Whiff of Joy May POM

This month, the Whiff of Joy project of the month (POM) is to decorate a plant holder. I was stumped for an idea for a long time and then I thought of making a decorative Bishop’s hook. The basket is something I have had for a long time and the ribbon probably even longer. The ribbon was actually the starting point in my choice of colors! Not my usual palette at all but I really love it! Of course all the gorgeous images are WOJ!

All my images were colored with Copic Markers and I airbrushed the backgrounds of the charms. As you can see, for the three charms, I have only used a portion of the stamps. I cut them out with my nestabilities circles and then punched tiny holes on the top. I also cut out matching circles out of thick glossy cardboard and adhered these to the back of my images. I then covered all the images with Versamark and embossed them with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. This gives them a nice protective and glossy finish. The charms were attached together using some leftover chain link from my jewelry making stash. The other charm is something I made out of bits and bobs from my stash. The Bishop’s Hook was picked up at my local dollar store and has a double prong at the bottom to make it very sturdy. I ran out to the flower shop and was so happy to find these begonias that were a perfect color match! I think this is a fun way to dress up a little plant that you give to someone.
