Happy Friday and Happy Canada Day! When I was a little girl (my boys would say that it was a long, long, time ago) I used to get so excited when I would hear the melody of the Ice Cream Truck. In fact, I would say it caused almost mass hysteria in the neighborhood as we would all take off running home to see if we would be given some money for ice cream. Now, even if we did get the money, that still meant you had to take off running after the truck. Did I mention that sometimes this was all done barefoot on hot asphalt? If you ask why, then I will have to tell you that it was impossible to get enough speed whilst wearing flip-flops. They were most often ditched mid-run. Okay, I digress, let get to today’s card and video.
I loved this set from the moment I set eyes on it. I have some more ideas for a few more cards but today it is the Ice Cream truck that is the star of the show. I went with a simple one layer card that has little extra elements added to it to keep it from being plain.
Liquid Applique has been in my little craft drawer for ages and I thought it was the perfect time to crack it open again and add some fun dimension to the ice cream. I also added glossy accents to the windows in the truck as well as the music notes. To add a pop of white, I used a Sharpie Poster Paint pen and also heat embossed the very accurate sentiment with white powder.
This card makes me happy…..and a little hungry for soft vanilla ice cream in a sugar cone with sprinkles on top ;)
