Happy Sunday & Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians!
Here is my card for this week’s High Hopes Challenge which is to “Go Green”. Well I first thought that this meant I needed to use a lot of green on my card but luckily I found out before I started that we were to use recycled materials on our card!
This is actually the birthday card I am giving to my sweet nephew. It is his 7th birthday today. Lucky guy gets turkey on his birthday! He has a little stuffed dog that looks like this one in my card so I thought it would be perfect. The recycled items on my card are the buttons and the twill ribbon. The buttons come from my Mum’s old button tin. It is filled to the brim with buttons that I am sure span decades. I remember spending hours going through that tin when I was little. It was little a treasure chest. So, now it is mine and I do add to it as well! The twill was actually part of the packaging from a quilt that I bought my son from Pottery Barn.
- Stamps: High Hopes” Little Sleuth, Watson and No Mystery sentiment
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
- Paper: SU Sahara Sand, Daisy D
- Coloring: Copic Markers, Prismacolors & OMS
- Embellies: Recycled Buttons and Twill
Hope you have a great day. I hosted Thanksgiving dinner yesterday for us and my hubbie’s family and today we go to my sister’s to celebrate our little Thanksgiving-Birthday boy!
