Love Grows Happiness ~ Sketch Saturday DT Card

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 012

Happy Saturday Everyone! Today I have my card for Sketch Saturday to show you. Our sponor this week is our own lovely Emma and she is generously offering a Stampin’Up tag punch! WOW! Emma sells SU products in the UK so if you need any of their products, she is the one to contact! She is also having special promotions at the moment!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 012

For my card  I have used the Charlotte with Birdcage stamp from Whiff of Joy’s new release: Happy Mail. I love the sense of movement in this image, I almost expect to see the bird’s wings flutter! Now, I have been somewhat naughty and not been too faithful to Jo’s lovely sketch but I made this one just last night and by the time I realized that the proportions were a little off…it was too late. So I would have to say that my card is “loosely based” on the sketch! LOL! I wrapped ribbon through the loops of the frame and I love how it looks. These Spellbinder dies are just fantastic and you can combine them and do so many things. Know I got the idea for this from seeing someone else do something similar but I just can’t remember who…I always try to give credit when it isn’t my idea.

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Charlotte with birdcage
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Bazzil cardstock, Basic Grey Porcelain DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Twinkling H20s, stickles
  • Embellies: Pearls from Stamp & Create, flowers made with Spellbinders die

In this picture you can see the shimmer from the Twinkling H20s. I used Chestnut brown, Pink cloud, Buttercup, and Moss green. All are available -->here<—I think Katharina has most of them back in stock now.

Here are the Copic Markers that I used:

and here is the sketch (do a better job following it than I did LOL!)
