Another Whiff of Joy Sneak Peekie and A Video

Happy Wednesday! Already it is the middle of the week! We are finally getting some warmer weather over here. The past few days is has been freezing cold. Not Spring-like at all.

I have another sneak peek for you today featuring a sweet Nora stamp. This month Whiff of Joy has gone digital so this cutie can be re-sized or flipped! I used the tremendous sketch from Card Patterns.

Whiff of Joy 2011 april - Page 077

The paper is from MME Stella Rose Hattie 6x6 pad (I {heart) this line). I added some Stampin’ Up rub ons along the right side for a little interest and to brighten up that side of the card. The button is Basic Grey and the text behind Nora is Hero Arts “Happy” sentiment cling. I love, love this color combo and I think it show-cases this sweetie very well!

I should have a video uploaded later today….I will edit this posting to add ASAP! It is a little different from the other videos I have made. Over the last few weeks, I have been so busy with things not craft related that a few orders I had made as well as some DT packages started piling up. I know, what a terrible dilemma. I thought it might be fun to show you what I will be using in the next few weeks!

ETA here it is:

Stamp & Create Sports theme spotlight

Happy Monday! This week we have a fun theme as our Product Spotlight at Stamp & Create! It is “Sports”.

All images in the Sports Category will be 25% off and with so many great images from different stamp companies to choose from, you will be sure to find some of your favorites that have been on your wish-list!

Birthday banner 2011 - Page 075

I wanted to use this sweet High Hopes image: Time Well Spent. My hubby and the 3 boys love to fish and so this sweet image just calls to me. I colored it up with my Copic markers and then masked it. I sponged the sky in with some Tumbled glass distress ink and the water was airbrushed in with my Copic ABS.

The paper is some old Salebration paper from Stampin’ Up that seemed perfect for this scene. I added Stickles to the water drops for a little extra shimmer. The swirl and the sentiment are Stampin’ Up rub-ons. Again, I think they were a Salebration item from a few years ago. I am seriously getting through some of my stash!

I followed the wonderful sketch from Cute Card Thursday.

Thanks for swinging by. I shot two videos today so hopefully I will get them up on my blog sometime later this week.

Whiff of Joy Birthday Banner

Happy Sunday! As promised, I am here with a sneak peek of some of the new Whiff of Joy digital (yes, I said digital) images that will be released on April 1st.

A few months ago, I saw an amazing Hallowe’en banner on Nichol Magourik’s blog. I fell in love with it and knew that I wanted to create a birthday one for our boys. When I saw the new WoJ release, I realized that they were perfect to accent my banner. I also added the Henry Spidermouse image that is a freebie that you can get ~here~.

This did  take a long time to make but the look on the boys’ faces when they saw it was worth every hour I put into making it….then the older one said…..are you going to make a Christmas one and an Easter one…how about a Halloween one? ACK! What have I started?!

Birthday banner 2011 - Page 074

I used my Silhouette to cut out the each banner and scalloped mat. I {heart} how easy it was to do and how perfect they all came out. I machine-stitched each one and it just finished them off perfectly. I followed Nichol’s video tutorial which you can find ~here~. If you don’t have a Silhouette, I am sure you could still create the banner by cutting out triangles and using a border punch to create a decorate edge to add around it. All my papers were old Stampin’ Up that I have had in my stash for ages. It felt great to use them up. The letters were cut with my Silhouette as well. I ended up adding little dots at a few of the edges with my white gel pen just to make them pop a little.

I printed out the digi images after re-sizing them to be 4” long. That seemed to be the right proportion for the pennants. I colored the images with Copic markers and cut them out all out, leaving a thin white border around them.  I had planned at the beginning to add an image to each pennant but as I progressed I realized that it would detract from the images if there were too many. Instead I created a matted star for some of them using left-over paper scraps. Again, so pleased to be making good use of my stash. I strung the banner on some brown taffeta ribbon and then because it looked too plain like that, I added some red and white hemp twine from Whiff of Joy. That was the perfect touch!

Here are close-ups of each pennant:

So, there you have what has been taking up so much of my time :) All the images will be available as of April 1st so you don’t have long to wait to get them. There are 4 more images in the release that I haven’t used yet so look for them in the next few days!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope I inspire you to make one of these cute banners yourself!

Smiley

Happy Saturday Evening! ***Grin*** I was so tired last night that I did not schedule this post and I was busy with party preparations all today. Everything was wonderful and the boys were sooo happy! I will have some things to share with you tomorrow so stay tuned!

For now, I would like to show you my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday. I loved the fun sketch that Jo created. Those triangular pieces are something I never would have thought of doing but they add so much interest and look great.

I used this sweet image from the Greeting Farm. Too sweet. Reminds me of my kidlets :) I got mine from Scrapbook Centrale but if you are not in the Montreal area, then I know that Lacey also has this set over at Stamp & Create. The paper is MME Alphabet soup. Such a great line. I love the bright color combos.

2011 march - Page 060

Hope you can join in the fun over at Sketch Saturday. Our wonderful sponsor is the Craft barn and just look at the prize! GASP! Love it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing I Could Make You Appear…

Happy Friday! OMGosh! I am so sorry for my lack of posts this week. I have had a lot going on this month and am working on several projects behind the scenes for upcoming releases.

Today I have my Friday Sketchers card to show you. This is my week to host so I hope you have fun playing with my sketch! We have a wonderful sponsor this week: My Favorites Things! I {heart} these sweet stamps, especially their Pure Innocence Line! I have used Fairy Girl on my card. She comes with this sweet sentiment. Such a nice one to use on a card.

2011 march - Page 058

The papers are my Pebbles, the buttons are Papertrey Ink and the felt flowers are old Stampin’ Up.

Here is my sketch. That is a lot of layers for me! What do you think?

sketch - Page 017

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

Bea, Bev, Claudia, Tanja, Jacque, Janneke,

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog!

I also want to remind you that the Whiff of Joy will have a new release on April 1st but the DT are starting their sneak peeks today! I LOVE, LOVE it and I will have some peeks of my own for you on Sunday……I kinda got carried away with an idea……sometimes you just don’t realize the amount of work something will take…but it is going to be worth it!

Have a great day and I hope you get a little inky!

Stamp & Create DT Card

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great week-end. As usual, ours just flew by!

Today I have a fun card to show you. I had my Silhouette out because I am making a birthday banner for this coming weekend. If you follow my blog you will know that two of my boys have had birthdays in the last two weeks! This week-end we will be celebrating with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins! I have had this idea at the back of my mind for awhile so I hope it works out. I will post pictures once it is completed.

Since I already had the machine set up, I decided to try out one of the shaped cards and decided on this birthday cake shaped one for my card.

S&C 2011 - Page 057

I used one of the Wild Rose Studio's Fairys: Ella with Wand on the front of the card. She is so cute! I trimmed the tiers with white satin trimmed lace ribbon using scor-tape and added Liquid Pearls to the bottom. I also added some small prima flowers randomly on each tier and decorated the candle with stickles in Stardust and Orange peel.

Her you can see the inside which I decorated with this fun sentiment that I also cut out with my Silhouette.

S&C 2011 - Page 056

I am happy with how this turned out and will have to try other card shapes sometime soon.

Lacey is getting settled into her new home and has started shipping parcels out again. I was just shopping last night over at Stamp & Create and noticed that she has a ton of new items in stock. I noticed some stamps from Kenny K (new release and re-stocks) as well as more Wild Rose Stamps. A few did slip into my shopping cart :)

Have a great day and I hope you will get the chance to get a little inky!

Emboss-Resist Video Tutorial

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 052

Happy Sunday! I have a video for you today showing the “emboss-resist” technique. I posted this a dew days ago on the Whiff of Joy Inspiration & Tutorial blog and thought I would share here with you on my blog too!

When I first saw the new image “Spring Tree” I thought that it would be a great stamp to use for this technique! It is quick and easy to do and with a simple layout like I used, very easy to mass produce!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 051

I {heart} how this technique showcases this delicate and intricate image!

As you can see, I used different colors for each card but kept the layout the same. Whiff of Joy has so many wonderful sentiments to suit all occasions. I have used just a few of many!

Here is a close-up of the card I made in the video. I am entering it in the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog which is “anything goes”.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 050

Happy Everything

Happy Saturday to you all! It is my sweet middle son’s birthday today! I can’t believe how fast time is slipping by. He is such a monkey and the comedian in our family. He makes us laugh all the time!

Today I have used another sweet La-La Land Craft stamp for my card. This is the second image that we worked on at my Copic Class yesterday. I used some of the new American Crafts paper from Scrapbook Centrale. I {heart} this new line…so perfect for little boy cards. I love this blue and green together.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 045

This week’s Sketch Saturday was the perfect layout for this stamp and paper. I can always rely on Jo for a marvelous sketch!

We are being sponsored this week by Bunny Zoe’s Crafts! I have to be an enabler and let you know that there is a promotion on... a massive 25% off ALL High Hopes, C.C. Designs and The Greeting Farm Stamps. This offer will be active on Saturday when our Sketch Saturday post goes live and the offer ends at midnight (UK time), Sunday 20th March!

Have a great week-end! I am hoping that I will get some crafty time tomorrow….or else I will have nothing to show you next week! ACK! I need another hour in each day….that would be so helpful!

The paper is fresh from CHA and I got them over at Scrapbook Centrale as well. They are from Pebbles and American Crafts! So fun and bright…I am ready for spring!

Stamp & Create DT Card

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great week-end! I am always amazed at how fast it goes! I found a little pocket of time to create my DT card for Stamp & Create.

2011 S&C - Page 003

I used two CC Design images for my card. I combined Sugarplums Teddy Emma and Sugarplums Polar Bear. I used this week’s sketch from The Sweet Stop. It is such a nice one.

I colored my images with my Copic markers and then cut them out. I sponged a sky on a square piece of white card-stock with Tumbled glass distress ink and that serves as the background for them. The papers are all from my scrap-drawer. It is getting less full :) My bow was tied with the Bow Easy. In my opinion, one of the best tools you can have in your scrap-room!

Lacey is knee deep in moving boxes, but her design team still creates! Just to remind everyone, any orders placed to her store Stamp & Create will not ship out until March 20th.

Any orders of $25 or more placed during March 9th-19th will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate. And there is a 10% discount on orders placed during March 9-19th using discount code moving

That is it for me. Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your kind support!

Sketch Saturday

Happy Saturday! Thank you everyone for your wonderful birthday wishes for my sweet son! Despite having to go to school (and having 2 exams) I think his day was special one.

The cinnamon buns were yummy and I have already frozen all the extra trays, ready for another day!

Today I have my Sketch Saturday card to show you and I have used one of the new Sweet November Zodiac Girls. Love, love these images! When Amy was doing her sneak peeks, she colored the hair on the Zodiac Girls some very pretty pastel colors! I loved the look and have a go at some Aqua hair!

2011 - Page 043

The papers were all misc scraps from my drawer and the sentiment is by Verve. The flowers are also from stash and I have no idea of the brand :(

This Sweet November Zodiac Girl is Scorpio and Lacey has them all available at her store Stamp & Create. Just a heads up that she is in the middle of moving at the moment and has this special available to her customers:

**MOVING** We are moving to North Florida. We will be closed for shipping from March 9th-March 18th. Any order placed during that time will ship out by March 20th.

However, you can receive 10% off your whole order during that time using discount code:

moving (all lowercase)

Plus, all orders of $25 of more placed during the move will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate!!

What a great deal if you don’t mind waiting a few extra days!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you get the opportunity to play along over at Sketch Saturday this week. Our generous sponsor is Simon Says Stamp!

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Happy Friday! Sorry for my lack of postings this week. It is my eldest boy’s birthday today and I have been busy preparing for that. I made him a little keepsake card/easel box and I plan to show you that sometime next week. I used mostly Stampin’ Up stamps on it and distress inks and I {heart} how it turned out. Hope he does too.

Today I have my Friday Sketchers DT card to show you. The sketch is a fabulous one made by the sweet and talented Jacque! I just had to ink up this Magnolia….it has been too long since I colored up one of my Tildas…..I think I was starting to go into withdrawal!

2011 march - Page 041

I pulled out some old Stampin’ Up patterned paper. It was one of the Salebration packs and it just reminds me of Spring. I colored her up to match and added a glitter pens to the little hearts but could not capture the shine with my camera.

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

Bea, Bev, Claudia, Tanja, Jacque, Janneke, Jorunn, Rach

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More!

I am off to start preparing tonight’s supper for my birthday boy. His favorites: lasagna, fresh dinner rolls, Caesar salad and of course a birthday cake….vanilla is what he loves!

I am also preparing these Cinnamon Rolls for a special after-school snack. I have already tried this recipe once and my family LOVES them. The bonus is that the recipe yields so many that you can just freeze the extras and pull them out as needed and they are still delicious. I found this on the Pioneer Woman Blog. I leave the coffee out of the icing :) Just click on the picture if you want the recipe but be warned….they are very delicious and your family will start hounding you to make them!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

High Hopes Challenge ~ Go Green

Happy Tuesday! I have a quick post for you today. I have a very long lists of things to do and places to go this week!

2011 march - Page 042

This little card was made for this week’s High Hopes challenge which is to “go green”. You can use the color green or recycle! I have made this to send to one of our very good friends who is as Irish as can be and ALWAYS celebrates “the day” in style! Hence it is not a very “girly” card but one more suited to a male!

I have used 2 HH images along with a HH Sentiment to create a fun St Patty’s Day card. The cardstock, patterned paper and ribbon are all Stampin’ Up.

Hope you can play along with us this week!

Her are the links from the High Hopes Website:

or you can visit one of the Diva’s stores:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spring Snuggles

Happy Monday! I am a little bit sad as my 3 munchkins have finished their Spring Break and are back at school today. It was with a heavy heart that I had to return to making 3 lunches this morning ;)

My card today features one of the new, amazingly sweet Stampavie images that I got recently. I am following a “Spring” theme which is the monthly challenge at the Stamp & Create blog as well as this week’s Cute Card Thursday.

2011 S&C - Page 040

The papers that I used were from Cosmo Cricket’s Mitten Weather collection which I know is technically a Winter line but I just think it is very soft and spring-like. The card layout was taken from one of my friend Claudia’s recent cards. She has the most amazing eye for proportion!

Lacey, who owns Stamp & Create is moving to another home and so this will disrupt her store business a little. Here is what is going to happen to try and keep everything running smoothly:

Any orders placed by noon EST on Wednesday March 9, 2011 will ship out before she moves. Otherwise, orders will not ship out until March 20th.

Any orders of $25 or more placed during March 9th-19th will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate. And there is a 10% discount on orders placed during March 9-19th using discount code: moving

Here are some links for products that I used:

  • Stampin’ Up border punch
  • Paper Trey Lavender Moon ribbon
  • Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather 6x6 pack

That is it for today. I have had a few email inquiring as to whether I travel to teach Copic Coloring. I teach classes at Scrapbook Centrale which is located on the West Island of Montreal. This month I will be teaching on the 18th and the 25th. I can get you more details if you are interested. I am really a SAHM and fit my crafting and blogging around raising my kids so I won’t be travelling around for the time being but thanks for asking :)
