High Hopes Challenge Pets/Favorite Animals

Happy Tuesday! I am just back from volunteering at my children’s elementary school! Boy, you can feel that school will be finishing very soon….there is a definite layer of excitement and the noise level has certainly gone up a notch!

My card today is for this week’s High Hopes Challenge and the theme this week is pets or favorite animals! It was hard for me to choose between Dustin’s Monkey images or his dragon images but this cutie finally won out!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 167

This is Cuppy Cake Jake and I followed this week’s Mojo Monday’s sketch which was perfect to showcase this adorable monkey. I cut the card base and all the circles with my Silhouette SD. That way I was able to get the exact card size I wanted which is a circle of 5.25”.

I hope you can join our challenge this week. Just remember, you MUST use a High Hopes stamp on your card/project to be considered. The prize is 3 free High Hopes stamps of your choice!!

If you are in need of some High Hopes stamps, why not check out the Diva's Stores:

I just noticed that my HH post from last week is GONE! Mr Blogger certainly is not playing fair lately. Here are pics of last weeks project featuring Tire Swing Dragon!

Enjoy the rest of your day! I am going to buy some flats of veggies and herbs to start planting in my garden!

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ Whiff of Joy

Happy Monday everyone! Do you want to laugh? I am one of those organized girls and I have absolutely every appointment, holidays, birthdays….well you get the picture…all on my computer agenda which is synced with my i-phone. I even programmed little alarms to alert me when it is time to go to piano lessons, soccer hockey…..

Last night it is bed-time for the kids and they say “…but we get to stay up later when we don’t have school the next day” Of course, I reply that it is Sunday evening and they DO have school. They in turn shout out…..”It’s a Ped day” I tell them that it isn’t. It is not in my agenda….I have not had a notice and that is that…but they keep insisting. So, we get out their school calendars and there it is. In black and white, the undisputable fact that they are in actual fact off tomorrow. I don’t know how it happened. I must not have entered that last one. The kids were doubly happy. They got to stay up an extra hour and they were right! ACK! I know I am not going to live this down. EVER.

My card today is for this week’s Stamp & Create Product Spotlight which is Whiff of Joy stamps! You all know how I feel about these amazing stamps! Now you have the chance to get any of those little cuties that have been on your wish-list and at 25% off!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 166

I have used one of whimsical gnomes for my card. This sweet stamp is called I Miss You Gnome.  I think that this image is perfect for a card for someone who has just moved or even as a teacher appreciation card.

It is a fairly large image and I thought I would incorporate a little sky and grass. I did this with my Copic ABS system. I have a little cloud template that I used for when I was air-brushing the sky.

I thought the image already had a lot going on and I didn’t want to overwhelm my card with too much more so I did  little machine stitching around the card and added just a thin band of patterned paper from Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry collection. The buttons are Basic Grey Pyrus and I also added some red mini pom-pom ribbon for a little added dimension.

This card is a little different from my usual style but I ended up really loving the folksy and homespun look! Hope you do too!

My card today is for the Wags ‘n Whiskers challenge which this week is “in stitches”.

2011 - Page 165

I used one the brand newly released digi images: Sammie’s Round-up.  How cute is this little sheriff? The papers were loose in my drawer but I think they are from Basic Grey Lime Rickey. The star is from Stamp & Create and the little calendar is from Jillibean Soup.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you get a chance to play along with us!

Whiff of Joy Summer Kit

Happy Thursday! I have another card featuring the sweet School Times stamps from the Whiff of Joy Summer Kit! These will soon be available to purchase individually so don’t worry if you didn’t buy one.

2011 - Page 157

Today’s little sweetie looks slightly worried. Perhaps she is like the child I was….very shy when the teacher asked her to read aloud! I can still remember how nervous that would make me!

She is colored in copics and I created the background with the Hero Arts ledger stamp. A slightly different take from my last WoJ card:

2011 - Page 154

As you can see, I am having so much fun with my new stamps! thanks for stopping by!

Stamp & Create PS and Whiff of Joy Summer Kit

Happy late, late Monday! Yes, I am a little behind in my postings. Had one of those crazy busy weekends and I have been running to get caught up. Which means that I am going to have two cards to show you!

First up is my card for this week’s Stamp & Create Product Spotlight. This week, we are showcasing SWALK stamps and they will all be 25% off this week. You can find them all ~here~. There are so many cute ones to choose from!

dsc_6556

I created another scalloped circle easel card using my Silhouette. Since i had already created and saved this file, it was super fast to get it cut out. I chose this very sweet stamp “Mummy” and colored it using my Copic Sketch markers. I added some sponging with Hero Arts soft pool ink and added a ribbon from SU! to the top. The button is Basic grey and serves to hold the card upright.

My second card features two of the images and two of the sentiments from Whiff of Joy’s New Summer Kit. I think many of you have already received your kits or will soon. But don’t worry if you didn’t order it. These images will all be available soon to purchase individually.

2011 - Page 154

This cute was colored with Copic Sketch Markers. I created a background for her by stamping this ledger stamp from Hero Arts with Soft Pool ink (also Hero Arts). I then used a Pink Sharpie to create the line on the left-hand side. I used a SU! punch to create the holes along the top and then sponged around the edges. The numbers were stamped along the top with Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup ink, the chalk-board was stamped with Peeled Paint Distress ink and You make the grade was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. I added some red brads, some red ribbon and a little library clip to finish my card off! I only used one piece of patterned paper and it is mostly hidden but I created a lot of interest by mixing up my ink colors and adding a lot of little embellies!

Here is another angle:

You Make Me Smile ~ Sketch Saturday #156

Happy Saturday Everyone! Hope you all have some fun plans for the week-end or will enjoy a cozy few days tucked away doing something crafty! Once again, we have a fairly busy couple of days coming up but as Monday is a Holiday, I am hoping to rest then!

My card for this week’s Sketch Saturday Challenge features a sweet little Magnolia stamp. I think this stamp can be used for occasions other than Easter. She is just too cute to only be taken out once a year!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 151

I used some paper from my scrap bin as well as some from the MME Stella Rose collection. Not sure which one. Sorry! I did some machine stitching to give a little interest and the little white rose I made myself with a MFT die and some PTI white felt. I have to say I {heart} how these look and they are fairly straight forward to so. The large green leaves are also a MFT die and the aqua frilly ones are from a MS punch. The sentiment is from Verve stamps and was embossed with white filigree powder. The brad is MME and the white crochet lace is from Stamp & Create.

Here is the sketch:

Our sponsor this week is Bunny-Zoe Craft store. Nikki is a lovely person, delivery is super quick (even to me in Canada) and she has loads of goodies on hand!

Have a great day!

Wags ‘n Whiskers Princess Blog Hop

Happy Friday! I am so happy you stopped by today because I am sharing my card for the Wags ‘n Whiskers Blog Hop! Our new digital release features the adorable images illustrated by Emma Metcalf. There is something so nostalgic for me in these images. I guess they remind me of illustrations is my childhood books. I {heart} them all!

I am the second stop in the hop. The first stop is the Wags ‘n Whiskers blog. As you hop along, leave a comment on each blog. Three random blogs will pick a winner from amongst their comments and each winner will win the full digital release!

My card features Ballerina Katie and I decided to color her in soft shades of blue. Cue the music from the Nutcracker Suite please! LOL!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 152

The cardstock is a shimmery blue and the background patterned paper is from Best Creations and  is embossed and shimmers too. I added a panel of whisper white that I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and then lightly sponged with Jenni Bowlin Soft Soap ink.  The butterfly border was made with a Whiff of Joy metal die. The butterflies were punched from some scrap paper with a Martha Stewart punch. I added a swirl made from a Marianne die and also added a soft white ribbon. I followed the wonderful sketch over at the CLP Challenge and also the theme at Creative Card Crew: Something Girly and Divas by Design: For the Girls.

The next stop on the hop is Vicki!

Have a great time hopping and don’t forget to comment for your chance to win the whole release (that’s 6 digital images)

You May be the World

It is raining here. I feel the need to tell you because is has been raining for a whole week now. If any of you have some sunshine to spare….I would sincerely appreciate it if you sent some my way! LOL!

What did cheer me up was my Whiff of Joy DT finally making it’s way to my mailbox! OMGosh! Love, love the new release and the Summer Kit! Today I am sharing my first card.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 150

I {heart} this image. These two are super adorable and so cozy and happy together. I colored them up with Copic Sketch markers to match my yummy MME paper. I carefully cut them out and adhered them with foam dimensionals to this wonderful tree image. This is a digital image from the April release and I thought the two together would be a great match.

The sentiment is from the new General sayings set which I think is a must have. The sentiments are so simple yet so profound and I am sure you will be seeing them often on my cards. I combined it with a frame and die from another WOJ set! I will add all the links below.

I am going to enter this card to the following challenges:

Here are the links for you; just click on them!

Thanks for stopping by! I do so appreciate when you do! Tomorrow is the Wags ‘n Whiskers blog hop so swing on by. I am the first stop on the hop!

Hugs to you all!

Princess Collection Sneak Peek!

Happy Wednesday! I am sooo behind. I did not post my HH card yesterday but will do so tomorrow. My eldest is off on a school trip and I was busy getting everything ready for him. The weather is so changeable right now that he need clothes for rain, cold and hot weather.

Today I am super excited to be able to show you a sneak peek of one of the new Princess stamps that are being released by Wags ‘n Whiskers Stamps. I {heart} this adorable and whimsical collection. They are perfect for children’s cards and are a dream to color!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 149

This image is named “Beary Sweet” and is the perfect stamp for so many occasions. I wanted to make a soft and dreamy card and thought a white on white with splashes of pink was the way to go. The image is cut out and foam mounted for some dimension. All the panels are embossed with a PTI plate and lightly sponged with Spun Sugar distress ink. The oval shape was cut out with Nesties and I sponged it while is was still in the die to create a perfect white border. Butterflies are from a MS punch, Spellbinders flowers and a Marianne die flourish are the embellishments. Here is a side view:

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 148

For more sneak peeks, please head on over to the Wags blog! A list of Divas will be posted there! We will be having a fun blog hop on Friday!

Have a great day wherever you are!

Stamp & Create PS & Sketch Saturday #155

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I was super busy this week-end. We hosted a big potluck dinner and ceilidh on Saturday. It was wonderful evening with yummy food, hanging with close friends and of course, music and  singing.

So today I have two cards to show you. The first one is my Sketch Saturday card that I didn’t have a chance to post on my blog on Saturday. I was too busy making lasagna and muffins ;)

SS2011 - Page 091

I have used the incredibly cute Greeting Farm image: Ruby! I got this one over a Scrapbook Centrale (for those of you in the Montreal area) but she is also available at Stamp & Create ~here~ for those of you who are not in the Montreal vicinity :)

I colored her to match this fabulous American Crafts Confetti paper. The background behind the motif was stamped with a Hero arts background stamp and the butterflies were cut out using a Martha Stewart punch and I used the tiny attacher to staple them on. The sentiment was embossed with white filigree powder and is from Verve Stamps. I hope you can join us this week over at Sketch Saturday. Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp.

**************

My second card is my Stamp & Create Product Spotlight card. This week our product spotlight is Mermaids and all mermaid stamps will be 25% off!

S&C2011 - Page 145

I knew of course that I would be using one of the fabulous Sweet November mermaids. The difficulty was in choosing which one! They are all so gorgeous. I love, love them. In the end, I picked sweet Fathom Calmsea & Lio. I colored her in aqua green and used the same markers to create these dotted underwater scene. I added a few dew drops to softly create the look of bubbles. Here is a close-up of Fathom:

S&C2011 - Page 143

When you untie the ribbon, you open a flap to reveal this sweet message that was stamped with Technique Tuesday stamps. The doily shape was cut out of kraft cardstock with my wonderful Silhouette SD machine. I love the fact that I can download so many different designs and have these intricate shapes cut with just a press of a button. Pure Genius!

S&C2011 - Page 144

The card does open up as a regular free-standing one and you can add your personal salutation to the inside of the card.

Here are some links for you:

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my cards. I hope you have a lovely day!

Whiff of Joy & Wags N Whiskers

Happy Friday Everyone! I am going to have a double post today….it wasn’t intended but I had tremendous trouble with Blogger these past days and in the end…I just gave up. Were you affected too? I think many of us were.

So, fingers crossed that this post does indeed go live :) ETA: finally got the post to go live at 1:20 pm. Bad blogger :(

My first card features one of my all-time favorite stamps. It is sweet Willow with Hot Chocolate from Whiff of Joy. Last week, I was blog hopping and I saw the most amazing shaped card on Chris’s blog ~here~. I loved the tea-pot shape so much that I thought I would try to see if I could find a similar shape over at the Silhouette blog. Well, they did have one and I modified it a little and was able to create this tea-pot easel card.

Whiff of Joy 2011 - Page 142

The image was colored with Copic Markers and I paper-pieced her tea mug with the same patterned paper that I used for the tea-pot. I added stitching around some of the edges and attached a tiny tag made with a WoJ die to the top. Just as if there is a tea-bag in the pot steeping! I stamped the tag with stamps from Papertrey Ink’s Tea for Two Additions set. The other tag was cut from Kraft paper and was made with a Papertrey Ink die shape and the sentiment is from the Tea for Two set.

Whiff of Joy 2011 - Page 141

Here is a shot from a different angle. As you can see, I tried to re-create the look of a saucer for the base.

Whiff of Joy 2011 - Page 140

Here you can see the details a little better.

I am entering this card in the Whiff of Joy challenge (color combo), the ATS challenge (paper-piecing), the Creative Craft challenge (distressed/vintage), and Double Dutch (vintage).

*****

Whiff of Joy 2011 - Page 139

My second card for today is for the Wags’nWhiskers challenge which this week is to use a circle or circles on your project. I also want to give a shout-out to our new DT members. Please check out their blogs this week and leave them some love.

I created this simple and fun summer card using the cute stamp: Water Babe. The paper is from one of MME Stella Rose paper pads. I cut out a circle with vellum and used a Technique Tuesday set to stamp the sentiment. I did a little sewing across the strip of paper and I also pierced holes around the circle.

We are having a new digital release on May 20th!

The sneak peeks begin on Wednesday, May 18th... then continue Thursday, May 19th.

Beginning at 12:01am EST/5:01am GMT Friday, May 20th, there will be blog hop showcasing all of the wonderful new images.

Then at 7:00am EST/12:00pm GMT on Friday, May 20th, the digital stamps will be available for sale here on the blog.

Would you like to win the whole release?

Grab the banner above (or the smaller banner in my side-bar) and then link it ~here~. Then, at that same blog post, enter your link into the linky below!!

This contest runs through to Thursday, May 26th at midnight EST/5:00am GMT with the winner being announced with our challenge on Friday, May 27th.

Have a great day and again, sorry for such a long post…..Blogger’s fault this time.

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ Charms

***ETA: I have added my card now. Oops!***

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday! I was showered with hugs and gorgeous home-made gifts from my boys and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from hubby.

I received a Magnolia tree from my crew last Mother’s Day and today, the first blossom opened up! Such a nice surprise. I have had to wait a whole year to see the blossoms of my tree. BTW, much to the amusement of my children, I named my tree, She is Maggie May. You know….Magnolia….I received her in May ;)

I have a couple of pictures I would love to share with you. I think these are the most beautiful spring trees.

Here is the single open blossom:

SC2011 - Page 136

and here are others that are almost ready to open up:

SC2011 - Page 135

Now, on to my card that I am sharing with you today! The product spotlight over at Stamp & Create this week is: Charms. That means that all charms will be 25% off. I think they are such a sweet way to add that little extra touch to your card. I just want to let you know that Lacey has added a whole bunch of new paper pads (yummy) and has re-stocked a lot of the more popular stamps!

SC2011 - Page 137

For my card, I used the sweet Wild Rose stamps "Milton with Teddy". I colored him in with copic sketch markers. Such a quick and easy image to color. I stamped him out again on masking paper and then airbrushed around him to create a nice, soft background.

I added the "Love" charm to the main image panel with some baker's twine tied in a small bow.

The patterned paper is from MME Stella Rose collection and I layered two types of ribbon: ivory wrinkled and champagne net. I like layering my ribbon, I think it is such a nice look.

The sentiment is from Verve Stamps and I stamped it directly onto my card. I like this less fussy look.

I am entering this into the Papertake challenge which is anything goes!

Thanks for stopping by and have a tremendous day!

Hugs Jeanette

Stamping Technique Video

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you special ladies! I hope that you will all have a wonderful, relaxing day filled with love! I am scheduling this post the night before because I know my little crew of men. Mother’s Day is very exciting for them and they do tend to get up EARLIER than usual to fix me breakfast in bed and proudly present their hand-made presents to me. What usually wakes me up is my hubbie cautioning them to be quiet! LOL!

Finally I am posting my technique video which I had originally planned for Friday! I show you how to “kiss” your stamps together to achieve this really stunning look.

First here are a few sample cards. This first one was my “prototype” card. They first time I tried out the new technique and created a card layout.

Hero Arts - Page 134

In this next sample (this is the card I create during the video) I just change out one of the stamps and the ink. The basic card is the same.

Hero Arts - Page 132

Now here is the video featuring stamp “kissing”

Hope you enjoyed this and will try it out on your own! I will update this tomorrow with a fun list of supplies. Right now I am off to watch a movie!

A Wee Card for Sketch Saturday

Happy Saturday. The rain has finally stopped and the family is looking forward to spending some time outside for a change. I think my hubby will clear out the garage: putting away all the hockey and skiing gear and get out the bicycles and the soccer gear for the summer! I am going to start tackling the windows. Not my favorite thing to do but I do love how it looks when it is done and the sense of accomplishment!

2011 - Page 127

This week it is the very sweet and talented Maya who is hosting our Sketch Saturday Challenge. She has created a lovely sketch for us all to follow and our sponsor this week is Tinkled Pink Stamps….one of my favorite lines! The are so quirky and fun! Due to some pretty poor planning on my part, I did not use one of TP’s stamps. I got my weeks mixed up. Silly me!

The image that I did use for my card today is from Wee Stamps. I just recently came across these digital images and I fell head over heels for them. They are so sweet and I could not help but use one right away. I bought a few more so look for them soon!

The papers are all MME Quite Contrary papers. Actually they are all little scraps pieces that I managed to fit together for the sketch. No worries though….I found a store that is still carrying this line and ordered more. LOL! I admit I have a thing for paper!

For more creations for your inspiration and to enter the challenge, please go over to our blog: Sketch Saturday Challenge. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your interpretations!

I also want to announce the winner of my Spring Banner candy:

True Random Number Generator Min: Max: Result: 14

Which is Diane L!

Congratulations! Please contact me with your mailing address so I can send it off to you!

Many thanks to all of you who entered and don’t be sad….I have more candy to give away so stay tuned!

I wanted to post a video on Friday but things were hectic and I didn’t get the chance. I should have it up tomorrow!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Just a Note

Happy Thursday! It is still raining here but I am not going to complain. Some regions of Quebec are experiencing terrible flooding with all the rainfall that we have been experiencing. It should let up soon hopefully.

My card today was inspired by the wonderful sketch over at Card Patterns Challenge.  I knew right away that I wanted to you this Hero Arts stamp. I totally {heart} silhouette stamps and this one is so sweet.

dsc_6350

I made a smaller card that my usual 5x5”. This one is an A2 size at 4.25x5.5”. I was able to use up some DP pieces from my scrap drawer to complete my card. The seam binding is from Stampin’ Up and is Baja Breeze as is my cardstock.

I will be editing a video that I shot a little bit ago and I will have it here on my blog for tomorrow. It features another silhouette type stamp and a fun technique!

Also want to remind you that the new release is available over at Whiff of Joy! I haven’t received my DT packet yet so I don’t have a card to show you yet but I am stalking my postie! There are some charming new stamps from Alison Acton, new pearl brads and half pearls too! All of them are lovely and available now!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Tilda with Butterfly

Happy Wednesday! We are having a very wet kind of day. The rain has been steadily pouring since yesterday..and it is back to being cold. Oh well, my card is happy and bright at least!

2011 - Page 128

My first card features sweet Tilda with Butterflies from the last collection. Isn’t she the sweetest! Love her dress and hair and that sweet little butterfly on her hand. I cut out the card shape using my Silhouette die cutter. I just changed up the size and removed some of the layers from a download from their site. It is so much fun to use!

I added some pretty lace and seam binding ribbon. The little tag is made from a Whiff of Joy die and the stamped sentiment is from PTI.

2011 - Page 129  Here you can see the inside of the card. This big tag is also made with a Whiff of Joy die (in fact the two tags are on the same die) and the sentiment is from Verve stamps.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hugs Jeanette xxo
