Best Wishes

Hello there everyone! I am so sorry that it has been quiet here. I had intended to have this posting go up on Christmas day but…..that little cough I have been battling these last weeks really kicked into force the last few days and morphing into full blown sick!

We did however have a lovely Christmas. I was too tired to do everything that was on my to-do list but…know what? It didn’t make one bit of difference :) A lesson to be tucked away for next year.

I was happy that my voice held out for Christmas eve and that I was still able to sing and that Christmas morning I was still feeling not so bad. The children’s wee faces were aglow and it was touching to pull out the hand-made gifts that they had so lovingly made for hubby & I.

I really didn’t start to feel horrible until the next day and since I abhor large shopping crowds……it wasn’t a big deal. I have spent the last 2 days sleeping, coughing and shivering and praying for it to be over soon! Although the TLC that is being showered upon me is quite lovely :)

And so, here it is two days past Christmas and I am wishing all my lovely, supportive and kind blog friends a wonderful Holiday Season and all the best for 2011! May it be full of special things for you and your loved ones. A big thank you to all of you who have left such wonderful greetings to me and for all the special cards that I received!

Here is a lovely video that Katharina put together with the Whiff of Joy design team sending out holiday greetings. It was lovely to see and hear my sweet fellow DT!

ATS Magnolia Challenge

Happy Tuesday! OMGosh! The big day is almost here! Are you ready yet? I am pretty much done now. Thank Goodness. I still have some presents that I need to wrap and a little more baking. I hope to get the presents done tonight once the kidlets are tucked into bed.

I went to the hairdressers today and I have a new do! Ack! Actually it really isn’t too dramatic a change but I like it. It is a little more sleek and modern looking!

Today I have a Magnolia card to show you that I created for the ATS Magnolia Challenge which is “Winter where you live”. Since we get quite a bit of snow here in Canada, this is what I came up with:

 Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 203

I just love this snowflake circular border and the frosty colors of this paper. I stamped and colored my Tilda image first and then masked it. I then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to perfectly position the border for stamping. I left the mask in place and airbrushed the background. I added sparkle with my Gellyroll stardust pen.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 204

I saw this idea in the new Magnolia-ink magazine and just had to try it out. How sweet is this little angel? It didn’t take long to make either!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that as we draw closer to Christmas day, you will be able to take a moment here and there to just “enjoy” this special time of the year!

Sketch Saturday

Happy Saturday! Hope you will have time this week-end to just “enjoy” with friends & family! Tonight we have a choir practice with our children who will be singing with us this year at Christmas eve mass and a pizza party afterwards! I am really looking forward to it!

Here is my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday! Our wonderful sponsor is Tickled Pink stamps! I just {heart} their sweet stamps. I finally broke down a few weeks ago and ordered a few digi images! I am using Lil Christmas Lolita Willow which I printed quite large and did not use the complete stamp. I just love how dramatic it looks like this and I had a blast coloring!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 202

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will have a small pocket of time to compete in our challenge this week……especially with the chance to win some Tickled Pink Stamps!

Friday Sketchers Challenge

This is my second post today! I know, I know. I am busy, busy these days for sure! Please scroll down to see my card for the Whiff of Joy Blog Hop which is on today. You will also find the links to follow the hop and perhaps where there is a little candy hidden!

This card is based on the sketch that dear Aud provided for us!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 201

This sweet stamp is from the 2009 Whiff of Joy collection. I just love her sweet expression. I thought this fun WoJ gingerbread patterned paper would be a perfect match for her gingerbread heart! Yum-Yum! This reminds me of the gingerbread shingle that we bought and enjoyed over at the Gingerbread house in Disney World…….but I digress!

The sentiment and the snowflake were made with spell-binders dies and soft felt that I purchased at Papertrey. I really adds a luxurious touch to a card.

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

Aud, Bea, Claudia, Tanja, Jacque, Janneke, Jorunn Inge

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog. Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp!

Next week the team has something VERY special planned for you! We will have a Christmas blog hop with TREMENDOUS prizes! So plan to stop by next friday!

Whiff of Joy Blog Hop

Happy Friday! Today Whiff of Joy is celebrating Christmas with a blog hop!  The Design Team members have all prepared Christmas projects to share with you today and somewhere along the way there is an amazing prize being offered in the form of a generous  gift voucher for the Whiff of Joy on-line store!…30 Euros! Can you believe it?
The hop started off over at our fabulous Katharina’s blog and will end over at the Whiff of Joy Inspiration & Tutorial Blog.
You should have come over to my blog from the talented and very sweet Jorunn’s blog. It was in fact Jorunn who gave me these gorgeous organza flowers that were the inspiration for my project!
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 200
I used one of the new Whiff of Joy angel images along with the “Joy to the world” sentiment and Christmas swirl stamps.  I knew that I would pair the sentiment with this image as soon as I saw this wonderful heralding angel. They are perfect together. The sentiment & swirls are embossed with Filigree white embossing powder. I created a tent card because I really wanted to create something with a lot of dimension and texture. Here is a side view of the card:
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 198
I {heart} these gorgeous Whiff of Joy brads. They are just so elegant and the flourish shapes are made with one of the new Whiff of Joy dies….again……..pure elegance. **Sigh** These things just make me happy!
In this next picture you can see the gorgeous sparkle of the paper as well as the shimmer from the Twinkling H20s that I added to my colored image:
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 199
Here are links to the products that I used:

Don’t forget that now is the perfect time to get those little WOJ items that have been on your wish-list! Katharina is sharing even more Christmas spirit with this coupon which you can use at the Whiff of Joy on-line store:
The next stop of the hop is the amazing Michelle! I am certain she has something stunning to share!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Happy Thursday! OMGosh….it snowed all night again! I am really in a Winter Wonderland! How is everyone doing with their Christmas shopping? I think I am all done………I hope I am! LOL!

Here is the card I made for this week’s WoJ Challenge. I have to admit that I strayed a little bit from the original sketch but I just had to incorporate the flourish and french lily shapes that I made using the new WoJ dies! The French Lily one is a little hard to see. It is made of off-white felt under the green ribbon!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 197

Okay! that is it for me right now! Have a good day everyone!

High Hopes Gift Holders

Happy Tuesday! We are getting such stormy weather these days! My children keep praying for a snow day…but so far they are out of luck. It has been a little dicey getting them to and from school and my ears are still partially  frozen as I type this!

It is still snowing now and so I am going to have to put off my shopping trip with my friend yet again! The last few times we have picked a date to go shopping together……we have had a snowstorm! Since we are also bringing her brand new baby daughter with us…….we decided that we will go on Friday!

My post today features two of the new High Hopes images! Have I mentioned that I {heart} this new release? I thought that these two would be perfect to adorn some gift card holders which I made using my new Silhouette machine! The images are Winter Fun Monkey

whiff of joy 2010 - page 193  whiff of joy 2010 - page 194Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 195

Happy Friday Everyone! Are you ready for Christmas? I’m not! I still have to write my Christmas cards and there are a few little presents that I still have to pick up! I am hoping to be super productive and get a whole bunch of things crossed off my list!

Today I have my Friday Sketchers card to show you. My wonderful and super-talented friend Bea has created a scrumptious sketch for us all to work with. I took the opportunity to use this Magnolia stamps from the 2009 Christmas collection. I really love this one.

The paper is part of the Lost & Found collection by My Mind’s Eye which I picked up over at Scrapbook Centrale. The sentiment is Whiff of Joy and the gorgeous flower was a gift :)

I love the over-all vintage feel of this card and Bea’s sketch was just perfect to show-case all this delicious patterned paper!

Happy Wednesday! We are finished digging out from our first snowstorm of the year. It was pretty windy and we received tons of snow! It really looks pretty but I was pretty well snowed in yesterday!

I have a simple tutorial on the Whiff of Joy Tutorial & Inspiration blog today. I show how to create some easy gift tags. Here is a sneak peek:

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 192

Sketch Saturday

Good Saturday Afternoon! Sorry for the late post. Hubby & I went to a “Great Big Sea” concert last night! They are one of my all-time favorite bands and they put on an amazing concert. They are incredible live! I was on my feet and dancing for almost 3 hours and had the time of my life! (Hubby said it was a good thing our kids couldn’t see me!) I have been a huge fan of them since they started out 17 years ago…

They are a Canadian band from Newfoundland so in case you have never heard them, here is a video :) I tried to find one that shows them live with a good sound quality!

I also want to post the winner of my High Hopes Blog Hop!

My winner is Kelly from Crafting Creatively.

Congratulations Sweetie! Please contact Lacey at stampandcreate@bellsouth.net

and now to my Sketch Saturday card! LOL!

This week we are being hosted my the sweet and talented Terry! I loved her gorgeous sketch and took the opportunity to use this amazing image from Tickled Pink stamps! I couldn’t resist this one……..she reminds me of Cindy Lou Who from the animated Grinch that stole Christmas! She was a pure joy to color!

Double Challenge Friday!

Happy Friday! I am so happy that the weekend is almost here! We have lots of fun family activities planned and tonight my hubby is taking me to see one of my favorite bands “Great Big Sea”! I am beyond excited!

My first card is for the Friday Sketchers Challenge which my sweet friend Tanja is hosting. She has a really creative sketch for us this week. Here is my take:

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 179

I have used one of the new Magnolia Christmas image and instead of using the circle in the sketch, I have cut her out so that she looks like she is standing beside a Christmas tree!

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.

Aud, Bea, Claudia, Tanja, Jacque, Janneke, Jorunn Inge

We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog. We have quite a nice prize this week from our lovely sponsor:

*****

My next card is for the Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge which is “snowflakes”. I decided to use this sweet ballerina: Tiny Dancer. Perhaps she is practicing for her part in the Nutcracker Suite?

Here is the outside of the card. I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the snowflake shape.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 177

and here is the inside:

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 176

The frame was created using my new Silhouette machine.

I hope that you will find some time to join us in our snowflake challenge this week!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!
