Welcome to the March Whiff of Joy Blog Hop! If you didn’t come here from Katharina’s blog blog, then head on over there because she is the start of the hop and I don’t want you to miss a single stop on this hop!
This month, we are switching things up a little bit and have a Spring-themed hop! With so many amazing images released in the months of January & February, we aren’t releasing any new ones this month, instead we are celebrating Spring with some gorgeous decor and gift ideas! All the images we have used today are already available and waiting for you at our Whiff of Joy on-line store!
This month, because we love you and are grateful for your amazing support, we are giving away 6 of our Norma Fickel Gnome stamps to one very lucky winner. The winner will be drawn from the comments on our DT blogs. At the end of the hop, go to the Whiff of Joy World of Ideas Blog, let us know that you have left a comment at each stop of the hop by using the inlinkz tool and you will be entered for a chance to win! A complete list of the hop is also at this blog, just in case you get lost along the way!
The hop will remain open until midnight CEST midnight Wednesday March 20th. Winners will be announced by Katharina on her blog.
I was inspired by all the gorgeous dies, stamps, papers that are in the Whiff of Joy store and decided to create a Spring display to add to a table that sits inside my house beside the entryway. In my mind, I could see some pretty rosettes of varying sizes sitting in some painted flower pots. I headed out to my local Michaels (how exciting is it to have one nearby now) and bought the clay flower pots, acrylic paint and this little ceramic bird which also made its way into my basket. This in fact inspired me to pull out some plain plastic eggs that I have had for a few years and create some very pretty eggs.
Once I had painted the pots (light aqua blue inside and a cream for the outside) I added some washi tape around the top edge. It is so simple but looks so fantastic and really elevates the look. The eggs were painted with the blue and then I sponged some of the cream onto them and also added some brown flecks to make them look more realistic.
The rosettes were made with a variety of things. The larger two were made with my Silhouette SD and the centers were made with one of the Whiff Joy Die-lights. I used the same Die-light to create the smaller flower and then I had the idea to use the Doily Die-light to create yet another shape. I added some buttons and brads to furthur embellish them.
Finally, I found this sweet frame at Michaels and just knew that I could add this image to it to complete my Spring vignette. I colored the image with Distress Markers and Twinkling H20s. I just love the subtle shimmer you get with this little paint pots! I used another Die-light to add some grass texture to the scene.
Here are some links and supply information for you :)
I used Martha Stewart Multi-surface Satin Acrylic Paint In Summer Linen and Surf for the flower pots. These, the frame, pots and bird were all bought at Michaels. The eggs and straw were from my stash and the buttons are Salebration products from Stampin’Up.
Your next stop is our lovely Guest Designer Linda’s blog!
Enjoy our Spring Hop!
