Whiff of Joy July PoM

Whiff Of Joy - Page 114 (1) Whiff Of Joy - Page 115 (1)

Hi everyone! This month the Whiff of Joy Pom or Project of the month is to create a gift for a teacher. These are two that I created for one of my sons to give to his teachers. I altered two spiral journal books with some designer paper and ribbon and used this beautiful WoJ stamp Melinda reading to embellish the cover. The final little touch was to add a little ribbon to a pen. The images were colored with copic markers and then masked and airbrushed. I can’t tell you the company names of the paper as they were pieces I had in my scrap drawer. The ribbons are from papertrey.

My little guy was very happy with them and was so proud to hand them to his teachers. Isn’t that a great feeling?

You can see all the delightful creations the rest of the Whiff of Joy DT came up with in the Pom gallery.

Whiff of Joy Anniversary News

Hi Everyone! Happy Monday to you all. I have some really exciting news to share with you today. Whiff of Joy is celebrating its first anniversary and Katharina has planned an amazing and fun-filled celebration.

There will be a Blog Hop on July 25th that will end in a release party over at our PCP forum. There will be prizes and special guests! Most exciting is that Katharina is looking for 15 dedicated WoJ fans who will guest design for the blog hop! WooHoo! For all the details, you need to visit Katharina’s blog. Just click on this banner below and it will take you to the correct posting!

Here is Katharina’s very fun & unique sketch:

Here is my interpretation:

Whiff Of Joy - Page 107

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Mother’s Delight Collection: Willow with Toddler, Baby Sentiments
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Basic Black, Papertrey Sweet Blush
  • Coloring: Copic markers
  • Embellies: Papertrey Ribbon & Buttons

It is soon my birthday so my hubby told me to treat myself to some crafting treats. I splurged on an order with Papertrey and my package arrived just in time to create this card. I love how everything co-ordinates together and the buttons are sensational! I used my very old flexible curve to create the shape of this card. I haven’t used it since my days when I was a student! It brings back memories of Organic Chemistry Labs. This is where I learned the importance of carefully following instruction. If you messed up…boy did it look gross and smell even worse! We would use the flexible curve to create the perfect curve when plotting our results on grafts.

So, I hope you have a terrific day and get a chance to give this sketch a whirl! Good Luck everyone!

Cheers ~ Friday Sketchers #58

Friday Sketchers - Page 008

Hi Everyone! Thanks for stopping by! This will be a quick post as I am not feeling very well. Seems I caught what my little guy had. I have come to realize that little children are just petrie dishes, only cuter. Isn’t it a drag to be sick in the summer?

This is my card for this week’s Friday Sketchers. Again, I have pulled out a Tilda from last year’s collection. I think this is a perfect image for a summer celebration! If you look closely, you’ll see what I just have just now seen….the script on the oval is UPSIDE DOWN! Big OOPS. See….I told you I wasn’t feeling well….

  • Stamps: Magnolis Summer Collection 2008, SU French Script
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bashful Blue
  • Paper: SU Green Tea – retired
  • Coloring: Copic Markers
  • Embellies: SU Ribbon, Brad, Flowers made with Spellbinders die

That’s it for me. It is actually Thursday night and I am scheduling this to post. I am going to take a hot shower and collapse. I hope I feel more like me tomorrow. My fellow DT have come up with stunning creations. You can see them at the FS blog. Hope you have time to join us this week. It is a fantastic sketch by dear Carole.

Sweet Stop #9

Sweet N Sassy - Page 089Hi Everyone! Sorry that I have not posted in the last few days. We had a busy weekend as it was Father’s Day on Sunday! We had a great time spoiling my hubby!

But my middle son started running a temperature Sunday afternoon and it only broke on Tuesday. He feels much better now and is starting to act more like himself. He is usually a bundle of energy so it is hard to see him so lethargic. Of course, now, I am waiting to see which one of us is next. You know how it is. One gets it and one by one everyone gets it!

Anyhoo, that is why I have been somewhat MIA. I am planning to slow down with my postings this summer because school is officially over for the kids! I will post at least 3 times a week but not my usual 6 times.

This week, there is a little prize involved with the Sweet Stop Challenge and a little extra requirement. You need to follow the sketch and use Red, White, & Blue. I created this fun little birthday card using two different sets.

  • Sweet ‘n Sassy: Birthday Greetings (sentiment) Birthday Fun ( background doodles & present)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Balck, Bashful Blue
  • Paper: SU Red Riding Hood, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
  • Coloring: Copic markers
  • Embellies: SU White Taffetta Ribbon, Dew Drops

Thanks for stopping by and for more inspiration, stop on over at the Sweet Stop!

Live The Life You Have Imagined ~ Sketch Saturday #56

Sketch Saturdays - Page 109

Hi Everyone! Here is my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday. I pulled out one of the first Tildas that I ever purchased. I still really love her and her windswept hair. I thought this paper from My Mind’s Eye was a perfect match but then I went and covered most of it up! The layer with my image is “popped” up with dimensional tape. I had to move the sentiment over to the side as it looked a little odd right smack in the middle because my image is quite large :)

  • Stamps: Magnolia 2008, Sentiment by Verve Stamps
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Tangerine Orange, Papertrey Aqua Mist, MME DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers & Airbrushing
  • Embellies: Papertrey Ribbon, Hero Arts Pearls, Metal charm from Dollar store, Anchor Embroidery Floss

Head on over to Sketch Saturday to see our new Guest DT Leonie the other DT creations (they are gorgeous) and the prize that is being sponsored by:

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend and hope to see your take on this sketch!

Friend ~ Friday Sketchers Week #57

Friday Sketchers Week # 57

Hi Everyone and Happy Friday! Whoo-Hoo! We have a lot of things planned for the weekend and the weather is promising to be warm and sunny! What more can you ask for? Hmmm…well maybe more stamps and copic markers. LOL!

Last week was my turn to host Friday Sketchers and provide a sketch and I want to thank all of you for your very kind words and participation. I’m just so happy that you all liked it! This week, it is Bea’s turn to host the challenge. I am always so awestruck by her creativity! Her sketches are brilliant and her cards are mini master-pieces. Once again we have a fabulous prize and it is most generously being donated by:

I pulled out this sweet Tilda from the Valentine Collection. I colored her to match this gorgeous Porcelain DP from Basic Grey. I had this little metal key that matched perfectly so I just had to use it! The flower was made using the Spellbinders flower die. It is my new “favorite” thing!

  • Stamps: Magnolia Valentine Collection 2009
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Papertrey Sweet Blush, Basic Grey Porcelain
  • Coloring: Copic Markers
  • Embellies: Papertrey Ribbon, Charms & Rosebud from Dollarama

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you get a chance to play along this week and if you want to see more cards using this sketch, stop by at Bea, Carole, Claudia, Heidi, Jacque, & Jacqueline’s blogs! I’ll be back tomorrow with my card for Sketch Saturday!

Wedding Cake

Whiff Of Joy - Page 104 (1)

Hi Everyone! This is a card that I made for my sister and brother-in-law for their anniversary. I wanted to wait until they had received it before posting it. Didn’t want to spoil the surprise!

I wanted to create a more simple card and so decided to showcase this gorgeous wedding cake stamp from the new Whiff of Joy release. I colored it with copics and then added twinkling H20s to the cake itself. I then cut the image out using this nice nestabilitie shape and while it was still in the die, I masked the image and then airbrushed the background. I used a light yellow around the cake and then a light blue towards the edges. I stamped the sentiment and then used a ribbons tag die to cut it out and airbrushed it as well. The white background was run through the cuttlebug with an embossing folder.

That’s it for me today! I have a few DT cards to finish up and I HAVE to get cracking on the teachers’ gifts! Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

The Sweet Stop #8

Sweet N Sassy - Page 088

Hi Everyone. It looks like we are going to have another gorgeous, sunny day over here! Just sent the kids off to school slathered in sun screen. Only a few more days now until they are on Summer Vacation and they are barely able to contain themselves!

Today I have my card for this week’s Sweet Stop to show you. I used one of the new release sets In His Time for both the image and the sentiment. The butterfly was colored with Copics and then with Twinkling H20s and cut out and adhered just in the middle to the card. That way the wings fold up away from the card. The white panel was also stamped with the same butterfly image but this time using ink that matched the cardstock. I made the diamond grid on the embossed panel with my scor-pal and then lightly sponged over it.

  • Stamps: Sweet ‘n Sassy In His Time
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Almost Amethyst
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, Almost Amethyst
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Twinkling H20s
  • Embellies: SU Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by. If you swing by The Sweet Stop, you can see the lovely cards my fellow DT sisters have made.

Have a wonderful day!

Willow and Her Baby

Whiff Of Joy - Page 105

Hi Everyone! I am sorry that I haven’t posted a winner yet for my blog candy. I am having so much trouble with blogger. As soon, as the problems clear up, I will announce a winner. I also wanted to tell you all that I made a tough decision lately and have stepped down from the Whimsy Stamps Design Team. I just found that I had too much on my plate and asked to end my term sooner. I really loved being part of the team with such lovely people and such cute stamps and I will miss them all. I will be better able to fulfill my other commitments and I hope to be able to visit more of you blogs. Something that I have had a hard time doing lately!

Now, onto today’s card. The newest Whiff of Joy collection is a huge hit and the stamps are flying off the shelves! Today my card features Willow and her baby. Isn’t this so sweet and tender?

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy: Willow holding baby
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Bazzill, Almost Amythest, Basic Grey Wisteria
  • Coloring: Copic Markers
  • Embellies: Hero Arts Pearls, May Arts Ribbon , SU button

Thanks for stopping by! I hope Blogger will let me publish this to my blog! Fingers crossed!

Sweet ‘n Sassy Round-Up

Sweet N Sassy - Page 083Sweet N Sassy - Page 086 Sweet N Sassy - Page 084 (1) Sweet N Sassy - Page 085

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope that you all had a great week-end! We had the most gorgeous weather and we spent the majority of our time outside with the boys. It was fabulous.

Today is our Sweet ‘n Sassy Round-up and we are showing you the new surprise releases for June. I have made a fun little twist on a birthday card. I followed a tutorial that I found on Splitcoasters for a Double Pocket Bag and used the new Birthday Buddies set and the previously released Spring Scenes set.

The scene on the front was made by stamping and masking the various stamps. There are a total of 5 different stamps on the front. (6 if you count the sentiment) These sets are so versatile and you can create many different scenes just by switching up a couple of the stamps!

Each pocket in the bag has a little pull out card. One contains a gift card and the other has another cute little birthday critter and a place for your salutations.

  • Stamps: Sweet ‘n Sassy Birthday Buddies, Spring Scene
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU: Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou , K& Co
  • Coloring: Copic Markers & Airbrushing
  • Embellies: Ribbon American Crafts from my sweet friend Janette

I hope you have the chance to visit our SNSS blog to see the other creations from my lovely fellow DT members and I’d like to invite you to our release party tonight at 8pm EST that will be held at at our forum. I will be there as will Korin and the rest of the DT. We always have a real hoot and it is great fun! I would love to get a chance to meet and talk with you!

Perfect Love ~ Sketch Saturday Week #55

Sketch Saturdays - Page 108

Hi Everyone! Thanks for stopping by today! I have my card for Sketch Saturday to show you! The sketch is a gorgeous one. I have used three of the new Whiff of Joy stamps to create a little scene card. It ended up a little larger than I had anticipated so while I did follow the sketch, it is a bit covered up by the image! OOPs!

To create this scene, I first stamped the swing onto my paper. I then airbrushed it with a few colors to give a very soft backdrop for the happy couple. Since the airbrushing is quite light, especially around the swing, it really doesn’t affect the colors that you add later. I usually like to mask the image before I airbrush, but the swing image really was too intricate so I am happy that what I did worked! Willow and Oakley were colored and then cut out. I have added a little bit of Shimmerz to them which you can see a little bit on the photo. It is so tricky to get a good shot of the effect. You can see it better on this lower photo! I have the sentiment extending slightly above my card because I wanted it to be centered and didn’t want to cover Oakley’s head. I airbrushed two of the pale pink roses with the same copic markers that I used to color the roses on my images. Love things to be “matchy-matchy”!

Sketch Saturdays - Page 107

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Mother’s Delight Collection (June 14th release)
  • Ink: Memento
  • Paper: Bazzil Cardstock, Paper Company Printed Vellum
  • Coloring: Copic Markers and Airbrushing
  • Embellies: Shimmerz, Ribbon from stash, Roses from Dollarama

The rest of my fellow Sketch Saturday have made fabulous cards to share with you and once again there is a delicious prize to be won from the The Cutting Cafe. Hope you find the time to play along!

Have a Happy and Fabulous Weekend!

A Baby is a Blessing ~ Friday Sketchers Week#56

Jeanette Week #56

Hi Everyone! This week, it is my turn to host the Friday Sketchers Challenge. That means that I created the sketch for everyone to follow! I really hope you all like it. I much prefer to follow sketches rather than create them, but I think this one is fun as it is really open to interpretation. Please have a look at the FS blog and you will see how my fellow DT all did different and amazing things with the sketch!Sketch Week # 56

As soon as I received my Whiff of Joy DT kit on Monday, I knew that I was going to use this image for today’s card. Elisabeth has captured the tenderness and incredible love that you feel when you hold your little baby in your arms. It just reminds me of my boys when they were this little. I remember how it was to hold them, content from a feeding and so warm and soft and their incredible sweet “baby” smell. Sigh! They are getting so big now. The “baby” will turn 4 next month.

I have added Shimmerz to Willow’s dress and a tiny bit of fun flock to the little one’s sleeper. The flowers were originally white, but I airbrushed them with my copic system to match the cardstock. I have discovered that BG72 is very good match to SU’s Baja Breeze and Parisien Breeze.

  • Stamps: Image and Sentiment both Whiff of Joy’s Mother’s Delight Collection (Release date is June 14th)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Parsien Breeze DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers and Airbrushing
  • Embellies: Flowers from ATS, K&CO Adhesive Pearls, Shimmerz in Ocean Breeze, Fun Flock in Cotton Ball White, May Arts Ribbon

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have the chance to try out my sketch and participate in this week’s Friday Sketchers! I will be back tomorrow with my Sketch Saturday DT card. I have used another of the new WoJ stamps….they are just exquisite!

The Sweet Stop Challenge #07 & SNSS June Sneak Peek

Sweet N Sassy - Page 082

I just love the sketches from The Sweet Stop! A good sketch is really what jump-starts my creative process when I am making a card. I really love it when the sketch is already done for me! I can just concentrate on coloring and picking out the DP!

I am giving you a little sneak peek of a stamp in one of the new June release. They will all be available as of June 15th at Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Online Store.

This little guy is one of a few cute little party critters and I have used just one of the many sentiments that come in the Birthday Buddies Set. I have colored him with copic markers and cut him out. This images are so ideal for copic marker coloring. If you are just starting out, you should think of investing in one of these cute sets once they are out!

  • Stamps: Sweet ‘n Sassy Birthday Buddies
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versa color for sentiment
  • Paper: SU Tempting Turquoise, Salebration DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers
  • Embellies: SU Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by. Stop by the Sweet Stop to see the other cards the rest of the DT have created  and maybe you’ll be inspired to create one of your own. We’d love to see it!

Wedding Carriage ~ Another Sneak Peek

Whiff Of Joy - Page 102 (1)

I have another little peek of one of the soon-to-be released WoJ stamps! Every single one of them is stunning and I wish that I had more time to just ink them all up at once! They will be available as of June 14th so you don’t have too much longer to wait. I have a feeling, judging from the response thus far, that they are going to go rather quickly. So, try to order them on the 14th so you won’t be disappointed and find that they just flew off the shelves and the stock is depleted. Can you imagine having to wait even longer until more are made?

This very romantic scene was so much fun to work with. I am entering it is the Copic Creations Challenge as the theme is to color something clear/transparent. It may be a tiny part of the whole stamp, but Willow’s veil does qualify! To achieve the illusion of a veil, I colored her hair that is under the veil a little lighter. I then went over that part with my colorless blender to really smooth out any lines. I then took BG000 and added the shadows of the veil and went over that with the blender. Finally, I added a little Angel Dust Shimmerz to the veil to add a little sparkle! You can see it better here:

IMG_8677

When Katharina showcased this stamp a few days ago, she added Flower soft to the flowers in the carriage. I loved the effect so much that I did the same. In fact, it just cried out for it! I added extra foliage with my Martha Stewart Leaf punch. I thought it would look fun if some of the “flowers” were falling out of the carriage so I added some more flower soft underneath it.

  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Bazzill Bling Cardstock. The Paper Company stamped vellum
  • Coloring: Copic markers, Copic Airbrushing
  • Embellies: Fabricville Satin Ribbon, Clear Gemstones from stash

Thanks for stopping by. I will be showing you my card for The Sweet Stop Challenge tomorrow!

Sweet Angel ~ Whiff of Joy Sneak Peek & Blog Candy

Whiff Of Joy - Page 100 My Whiff of Joy DT package arrived in the mail today! I was delighted and while my little guy took a nap, I was able to get a card made.

If you have been looking at the Design Team’s sneak peeks, you must know that these are the most exquisite stamps. Elisabeth & Katharina have outdone themselves with this release!

I have used the sketch from the Sukkersott challenge because I thought it was such a gorgeous one and I wanted to create a soft and dreamy card to suit Willow’s sweet expression. What a perfect image to use as a baby shower card!

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Mother’s Delight Collection – Available as of June 14th
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versa Color Bamboo (for sponging)
  • Paper: SU Soft Sage, Basic Grey Wisteria, PaperTrey Everyday Blessings
  • Coloring: Copic Markers, Shimmerz
  • Embellies: SU Ribbon, Hero Arts Pearls. Flower made with Spellbinders Dies

I honestly didn’t know which stamp to start with! How can you choose when each stamp is just as gorgeous as the next? I ended up choosing this one because I have an extra one of these to give as a blog candy! Katharina is such a sweetie!

Today is actually my Blogoversary! To celebrate, I have added a few little extras of some of my favorite stamping goodies. So the lucky winner will get this sweet stamp and all the goodies in the photo. The DP is from Papertrey and there is also the matching ribbon! I tried to co-ordinate it all for you!

Whiff Of Joy - Page 099IMG_8674
