Trick or Treat

Happy Wednesday!  I had to think for a moment. This week is flying by and we will be into October on Friday!

I have a few more Halloween themed cards to share and this is a slimline style one.

Here is how I made it.  I created a cardbase out of orange cardstock.  The card measures 3.5" x 8.25".  I then used the two larger dies in the Slimline ATC Windows Die Set to cut out the black frame as well as the patterned paper inserts.  I used paper from the SuReally Cool Paper pack and aligned the die over the centers of the pattern.

I then stamped the patterned paper die cuts using the main stamps in the Trick of Treat House Clear Stamp Set. In fact, I stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and then sprinkled clear embossing powder over top and heat set it.  I give a deep, dark and slightly shiny effect.  I adhered all the components together onto the cardbase.

I die cut one of the spiders from the Spiders and Webs Die set and sponged on some white ink to give some contrast.  The "beware" sentiment is from the same Trick of Treat House Clear Stamp Set and was heat embossed with white powder.

Thanks for swinging by! I hope that I am inspiring you for Halloween!

Halloween 2017 |Whimsy Monster Tages + Video

Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by!  If you also follow me on my Instagram you will know that I am in the midst of a HUGE kitchen reno! After many years of talking about it, putting it on hold last year, it is finally HAPPENING! We are all beyond excited and I am of course going crazy with design choices and decisions! I may create a dedicated post here to talk about it but for now, if you follow me on Instagram: inkspots  - you will get snippets of what is happening!

I have a fun set of tags and one picture frame insert to share with you and they all feature the adorable new clear stamp set from Whimsy Stamps. These cuties would look great on a variety of Halloween crafty makes. I made a tag and a frame insert but you could create a trifold card, treat boxes or bags or even a fun Halloween banner! The possiblitlies are endless!

I am going to add this to a picture frame for my Halloween decor. The background is a digital paper from Whimsy stamps that I may be slightly obsessing over lately. It is so darned PERFECT!

All images were stamped on my favorite Bristal Strathmore watercolor paper that pairs up fabulously with Zig Clean Color real brush markers. I can’t believe how much of a difference this paper makes to my coloration. It is well worth picking up and checking out for yourself!

T’is Near Halloween | Whimsy Art Journal Page +Video

Happy Friday! I have a new video to share with you today that features one of the new Whimsy Digital images released today! I totally adore this cute little witch with her lovely, long, flowing curly hair. I knew that she would look great featured on an Art Journal page. It didn’t take long for me to find the perfect backgound for her – it is one of Whimsy’s digital papers. This made it super easy to merge it together with the image as well as a Whimsy Digital sentiment that was PERFECTION for the page. I really love when crafty things come together so nicely as easily.

The video is basically a coloration video with a little bit of this & that thrown in – Enjoy!

Halloween 2017–Sleepy Hollow |Whimsy Stamps

Happy day! I have another Halloween card to share with you and it features an incredible new die set from Whimsy’s new release! This is the Headless Horseman die set but I keep calling it the Sleepy Hollow die set….hence the blog post title :)

I always forget how fast it is to create a card if you don’t actually have to color anything! I made this card in record time!

I love, love this sentiment and how beautifuly it cuts out!

The spooky background was so much fun to make. I love playing with distress inks. At first it just looks rubbish but as you keep working on it, it turns into something amazing!

Pumpkin Witchy | Halloween 2017 +Video

Happy Wednesday! I have the first Halloween-themed card of the year to share with you today!

It features Whimsy’s August release image Pumpkin Witchy! I inked this cutie up using Memento London Fog ink. This ink is a lot lighter than the Tuxedo Black ink that I usually use with my Copics. This means that the inked lines fade into your coloration and give your image that “no-lines” look!

I alos used a few more Whimsy products to create this fun card. I love how all the elements came together!  The paper is from a digital file which makes it so easy to use. You just print out the patterns that you need when you need them! The sentimet and the doodle lines are from 2 different clear stamp sets and I used my FAVORITE rectangle dies to cut out the card mats. I love the uneven stitched lines around the edges!

Tiddly Inks

Happy Wednesday everyone! It is raining like crazy right now. I am so happy that I did all my yard work yesterday- putting those lovely gardens to bed for the winter. It has been busy and I am going to be sharing two Tiddly Ink cards with you today to try to catch up!

First off we have the Art Journal page that I made for Fab Friday.

DSC_0114

This is my Halloween jam! I love, love this image:Forever. Perfect for Halloween and afterwards I will be adding it to my Art Journal. I paired it up with images from the Vampire Extra Pack to create a Halloween scene that my middle son has declared to be pretty AND creepy….not to be confused with pretty creepy. He will be happy I clarified that for you.

DSC_0116

The image was colored with Copic markers and then I cut it out. The background was created on some watercolor paper and distress inks (which I totally forgot to make a note of…sorry) The moon was colored over with a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen.

Now onto my wee creation for the new Tiddly Inks challenge: Spooky Dooky.

DSC_0121

This card measures 5x5” and uses  Wizard and Twisted Tree digital images. I created a small distress ink background and colored the images with Copic Markers.

Hope you can join in the fun. Click the logo below to be taken to the challenge post:

That is it for me! Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

Tiddly Inks ~ Fab Friday

Happy Friday! I am back to share another Tiddly Inks creation with you. From the minute I saw this image, I knew that I wanted to print it out large and add it to a watercolored background for my Art Journal. I have been watching some of Kristina Werner’s video and how she creates such gorgeous backgrounds with distress inks and I wanted to try it out. Generally, I sponge on my Distress inks and then add water. This time I tried things a little differently :)

DSC_0010

I might go ahead and write something along the bottom with some Sharpie Poster paint, but I am still not sure what I want to write! It will come to me I am sure!

I added some Crystal Stickles around the circular part of the image. It just need a little something and that touch of sparkle was it!
