Peace ~ Sketch Saturday

Sketch Saturdays - Page 141

Happy Saturday Everyone! Here is my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday. Our sponsor this week is my dear friend Sandra Dry! Please check out her awesome digi stamps.

This is the last DT card that I had due before the Christmas break so I wanted to make something extra-special with a wonderful sentiment. I decided to use this stamp from last year’s Magnolia Lucia collection. It is not a new stamp but it is new to me.  It is called Tilda as Lucia and is available -->here<--at the Stamp Shoppe. The music stamp that serves as the background is also from a 2008 Magnolia collection.  I stamped it out and then sponged and distressed the edges of my paper. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.  J0’s wonderful sketch  helped create the rest of the card!

Sketch Saturdays - Page 141

  • Stamps: Magnolia Christmas Collection: Tilda as Lucia, Silent Night music, Whiff of Joy sentiment: Peace
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black. SU Chocolate Chip

My children are now on Christmas break now and my DT obligation are over until after the New Year  so I probably will be blogging very sporadically over the next few weeks as I spend time with them and my family.

I am no where near to being where I wanted to be in my Christmas preparations and I am afraid many of my blogging friends will be receiving late cards from me! Next year I will start earlier (didn’t I say that last year too? LOL)

 Wags 'n Whiskers - Page 017

Hi Everyone! I have two DT cards to show you today. The first one is for Friday Sketchers which is being hosted by the mega-talented and very sweet Aud. Our sponsor this week is:

Friday Sketchers - Page 050

I couldn’t resist this cute little WOJ Santa. Isn’t he too sweet? For a change of pace, I have colored him up using tombow markers and twinkling H20s. Did you see that Katharina is now stocking the H20s in her WoJ store. She has ALL her favorite colors as well as the water tank brushes. I admit that I had to get a whole bunch more and am just waiting for them to arrive! I followed her amazing tutorial on how to use them and found it so useful. You can see it -->here<--

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy: buy here -->Santa with Snack<--
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Papertrey, and bit and pieces from my scrap drawer
  • Coloring: Tombow markers, Twinkling H20s- you can buy -->here<--
  • Embellies: Karen Foster brad, SU felt snowflake, sentiment from Craft Secrets kit

Please see my fellow DT sister’s creations: Aud, Bea, Carole, Claudia, Tanja

Now, for my Wags ‘n Whiskers card. The challenge this week is to use punches or dies on your card. I have used one of our newly released stamps “Thinking of You” and once I had it stamped out I thought it would look so nice to cut it out using the Top Notes die from Stampin’ Up.  The sentiment is also SU!

Quick Christmas Card Mass Production

Happy Thursday! I am sure many of you are like me and preparing for Christmas. As you know, I never reproduce my cards but this Christmas I just didn’t have enough cards to send out, so I decided to mass produce a whole bunch. I took a few pictures along the way thinking I could show you all and maybe help you out if you are in the same predicament that I was!

Whiff Of Joy - Page 1561. I started off by stamping out multiples of my image. I used Whiff of Joy Henry Hugging Heart. I used my favorite ink and paper for copic markers: Memento Tuxedo Black & Neenah cardstock. I was able to fit 9 images per page. I then cut them all out with my square Nestbilities die and at the same time I punched out a scalloped mat in red cardstock for each image. I colored the image using Copic markers: E00, E02, E07, E50, E51,E53, E93, R24, R27 and the colorless blender.

Whiff Of Joy - Page 155

2. I used this Martha Stewart punch to cut out a whole bunch of leaves. I punched right over this plastic container so that they all stayed put.

3. I created my card-base by cutting 8.5”x11” cardstock in half to 8.5”x5.5” and then scoring down the middle to create a card measuring 4.25”x5.5”.

4. I cut some patterned paper to measure 4”x5.25” and I also created a fancy border using white cardstock measuring 1.25”x4” and another Martha Stewart punch.

Whiff Of Joy - Page 154

5. Here you can see everything is pre-cut, colored and read for assembling. The only thing I didn’t take a picture of is the tiny adhesive pearls that I used as berries on my card. I colored them red with my copic marker R27.

Whiff Of Joy - Page 153

6. Here is the card all assembled. I was able to crank out 36 of these in one evening and mail them off the next day.

So you see, don’t stress….you can make a really nice card without tons of layers and embellies and you can keep the cost down by making a card this size.

Have a great day!

Stamp & Create DT Card

Stamp & Create - Page 006 Happy Wednesday! Today I want to show you a card I made using one of my brand new stamps that I got from Stamp & Create!

I have wanted to color up one of Kimmie’s new stamps for so long now! I have to say that it was well worth the wait. What a fun image and so perfect if you really love to color! Plus, now I can enter Kimmie’s challenge with a card using one of her images! This week her challenge was to have some sparkle. I think my little adhesive gems and the shimmerz on the dress fit this requirement.

Stamp & Create - Page 006

  • Stamps: Kraftin’ Kimmie’s : Clara (I got mine -->here<--from Stamp & Create)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Red Riding Hood, Baja Breeze, retired DP form last Christmas
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Shimmerz in Sky Blue

The Stamp Shoppe ~ Christmas Tag Challenge

Happy Tuesday! The Stamp Shoppe is having a mini challenge for the month of December. We know that you are super busy with Christmas preparations so this one is easy. Create a tag using a Magnolia stamp. Pretty easy, right? And you’ll probably be needing one (or twenty) soon!

You will find all the details at -–>this<—posting on The Stamp Shoppe Blog. Here is the prize:

I ended up making two tags. I loved that Carla photographed hers hanging in her Christmas tree so I did so as well. Well, they looked so beautiful there, that I left them there and now my tags are ornaments! LOL!

The Stamp Shoppe - Page 029

The Stamp Shoppe - Page 030

  • Stamps: Magnolia So Jolly Collection, Santa Claus sentiment from 2008 Santa Collection
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Red Riding Hood, Green, Very Vanilla
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Shimmerz, Stickles
  • Embellies: May Arts Ribbon

I made the tags using my Spellbinders dies in my cuttlebug. The wreath on the top tag is covered with Flower Soft. I love how it gives different dimensions and textures on the tags! Heidi still has some stamps from the So Jolly Collection so grab them while you can.

Thanks for stopping by!

Wags 'n Whiskers - Page 016

Happy Friday! Today is the Wags ‘n Whiskers Blog Hop and release day of our new collection of stamps! I am the second stop, the first one is the Wags ‘n Whiskers Blog.

I have been super busy these days so I combined the hop with my Friday Sketchers DT card. My lovely friend Carole is the host this week at FS and she has created a sketch that is perfect for a large stamp like this. Our sponsor this week at Friday Sketchers is Simon Says Stamp.

Wags 'n Whiskers - Page 016 Isn’t this a lovely image! It is called “He Loves Me”. Crissy Armstrong has really out-done herself with this new collection. I am so happy that they are finally released because it was so hard to keep these cuties under wraps!

I have been making so many Christmas cards lately that I just NEEDED to create a fresh spring one! I used the Basic Grey June bug paper that I just got from Stamp & Create and how nice it is to have the matching pearls from Basic Grey too!

I made this into another Easel card and you can see it open here:

Whiff of Joy Advent Calender

Happy Wednesday! Today I want to show you the Advent Calender that I made for my sons. Up until this year, I had three separate ones. Now I have created one that can hold 3 little chocolates in each drawer…one for each of my boys.

When I came to deciding upon which images to use….it was too easy. I am pretty sure if you know me, you know how much I adore Whiff of Joy stamps! I knew I wanted the sweet Christmas Henry Mouse stamps! They have to be among my very favorite collections. I took lots of pictures so bear with me and my long post!

Whiff Of Joy - Page 142Whiff Of Joy - Page 151 Whiff Of Joy - Page 141 Whiff Of Joy - Page 143 Whiff Of Joy - Page 144 Whiff Of Joy - Page 145 Whiff Of Joy - Page 146Whiff Of Joy - Page 147 Whiff Of Joy - Page 148 Whiff Of Joy - Page 149 Whiff Of Joy - Page 150

  • I created a base and a top with cardboard sandwiched between cardstock – each measuring 5.5x5.5”
  • I then made 24 matchboxes using my Stampin up die and the Big Shot (yes…..it took a long time)
  • I sponged around the boxes with SU! Red Riding Hood ink and then attached little gemstone brads using my cropodile to create the holes.
  • I then adhered the match-boxes together in groups of 6 using Scor-pal tape.
  • I added the numbers which are glittered chipboard by Mulitcraft Imports
  • I then adhered the 4 groups to the base and then adhered the lid.
  • The embellies are from Making Memories
  • Paper is SU Red Riding Hood, Basic Grey Wassail

I will admit that it did take a long time to make. I made it in stages whenever time permitted. I am so happy with the result and it looks so pretty AND 3 little Lindor chocolates fit into the drawers so perfectly. You know that you could make a gift for someone to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. Just make 12 boxes instead of 24 and you would have a height of 3 rows instead of 6.

Thanks for stopping by! EDIT: I am going to enter this to the WOJ challenge! I saw that we need to have glitter and I have loads on this project!
