~ Whiff of Joy ~ Sneak Peek of New August Release

Happy Thursday! I am so happy to finally be sharing my creation for the new Whiff of Joy August Release. The theme is after my own heart as I love to sew (knit and crochet) When I first saw the new collection, I have to admit…I did a happy dance!

The new collection will be available on August 11th, which is also the day of our blog hop!

I worked on a project for this release and I will be sharing it in stages over the next few days. I made a Circle Flip Up book, but adjusted the size to accommodate the size of the images. You can see my original video tutorial here.

Here is the front of the book and a look at how it opens up:

I don’t have the new Sewing Themed die-lights yet…they are on their way to me so I am being patient. Meanwhile, there are so many other wonderful Die-lights to choose from, I was able to decorate my book :)

The base of the book is made with SU! Crumb Cake card-stock. I used an old CM cutter to cut the card-stock in a 8.75” circle but you can use your Silhouette die-cutting machine or any other tools to do the same. You can even trace and cut a dinner plate. The patterned paper is also SU! and is pretty old…just left-overs from packs that I pulled out to match my images.

Here is the front and back. I adhered the ribbon onto the book before adding the paper so that it is underneath.

I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is to use triangles and the Papertake Weekly challenge which is anything goes. I think my card is pretty triangular in shape!
