Happy Thursday! I literally received Happy Mail yesterday! My DT kit from Whiff of Joy arrived yesterday with the new release stamps “Happy Mail”. You don’t have long to wait. They will be released January 9th. They are all so wonderful and I had such a hard time picking out which one to ink up first! I love being in that kind of a dilemma! LOL!
I have to tell you that this image was so much fun to color and shade. The mail-box is what made me use this one first. I had such a fun time coloring it! Since it is a brand new stamp, I can enter it in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge as the theme this week is “something new”.
I will tell you something funny. This is why I love Copic markers. I had spent quite a bit of time coloring up the mail-box and I was really happy with how it turned out. Then I moved on to Charlotte. Bear in mind, I was supervising my two older kids’ homework and trying to occupy the 4 year old so he wouldn’t disturb them. After I finished coloring Charlotte, I realized that I had colored one lower sleeve pink and one aqua! Oh no! I was so noticeable but I did NOT want to start over so I took my blender pen and removed as much of the color as possible and then because there were still faint traces of each color…….I covered them both up with purple! So you have learned a few things. First I am a bit of a twit and second the blender pen is a magic eraser!
I lightly airbrushed the background with BG000 and sponged the edges with Weathered wood distress ink. Here are the Copic Markers that I used:
- Stamps: Whiff of Joy 2010 Happy Mail: available –>here<—on January 9th
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
- Paper: SU Real Red & Pink Pirouette, Daisy Bucket DP
- Coloring: Copic Markers
- Embellies: Prima Flower, Doodlebug flowers, SU ribbon
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked my first peek of Happy Mail! I will have another 2 cards to show you tomorrow. Sorry if I have been a little MIA this week. My hubby has been away on a business trip so it is just me and the 3 boys for this week!
