Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ Week #2 Shimmerz

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 076

Happy Monday! Today the children have another Ped day which means that they are all home with me today. Not really a recipe for me to get much done craft-wise! LOL! Today I am really excited to show you my card using this adorable CC Designs image which I paired with DP from one of the new Basic Grey pads.

I used the amazing sketch that I found at the Card Patterns Challenge and also used the recipe of “DP, Ribbon, Bow & Tags” which was the challenge at Stamp Something.

I colored up the image with my Copic Sketch markers and then masked the image and airbrushed using my Copic ABS. I used two different colors to airbrush. I love the look that this gives. I used YG00 which I sprayed around the image itself and then I used BG10 which I sprayed around the edges of my cardstock, working my way into the center.

The button is a Basic grey clear button and I just traced around it on some DP and made my own matching embellie! The bow was made with my bow-easy…..one of the best (and cheapest) investments for my crafting needs. The final touch was to use Shimmerz. This is always the little extra touch that gives big results! It is hard to capture just how pretty it is  IRL with photos. I took another one at a different angle to show you more of the effect:

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today! I hope you get the chance to get a little inky today!

High Hopes Challenge ~ It’s A Party

Happy Sunday. I hope your weekend has been a nice one so far! We have had really hot weather but today there was quite a strong breeze which was really refreshing. My hubby and two older boys went fishing all morning so that left myself and the little guy t home. We played in the garden and went for a bike ride! It was so relaxing. In the afternoon I was able to spend some time in my craft room and made a few cards for some upcoming DTs.

The High Hopes Challenge this week is to create a card with the theme “It’s a Party”. When I started searching for which image I would use, I came across this cute Koala and matching sentiment and thought of my SU Asian Flair set that I haven’t used in ages. I decided they would pair together nicely although it is a pretty loose interpretation of the theme!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 051

  • Stamps: High Hopes Sydney Koala + sentiment, SU! Asian Flair (may be retired)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Chocolate Chip, Garden Green
  • Paper: SU Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, DP is from Stash and I don’t remember the make
  • Coloring: Copic Markers
  • Embellies: Leaves made with SU! Leaf die

Sketch Saturday Birthday Bash & Free WOJ Digi

Happy Saturday! Today I am excited to be part of the Sketch Saturday Birthday bash! We are 2 years old now! Wow! Thanks to all of you who join in our challenges and also a warm thank-you to our amazing sponsors! I also have to convey my gratitude to Jo who is the inspiration and organization for our little challenge. Without her there would be no Sketch Saturday! Love you Sweetie! I have to thank my fellow DT sisters as well for their kindness and support. It is such a wonderful team to work with. MWAH!
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 045
So we are doing a little something different this week. As per usual we have a lovely sponsor: The Craft Barn who is offering a very generous gift certificate. For a chance to win, you must create a card using our sketch and link it using Mr. Linky at the Sketch Saturday Blog. You know the drill!
What is different is that each DT has created a special “Party Bag Candy” prize that they have filled with goodies that they will be giving away. To win these candies, you must visit each DT’s blog and enter there.
I have used one of the very fun images from the WOJ Store kit (available -->here<—) and created a fun little 5.5” square gift box. I have filled it with a brand new stamp (from one of the companies I do DT work for), pretty embellies and also some stamped images. All you have to do to enter my candy is link the card you made for this week’s Sketch Saturday using the Inlinkz Mr Froggy that you see at the very end of this post. Good Luck and again, thank you! You help make this challenge possible and thrive! You have until Friday 8am UK time to enter my candy. This gives me time to select my winner and forward it to Jo. Winners will be announced next Saturday at the SS blog.

Double Challenge Friday

Happy Friday! I am so excited to finally be able to tell you a little secret that I have been keeping to myself. I was asked by Stephanie to be part of the Motivet Design Team!

motivet

OMGosh! I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with these adorable stamps and be part of their tremendously talented DT! I received my package a couple of days ago and it didn’t take long before I had this one inked up! Thanks Stephanie :)

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 071

How sweet is this? This cutie reminds me of my boys. This is a favorite pass-time for them right now. It takes ages to walk to and from school with them as they keep stopping to pick these! When their little faces light up as they watch the dandelion fluff blow away, I forget that they are just weeds…….I see how magical they really are! This image was perfect for sweet Tanja’s wonderful sketch for this week’s Friday Sketchers. I pulled out some pastel paper from SU! to match my copic coloring and added some stickles to the dandelion seeds/fluff.

  • Stamps: Motivet Rabbit with Dandelions, Sentiment Whiff of Joy
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU! Bashful Blue, SU! Salebration Paper 2009
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Stickles
  • Embellies: SU! Ribbon, Magnolia Blossom. Hero Arts Gem Adhesives

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.  We hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog. We are being sponsored this week by 7 kids college fund!

Of course, since it is Friday, I have a second card to show you. This is my card for the Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge which this week is to create your own embellishment.

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 072

I used the sketch from this week’s Truly Scrumptious Challenge and added a home-made flower to the top left. I inked and colored up this hilarious image from the new release. Is this kittie living it up or what? LOL! Along with my copic coloring, I used Prismacolors & OMS to created the background blue shading and added some glossy accents to the martini glass!

  • Stamps: Wags ‘n Whiskers Sip ‘n Sun Available -->here<--
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU! Bashful Blue, SU! Salebration Paper 2009
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Glossy Accents, Prismacolors

That is it for me today. I am sorry that I am behind in my commenting. I always feel so guilty when I receive your kind words and then do not have the time to reciprocate. I hope to get caught up this weekend so please know that I appreciate all your wonderful support. Have a great day!

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight ~ Shimmerz

Happy Thursday! Today I want to show you a card that show-cases some of my very favorite things! The product spotlight over at Stamp & Create is Shimmerz! This is the perfect and easy way to add some sparkle to your project. I just mix my little pot of Shimmerz very well and then apply it to my image using a small paint brush.

For the next two weeks, all Shimmerz products will be on sale for 25% off over at Stamp & Create, so now is the perfect time to pick up a few of them! I have quite a number of them but my very favorite ones are Angel Wings & Candlelight.

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 067

For my card, I inked up these cute Swiss Pixies that I just received. They are really so sweet and innocent and I love working with them. I saw these three grouped together somewhere in blogland and just fell in love with the combination and so the idea is not mine but I cannot remember whose it is!  The front piece where the image is opens up into a mini-card which is the perfect place to slip in a gift card. You can see how it opens up where the ribbon is untied. I think you also get a better idea of the effect that Shimmerz gives.

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 068

I couldn’t resist adding another sweet image to the inside along with a happy sentiment. I paper pierced around the edges just to give it some added interest.

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 069

Once again, the bottom photo is taken from a different camera angle and you can see the Shimmerz effect. I thought it would cute on her eyelids as well as on the wings and the flower!

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 070

Thanks for swinging by today and taking a look! I hope this inspires you to try out Shimmerz if you have not already used it before!

    Have a fantastic day!

Stamp Shoppe May Challenge & Just Magnolia Challenge

Happy Wednesday! Hope you have all been having happy, wonderful and inky days! We had a four day week-end and I am wiped out! The weather was amazing which meant we spent a lot of time outdoors! I also watched the Lost Finale Sunday night. I had it recorded and started to watch it at around 9pm. There was a 2 hours pre-finale show and then the 2 hour finale. I cried so many times during the finale and then got to bed way past my bed-time. I am still recovering!
This month The Stamp Shoppe’s blog challenge is to be inspired by the picture below. If you participate you could win 15% off your next order plus some goodies. That sounds pretty good to me! Also the May specials are 15% off all stamps in the 2008 Pink Collection and 2009 Pets and Animals collection (not including stamp combos), just use the coupon code: may2010

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 057
I used these gorgeous new stamp from the Fairytale collection and used the sketch from this week’s Just Magnolia challenge. I will admit that I NEVER use this much yellow on a card but I really LOVE it! In the picture below you can see the effect of the shimmerz that I used on her dress and wings. I added stickles to the star on her wand and to the edges of my oval. I colored my ribbon with my copic markes to get the perfect match with her shoes! LOL!

Have a wonderful day and thank you for swinging by today!

Back on Your Feet ~ Sketch Saturday

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 008

Happy Saturday! Hope your day is bright and sunny. We are having gorgeous weather these days. I am almost finished planting my gardens and patio containers. Wow. It has been a ton of work starting everything from scratch. The kids and I planted our veggie garden and all the planters yesterday. All I have left is the small herb garden and I’m done. I hope……

Today I have my card for Sketch Saturday to show you. I used this cute little Henry from the Whiff of Joy Get Well collection. He looks slightly sheepish. Perhaps he hurt his leg doing something foolish! I changed the sketch a little by changed the position of the sentiment. I liked it better right underneath the image. I am not sure how well it is showing up in the picture, but I used some of the new net ribbon that I got from Lacey’s store and I love the texture it adds to the card.

Please check out the delightful creations by my fellow DT sisters over at Sketch Saturday and I hope you will be able to play along with us this week. We have a wonderful prize being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps!

    Double Challenge Friday

Happy Friday! Can you believe it is the weekend already? My week just flew by. The boys are off from school today and Monday so we have a luxurious 4-day weekend!

My first card that I have to show you today is for this week’s Friday Sketchers Challenge. This is my week to host so I hope you will enjoy the little sketch that I came up with! Our wonderful sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp and they are offering a $25 gift voucher! Wow! Think of all the goodies you can get!

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 055

My card today uses this adorable Tilda with Tulips. Isn’t she the sweetest? For some reason, I just had to use shades of lavender and purple on this cutie. After she was colored with my trusty copics I masked her and airbrushed the background using my Copic ABS and B00. I love the way the light blue makes the purple pop!

    sketch - Page 012

Here is my sketch. I hope  you will be able to play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog

My next card is for this week’s Wags ‘n Whiskers challenge which to create a Friendship themed card. I have been wanting to ink up this sweet image with the unicorn for a while now and so it seemed like the perfect time to use it. This images are so easy and fun to color!

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 056

I used the wonderful sketch from this week’s Cute Card Thursday and used up some of my smaller pieces of paper making all the different layers!

Fairy bubbles ~ The Stamp Shoppe DT Card

Happy Wednesday! The weather has been wonderful here the past few days and yesterday I spent a lot of time outside working on my garden. It is a lot of work but it is slowly taking shape. I bought the vegetable plants yesterday and hope to get them all in today. My little guy will be helping me so I am sure it will take ALL day! LOL!

    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 054

The Stamp Shoppe received the Fairytale collection last week and they are going fast. Be sure to get them soon if you don’t want to be disappointed. I couldn’t wait to ink this one up. I don’t usually like the profile Tildas but this one is gorgeous. She is colored with copics and I have added stickles to the bubbles and the outer edges of her wings. I paired the image up with this yummy paper which is also by Magnolia and available at The Stamp Shoppe as are the gorgeous Magnolia flowers. They are pure luxury and I love everything teams up so perfectly together. My card fits two challenges this week! The Just Magnolia challenge and A Spoonful of Sugar both have similar themes. Just Magnolia is “one for the girls” and A Spoonful is “cute & girly”. I think my card fits both of these nicely!

Don’t forget to create a card for The Stamp Shoppe May Challenge. I am getting mine together to show you next week. You can read more about it -->here<--   and the May specials are 15% off all stamps in the 2008 Pink Collection and 2009 Pets and Animals collection (not including stamp combos), just use the coupon code: may2010

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Whiff of Joy ~ Stamp & Create Product Spotlight

Happy Monday! I am feeling much better and even have had my Mojo return! Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts.
I am so excited to show this card to you today. I love my Whiff of Joy stamps and the new store kit (available at Stamp & Create) is no exception. Here is a card I made with one of the images from the kit.
    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 052
As I was started to color the image, I realized that I had some BM patterned paper that had a very similar flourish design on it and so the paper became the color inspiration. The sentiment is also part of the stamp kit and I couldn’t resist adding some bling as well. Here is a close-up taken at a different angle so that you can see all the sparkle from my sakura stardust pen which I used to trace over the veil and design on her outfit:
    Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 050
    • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Store Stamp Kit: Aladin ~ 1001 Nights
    • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
    • Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, BM DP
    • Coloring: Copic Markers, Sakura Stardust pen
    • Embellies: Prima Flourish, Wilton Doily, Papertrey ribbon
    • Tools: Bow Easy
For the next two weeks, all previously released Whiff of Joy stamps will be on sale for 25% and their newest Get Well Collection and Aladin Store Kit will be on sale for 10% off. Now is the perfect time to pick up these amazing stamps and feel guilt-free because they are on sale!
Don't forget about the very first Stamp and Create Challenge!! This month our challenge is: Ribbon and Fibers. The only rule is that you must use a stamp that is available through Stamp and Create and link to that stamp in the store.
Have a great day. I am going to be hard at work in my craft room today working on a whole bunch of DT cards to share with you!
