp with. If you used darker colors, that ink will just disappear! The background is airbrushed on with my Copic ABS. I love, love how this looks. Just to let you know, I have the big blue compressor for air but you can buy the system and the air canisters for way cheaper. I have provided links to all options in the supplies area.
For the sentiment, I used a large word die to cut out “friend” using some Neenah cardstock. I then used the same markers I had used to color the flowers to color the word, creating an ombre effect by making the bottom portion darker and the top portion lighter. I love, love how this turned out!
