Happy Saturday Everyone! It is the last Saturday of the month and that means that it is time for our monthly project theme! Every month, the Whiff of Joy Design Team has worked on the same Project theme and we have posted all our interpretations on this blog the last Saturday of each month! This is the last one for 2013!
I took the opportunity to combine a sneak peek with the monthly project. This sweet image of Angel Maya will be released in digi form on December 2nd!:
This is one of my favorite makes from this month so far. I love to use stamps for more than just cards and scrapbooking. Hand-made Christmas ornaments are always fun to create. I found the frame in Michels and got it for less than $2. It is laser cut wood and the design is so pretty. I sprayed it with some Krylon adhesive glue and then sprinkled Glitter Ritz in Stardust over top. I burnished it really well using the tip of my finger and it looks vintage and sparkles and is pretty much perfect :)
Then, I used glue dots to adhere a small piece of printed acetate to the back. This way, the Angel can be glued onto that and look like it is suspended within the ornament. The image was colored up with Copics and then I added some Sakura glitter pen over top the halo and the star.
To create a fun little addition to the top of the ornament, I glued one of the charms from the new Christmas WoJ charm set. It also serves as a place to add your hook so that you can hang your ornament on your tree. I decided to add another charm to the bottom. This time, I used some old ball chain link I had to suspend the charm. Then I added a decorative brad to cover where the chain is adhered to the frame.
Here are some shots that I took without my flash. I really captures the warm tones of the glitter ritz and the depth of shadowing on her dress.
and here are close-ups of the charms :)
Thanks for swinging by. You can see all the wonderful Christmas decor projects from my fellow teamies by going to the World of Ideas blog. I was totally blown away with all their Christmas decor projects. Totally. Amazing.
