Sweet Ben

Happy Monday! The sun is shining but oh my goodness it is freezing cold again! Oh well, you can’t have it all!

Today I have another pocket card to show you (I am just stuck on this card fold) and this time is features Whiff of Joy’s Sweet Valentine Ben! Isn’t he the cutest?

 2011 - Page 005

2011 - Page 006

Once again, I have used paper from my stash. This is retired Stampin’Up and I have loads of it so you will be seeing more of it! LOL!

This time I used a Papertrey sentiment for the smaller tag and I just stamped Ben one more time in co-coordinating ink. I {heart} this look!

This week the Product Spotlight at Stamp & Create is Love/Valentine’s day which means that all items in this category will be 25% off! The sale will start later on this evening!

I also wanted to let  you know about the Pray for Luke Card Drive. This sweet little boy suffered a seizure due to meningitis and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. His story touched my heart and I will be sending him a card. A small gesture but if each of us does the same, it becomes an enormous source of support for Luke and his family.

Lacey has posted a card drive for  Luke on her blog and you can read Luke's blog here...www.prayforluke.com

Have a wonderful day my dear friends. I hope to be swinging by your blogs later this afternoon!

The Heart

Happy Sunday! After a gorgeous day of skiing yesterday (perfect weather and conditions) we had supper at one of our favorite restaurants. It was a really great family day!

What can make this week-end even better?  I was able to spend some time in my craft room this morning! I happily received my order of the new You are Special stamps from Magnolialicious on Friday and I couldn’t wait to ink this particular one up! The name of this one is Waiting Tilda.

2011 - Page 003

2011 - Page 001

The sentiment is from Papertrey Inc and the paper is some retired Stampin’Up paper that I have been hoarding. I am making an effort to use up all the papers that I have accumulated before I buy any more.

The beautiful rose was a gift from my sweet friend Jacque and the ribbons can be found at Stamp & Create.

I am entering this in the Just Magnolia & Hanglar challenge which this week is to use dots.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week-end.

Sketch Saturday #140

Happy Saturday! Just a quick post from me today! The weather is beautiful, we have had a lot of fresh snow and so we are off to ski for the day! Yippee!

Here is my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday which is being sponsored by The Craft Barn.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 009

Love this sweet Tilda and am only just now inking her up! That literally has happened to me! Papers are by Kaiser Craft and the roses are Prima!

Have a great day everyone!

Friday Sketchers # 139

Happy Friday! I am delighted to share my card with you today because I had such a fun time creating it!

This week it is the super talented Jorunn’s turn to host Friday sketchers and I am sure that you will be inspired by her wonderful sketch. We are being sponsored this week by My Favorite Things. I have to say that I {heart} their gorgeous stamps and accessories…particularly the Pure Innocence Line. So sweet!

2011 - Page 197

Can you tell that I was thinking of Spring when I created this? LOL! The paper is retired Stampin’Up that has been in my stash for a while now. The image and sentiment are from MFT’s Pure Innocence line and the sweet little pennant banner was created with a MFT metal die. I then added some buttons and some bakers twine.  The butterfly was made with a Martha Stewart Punch.

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

Bea, Bev, Claudia, Tanja, Jacque, Janneke, Jorunn Inge

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog!

That is it for me today! Hope you get the chance to get a little inky!

Sweet Hello

Happy Thursday! Today I have a sweet little card that would be perfect to send off as a Valentine’s Day card. It features one of Whiff of Joy’s January release stamps. A new release is due on February 1st and it is super cute! Some of the DT have started posting sneak peeks…

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 020

The card base was made with my Silhouette machine and I just embossed the front with my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots folder. I slipped a red piece of card stock under the front to add a little contrast and ran the same cardstock through my Cuttlebug and one of the new Whiff of Joy border dies. I added some white dots with my gel pen because I felt there still wasn’t enough contrast.

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to perfectly stamp the sentiment onto the envelope that the little bird is holding. Just a nice simple card…..not over the top with embellies but I am happy with it! I am entering it in the Whiff of Joy challenge which is to use chocolate, teal and cream….well I added some red…hope that is alright. I am also entering it in A Spoonful of Sugar’s challenge which is Valentine.

Here are some links:

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

My Favorite Card Fold

Happy Wednesday! I created a video tutorial showing you how to create my favorite card folding technique.  I first discovered this fold on Split-coasters and fell in love! What I love about these cards is that I can tuck in little notes, tags, photos or gift cards into the pockets AND it takes just one piece of patterned paper!
You can find the tutorial, supply list and more pictures at the Whiff of Joy Tutorial and Inspiration blog ~here~
but here is are a couple of  sneak peeks for you:

~High Hopes Challenge #101 ~ Glitter ~

Happy Tuesday! It is time for the High Hopes Challenge which this week is glitter! I am a lover of glitter so this wasn’t too hard a challenge for me. I inked up one of the new Monkey Images:   they are my favorite and perfect for Valentine cards!

2011 - Page 005 *** this card is available for purchase at ebay ~here~ ***

As you can see, I used some glitter paper that I have had in my stash for a while now and paired it up with some cute embossed DP (also from my stash). My monkey was colored up with Copic Markers (stay tuned for a video tutorial on how I color these cuties next week) and for a change, I stamped the sentiment right onto my ribbon!

I hope you can join in our challenge this week and for a look at my fellow Divas’ creations, just hop over to the High Hopes Challenge Blog!

These stamps are available at High Hopes Rubber Stamps:(based in Canada)

or you can  check out these Divas’ stores:

Just Because

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 040

Happy Monday! The kids all have a day off from school so over at my house it is still the “weekend”! I am fairly sure that I am not going to get any crafting done today!

My creation today is for this week’s Stamp & Create Product Spotlight which is the Bow Easy. This is easily my favorite little gadget and I use it all the time. Who has time to fuss with ribbon when this little gizmo creates the perfect bow every-time?

~Here~ is a link to a video I made to show you how easy it is.

My friend Claudia made a sweet little tag a few weeks ago and she left the link to where she got the instructions…now I am linking it for you ~here~.

I did change it up and use my own dimensions….but what is new there? LOL! I needed it to be big enough to accommodate the stamps that I had in mind to use.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 040

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 041

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 043

Okay…I {heart} Sweet November stamps and this one from the new release is possibly my favorite. This one was so much fun to color. I altered it a teeny tiny bit…I drew in a few lines on her layered slip so that it would look like each layer had white lace. It just breaks up all that pink!

I have seen a few of my blog friends stamp the image onto the inside of their card and just leave it uncolored and I really love the look so I incorporated it into my tag. All other stamps that I used came from a Stampin’Up set called: Notably Ornate. It was a happy discovery to see that the frame fit into the Big Notes Die! The patterned paper is also Stampin’Up but I believe it is at least 2 years old….I am trying to get through my stash!

Here are links to the ribbons and the stamp (all from Stamp & Create)

Lacey has tons of new stamps and goodies in her store so go have a look-see before they all get sold out and don’t forget to add in a bow easy if you don’t already have one. Believe me, you will love it!

That is it for me! Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Sketch Saturday # 139

Happy Saturday! Oh my goodness! All thoughts of going skiing have been forgotten. It is freezing cold here in Quebec! I am not sure what the day has in store but it surely will involve trying to stay warm! The kids are disappointed but it just is not fun when it is this cold.

Today I have a Magnolia card to share with you! It has been too long since I have colored one of these cuties up. This is one that I bought in the Fall and then didn’t have the opportunity to use…..until now that is! This week’s Sketch Saturday Sketch was the perfect starting point for this card.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 011

The paper is one of my new favorites by Kaiser Craft that I picked up over at Scrapbook Centrale a couple of months ago…again….didn’t have the opportunity to use it until now! I chose all my Copic Sketch markers by matching them to this patterned paper. The sentiment is by Papertrey and the ribbon and lace are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by my little blog today. I hope that you have a wonderful Saturday and that wherever you are…you are nice and warm!

I hope that you will find a little pocket of time this week to join us in our challenge. We have a lovely prize from our sponsor this week:  Bugaboo.

Friday Sketchers and Wags’nWhiskers Challenges

Happy Friday! I am sooo happy that the week-end is almost here! My eldest son is in his first year of middle school and had mid-terms this week. This is all new to us and he has been only going in for half days all week. What!!! Well, my time during the day got a whole lot shorter since I need to be at the school at 11:30 to pick him up! I am sure he is going to be relieved tomorrow….so many tests to study for.

This week it is my turn to host the Friday Sketchers Challenge. I am sooo happy to let you know that our sponsor this week is Whiff of Joy Stamps! Yippee! So I really hope that you will get the chance to play along with us! I always LOVE to see how YOU interpret my sketch!

Here is my card featuring one of the newly released Whiff of Joy stamps: Nora blowing Kisses!

2011 - Page 198

I used two more of the gorgeous new dies that were released this month as well!  I love how the heart shape echoes her heart-kisses!

Here are the links to what I used:

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

Bea, Bev, Claudia, Tanja, Jacque, Janneke, Jorunn Inge

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog!

The second card that I have to share with you today is for the Wags’nWhiskers Challenge! Today the lovely Fairy images will be available to order ~here~ as digi images….and that means instant gratification as well! No waiting for shipping!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 015

My card features one of my favorite Wags images: Say a Prayer. I have used this image for Christmas cards, Baby Cards, Birthday and Thinking of You cards.

The Double Dutch Challenge this week was to create a card that was totally white except for the image. I really {heart} this elegant look. I embossed a 5.25” square of white card stock and then sewed it onto my white card base. I made a few flowers using a Spellbinders flower die and then added a beautiful piece of May Arts silk ribbon….tied with my Bow-Easy of course!

Whew! That was a long post! Thanks for sticking with me and have a great day!

Love You Much

Happy Thursday! Hope your week has been going well! The week-end is almost here!

Today I have a card to show you using a stamp that I bought AGES ago and then just never used. Unbelievable! I was so happy to be able to ink this sweetie up!

2011 - Page 201 ***this card will be available to purchase on ebay later today along with other Valentine cards***

I pulled out some K&Co paper that I have been hoarding and the card layout is similar to one that my friend Claudia used on one of her amazing cards this week. I just loved the balance that she achieved.  I used some gorgeous taffeta ribbon as well as some older ecru lace from my stash. I love the layered look! The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up and I used the two different sized tag punches.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow with my card for Fridays Sketchers. I am hosting this week and I hope you can all come along and play with the sketch that I created :) Plus…we have a terrific sponsor….I’m just saying ;)

Stamp & Create

Happy Monday! Ohh…the weekend went by too quickly and here we are back at the beginning of the week!

This week over at Stamp & Create, we are all making love-themed cards. I have a cute Valentine Card to show you today featuring my favorite little mouse….Henry! Isn’t he too sweet hanging from this great big balloon? His official stamp name is Henry with Love Balloon.

2011 - Page 001

I colored him in Copics (E50, E51, E53, R20) and added a little more cheek color with my red prisma-color pencil. The background was done with Stampin’ Up chalk.

The cute little heart border was made with one of the new Whiff of Joy dies….they are my new favorite thing….you are going to be seeing lots more I promise you!

The bow was made using the Bow-Easy. Honestly, it is the BEST little gadget out there and I use it all the time and the bows are always perfect without all the fussing!

This week, instead of a Stamp & Create product spotlight, Lacey has an amazing gift certificate of $25 for one lucky person. All orders placed from today through Sunday will be entered into the drawing.  You can see all the details as well as the other creations of my fellow DT right ~here~.  We don’t have a specific product to showcase today, but the Design Team still has some cards to share to give you some ideas for Valentine's Day!!  You can see most of the Valentine's Day/Love image that the store carries here.

The store has so many new and exciting new items……I am going to admit that I had a wee bit of a shopping spree and can’t wait until my package arrives!

Have a great day and I hope you get the chance to get a little “inky” today! I certainly plan too! LOL!

Sketch Saturday #138

Happy Saturday! Hope your week-end is full of fun plans or just a chance to relax and stay snug indoors…maybe do a little crafting?

Here is my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday. I used one of the adorable CC Designs stamps that I was so fortunate to win a little while ago :) This cutie is from the Christmas collection but I think she works for all occasions :)

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 008

I love to offset my images to the side of sentiments like this. I just really enjoy the look. The tag was made with a Papertrey Inc die shape and the sentiment is from Verve Stamps. The tag looked a little stark and so I stamped some butterflies from the same Verve set in colors that matched my patterned paper.

I hope that you can play along with us over at Sketch Saturday this week. We are being sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts!

Also, we are having a DT call for Sketch Saturday. You can read all the details ~here~! Looking forward to see all the entries!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 013

We are being sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps.! OMGosh! I {heart} this company and their amazing line of stamps! I used one of their newly released stamps on my card today! I had a blast coloring her…just hope I did this gorgeous stamp justice! I am going to enter this in the Tickled Pink Challenge too…this week the theme is “I {heart} you”!

The papers are Making Memories from last year’s Valentine collection and the little heart and crown stickers are MME Laundry line. The ribbon is my favorite Papertrey Black Gingham. The sentiment is Stampin’ Up.

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

Bea, Bev, Claudia, Tanja, Jacque, Janneke, Jorunn Inge

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog.

My second card today is for the Wags’nWhiskers Challenge. I thought this sweet stamp from our second release “Steal a Kiss” would be perfect for this time of the year!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 003

I had this left-over scrap of paper (I am sorry…don’t know the line) and it was the color inspiration for me. I kept the card pretty simple but I think this gorgeous May Arts ribbon is the perfect touch along with the little pins and tag.

Please join us in our challenge and stop by to see the gorgeous creations by the rest of the team!

I have some candy up for grabs! The 4 new Wags Pin-Ups girls! Click ~here~ to enter!
