Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a lovely week-end! Our Saturday was a wee bit crazy with me off teaching, my eldest off skiing, a hockey game, a hockey practice, bowling party and dinner at Casa Grecque. Whew! I needed all of Sunday to recover…actually we need Sunday to get all the homework done!

Today I want to share a card I made for this week’s Stamp & Create Product Spotlight which is:

Magnolia Stamps

These are probably one of everybody’s favorite line of stamps so a sale on them is amazing! Lacey just re-stocked a lot of the ones that had been sold out but better grab them quick! They will range in discount from 10% – 25% which is an incredible deal!

I was happy to color up one of these cuties. I can’t believe that it has been so long since I colored one!

I chose the sweet Ice Tilda and colored her up in shades of icy blue. This stamp is part of the Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection which I thought was a really wonderful one from Magnolia.

Seems like I am making more of this size card lately. It is a nice change from the square cards I generally make. I used Bo Bunny's Snowfall paper pad as well as Light blue wrinkled ribbon and the bow-easy to complete my card. The stamped sentiment is from Verve Stamps and the little border flourish was made using a MFT die!

La-La Land New Release

The new release is available for pre-order and will start shipping out on February 10th! I am totally head over heels with all the new images! I know that you are going to love them. The Design Team will be previewing the new release today.

For my card, I decided to use this sweet Marci & Cat image. I wanted to create a fun shaped-card and decided to use this flower pot shaped that I found over at the Silhouette store.

I think it it so cute how the flowers pull out so that you can leave a special message. I cut everything out with various colored card-stock and gently sponged each piece with matching ink before adhering them together with tape. I think this really finishes the project off and makes it look more professional. After that, I stamped my sentiments which are from a Verve Stamps set. I then spritzed each piece with Studio Calico’s Mr. Huey white mist. Again, I think this adds another layer to the project and makes it look that much nicer. I tied a silk May Arts ribbon around the top in place of the cut out piece that was included with the die-cut shapes.

La-La Land Craft Stamps Inspiration Friday

Happy Friday! Today’s card is for La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday. This week the theme is:

Love –Themed Cards

With all the gorgeous new releases, I had never had the opportunity to color in Capri Marci! Can you believe it? She is totally adorable and I thought she would look great on a simple Valentine card.

The sentiment is from a SU! set, the doily was die cut using a Cherry Lynn designs metal die. I cannot believe how well this intricate design cuts out. I am definitely very pleased with the die and will be buying some more for sure! I used a PTI die for the banner and a SU! Sizzix embosslit for the heart. The patterned paper was retrieved from my scrap drawer. I think it was Daisy Bucket or Daisy D. Not sure which. Everything was sponged with Worn Lipstick distress ink.

Whiff of Joy ~

Happy Wednesday! Well, we have made it to the middle of the week! We have had such mild temperatures the last few days that it looks very much like we have a river of slush flowing down our street! I took the opportunity to attack all the semi-melted ice and snow that we had on our drive-way! An hour later and my walk and drive are free of snow and ice!

Today I have another Whiff of Joy card to show you. I was inspired by the extremely talented and super sweet Ingrid to go a little more vintage with my card. She made a card that used this stamp with a bird-cage die-cut shape and I just loved that idea. Here is Ingrid’s gorgeous card ~here~ and this is mine:

The patterned paper is from Websters pages. The birdcage is from a Kerri Bradford kit (she is phenomenal) and was cut out with my Silhouette SD from some AC textured cardstock. I then used the WoJ clear text stamp and Antique linen Distress ink to stamp over on top of the cage. Then I carefully sponged around the edges. After that , I sprayed it with some Mr Huey’s White mist for a little bit of a pop. This fits in with this week’s Papertake challenge: highlighting.

I die-cut the hearts and the heart border from WoJ metal dies using my Bigshot. The key is from my stash…where it came from is anybody’s guess but it was exactly what I wanted.

The brads, twine and the gorgeous ribbon are all from WoJ too! I am loving the fact that Katharina is bringing all these high-quality embellishments into her store!

Hi everyone! I don’t have a card to share with you today. Instead I thought I would let you know about a few changes that you may or may not have noticed on my blog :)

Last year, things started to get a little more hectic for me and I began to think long and hard about what my goals were for this coming year and to re-assess where I was devoting some of my time.

As you probably know if you follow my blog, I have a great husband, 3 amazing boys that we are raising and I volunteer within our community. I wanted to make sure that these things remained my priority and my focus this year.

Since my youngest has started school, I have been able to start teaching coloration classes at a store nearby (Scrapbook Centrale). To be perfectly honest with you, one of the reasons I decided to do this was just to challenge myself. I tend to be a little shy with people I don’t know and I wanted to overcome this. Now, I look forward to my classes and have had the pleasure to meet so many lovely ladies :) I am soooo glad that I took that plunge.

I embarked on my first December Daily Album in 2011. It is finished…..well almost. I just have the pictures from the 24th and 25th to slip in and then I can call it done :) It was an amazing experience for all of us. It truly is a phenomenal way to BE PRESENT in the moments and the delights of such a short but wonderful time of the year. The first time my 10-year old son said to me “Quick, get the camera! This would be a great picture for our December Daily!” I knew in that instant that this album really worked! I had been a scrap-booker before I discovered the world of stamping and unfortunately, this fell by the wayside. I decided that it was too important to let this continue. So, this is one of the first changes that I have made. I am doing a Project Life album this year. I hope to be able to keep it going for the entire year.

I have had a lot of emails and comments about my videos. Don’t worry. I will continue making them. In fact, I hope to make them a little more regular feature on my blog. Again, I need the time. Filming and then editing them so that they are not overly long…is a little time-consuming. At least it is for me. I am teaching myself as I go along.

All this to say, I did have to step down from 2 of the design teams that I was on. It was not easy, but I knew that I could not continue to juggle so many DT commitments. It was becoming increasingly difficult. So, I stepped down from the Pink Ink Sketch challenge in the Fall and have now stepped down from the Sketch Saturday Challenge as well. I had taken a break from SS for the last month or so, but realized that it was indeed time to leave. I am going to miss all the girls and Jo especially.

I will still serve on the Design Teams of Whiff of Joy Stamps, Tickled Pink Stamps, La-la Land Craft Stamps and the on-line store Stamp & Create. I hope to now have to time and the freedom to create and post a little more according to my schedule, to continue making instructional videos and to teach.

I am excited to be doing Project Life. I love the idea of creating an album that truly reflects the way we are as a family. Crazy, goofy, not always perfect but one that is filled with love and laughter. To document the little things that make each of us who we are. I am not sure if I will be sharing these pages here on my blog. I am not sure there would be that much interest in seeing them. You guys come here to see my cards. I will have to think more on that.

I promise that this will be the longest post in 2012. Tomorrow I will return with a new card to share with you all!

Whiff of Joy Challenge #121

Happy Saturday! I hope that your week-end is off to a great start! It is still quite cold over here and so, not much to do outdoors :( We are hoping that if the temperature rises by Sunday, we can go skiing as a family. We have tons of snow but when it is this cold, it just isn’t so much fun. The little ones get too cold……well….I do as well if truth be told!

Before I forget, I will be teaching over at Scrapbook Centrale next Saturday so for all of you who have been waiting for my next Copic Coloring class…I will teaching two! In the morning the Intro class and in the afternoon the Shading class. Please contact the store for all the details and to reserve your spot. The calendar is not out yet but I thought I’d let you know! I will be doing 3 more classes in February too :)

As well, I finally had the chance to load up some cards on Ebay. I know it has been a while and I apologize. I hope to get more up in the next days!

Love is in the Air

A perfect theme for this time of the year and I had the perfect stamp to create a card with! Are you LOVING the WoJ January release? I know that I am going to get a lot of Valentine projects made using just this one release!

I {heart} this image. It just speaks to me. He is adorable and tiny against that gorgeous and huge rose! The smile on his face reminds me of my munchkins when they have a little something to give to me :)

I was happy that this stamp lends itself so well to be cut out in a circle. I was able to use this Spellbinders die set that has had far too little use. My image was colored with Copic markers and then I went in here and there with prismacolor pencils to add some depth to the shading. The background was also created with the pencils and then I added some dots with a white gel pen. Amazing how that one little step just brightens up the whole thing!

The paper is from one of my all time favorite Basic Grey paper packs: Bittersweet. I have two almost full packs that I have been hoarding and quite frankly….I have to start using them because new paper keeps sneaking into my craft studio. It is a sickness.

I tucked a doily in behind the main image and die cut some leaves with a WoJ die to add to the sides. The tag was cut with another WoJ die and then stamped with two other WoJ stamps: one that adds the lines and then a sentiment. The brads are…..yes….Whiff of Joy and so it that gorgeous ribbon! I am so happy that Whiff of Joy is not stocking ribbon. It is a great weight and ties so perfectly. Love, love it!

Tickled Pink January Release Day #6

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Hope you are all having a great day wherever you are!

It is now Day #6 and the final day of the new Tickled Pink January Release the Lil Greek Gods Collection.This collection will be released on January 20th Australian time which means that it is available today …..January 19th for us in Canada and the United States. I know that they are going to be going fast. Each and every one of these images is original and amazing!

Today we are previewing: Lil Greek Aphrodite Willow

Originally, I had planned to color Aphrodite Willow’s hair a lovely golden shade…..which is how Aphrodite is usually depicted. I also wanted her to be wearing a white colored gown with this pop of red as her cloak. I decided that the blonde hair wouldn’t work after all and went with the stronger raven black hair instead. I am really happy with this choice as it just fits in with the rest of the card: the cream and white DP which is from Websters Pages and the columns which I cut using my Silhouette SD and some cream American crafts cardstock. To add more pops of red, I added this heart (from the $ store), tiny red adhesive gemstones, PTI bakers twine and Stampin’ Up satin ribbon. I sponged the columns with Antique Linen Distress Ink and also sponged a little bit directly on the DP, to create some shadows and make the columns stand out better against the cream background.

Again, I went with a very simple design. The papers are all bits and bobs from my scrap drawer. Papers from WoJ, MME and Websters. I thought this Tim Holtz clock die would be a perfect background to Apollo….nevermind that this is a Greek collection and those are Roman numerals….what do they call it? Artistic Licence? LOL! The brads are from a SU! Vanilla Hodge Podge set.

Tickled Pink January Release Day # 4

Today we are previewing another amazing image: Orpheus Willow

My card was cut with my Silhouette SD machine. I re-sized the cut file so that my card is a 5.5-inch square. The yellow patterned paper is from an old Stampin’Up paper pack and the aqua-blue paper is from MME Lost & Found Breeze 6x6 paper pack. I kept the card fairly simple with just a little paper piercing and the addition of two flowers in the corner.

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight

Happy Monday! Whew! What a crazy weekend! We had a snowstorm that seemed to go on forever :) We have tons of snow. My husband had driven my middle son to a game for a hockey tournament on Friday afternoon. It was quite a way out from where we live and the driving conditions and the traffic were terrible. They did arrive safe and sound and just barely in time for the game. Afterwards, the roads were still awful there and and here and so we decided that they should just look for a place to stay the night instead of trying to get home. My son had another game there the next day, so it just made more sense. They had no change of clothes, no toiletries….nothing but they are both easy-going guys and they called it an adventure!

Meanwhile, my eldest who is part of a ski club, needed to be at the meeting place at 6:30am on Saturday. So, yes, that was me shovelling out my drive-way at 5:30 in the morning and trying to de-ice my van so that I could get him there. Boy, did I appreciate the fact that my husband usually does this. The rest of the weekend was cozy and quiet and we just hung out indoors because it is frigid outside. Way too cold for me!

The paper is from a Pink Paislee paper pack. The accent corners are Tim Holtz Ideology Corners that were distressed a little bit by adding some Antique Linen Distress Crackle Paint. The heart charm adds a final little to the bow which was tied using the Bow Easy.

Tickled Pink January Release ~ Day #1

Happy Friday Everyone! It is Day #1 of the new Tickled Pink January Release and I have to tell you….it has been hard to keep these beauties a secret. I absolutely squealed when I saw this new release and I am happy to tell you that it will be available very soon! Introducing the:

Lil Greek Gods Collection

Today the Tickled Pink Design team starts previewing the first image of the new release: Lil Lolita Athena Lilith.

I just {heart} this image! I knew right away the color palette I would be using on Athena Lilith. I searching the Silhouette on-line stored and found this great cutting file. I cut it out using my Silhouette SD on cream AC cardstock. I sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink and sprayed it with Mr. Huey’s White mist from Studio Calico. I wanted to give it an aged feel. I rifled through my 6x6 paper pack stash and found these papers. They were loose but I believe that they are Websters’ Pages.

La-La Land Craft Inspiration Friday

Happy Friday!

I can’t believe how quickly the week went! The kids are back in school and I have sooo many things to get caught up with! I am pleased to say that I really did accomplish quite a bit, both in the house and in my craft room. I worked on some coloration for an upcoming release as well as cards that will be published in an upcoming Spring edition of a magazine! I am pretty thrilled. This will be the fourth time that I am published! So, lots of projects made that I can’t show you yet! LOL! I CAN, however share my card for this week’s La-La Land Craft Inspiration Friday! The theme this week is:

Create a Scene

To create my scene, I have used Mod Marci, the Suitcase set, and one of the dogs from the Tuffy Set. Do you love this scene! Well, I have amazing news for you! Irina has put together this amazing scene for you digitally! It is what I actually used and I was thrilled with the ease of having all the work done for me. It is a pretty sweet bargain too!

If you haven't been to the LLLC Store in a while, you may have missed some of the new things Irina has added. You should head on over and check out the "OTHER" section... Irina is now carrying sentiment stamps and Cheery Lynn Dies (these are amazing dies)! She also has more DIGI SCENES that she has created using various LLLC images!

Here is the Mod Marci Digi Scene 1 Digital Stamp:

Since the scene is quite large, I kept the rest of my card simple. I used paper from MME Lost & Found Collection. The seaming binding ribbon, stripped ribbon and paper clip are from Stampin’ Up and the clouds were made from a Hero Arts stamp set. Love, love the polka dots on the clouds!

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight and Challenge

Happy Monday Everyone and I also want to wish you a Happy New Year as well! I took an unplanned blogging vacation and I apologize for my absence. We ended up going away (again) over New Years and once back at home, we have been skiing with the kids. Today is their first day back to school and after so long a holiday, it was rough for all of us to get up early and get back to that routine again! I hopefully won’t be going anywhere anytime soon…..it seems like I have been packing and unpacking every single month lately :)

I have a bunch of cards that I need to get posted and some project deadlines looming so I am kicking back into gear here in my studio!

There is a new Stamp and Create monthly Challenge that starts today. Our theme is anything goes. Nice and easy and a perfect way to ease back into things :)

I used the sweet Wags ‘n Whiskers image Say A Prayer image to create this card. The image was colored with Copics and Prisma Color pencils. I used the Bow Easy to tie this luxurious bow made with White May Arts Silk ribbon. The centers of the flowers are Kaiser Craft Pearls in Pearl. I really love the look of white on white and using different textured elements keeps it from being boring. I embossed the background panel of my card with a SU! folder and added some machine stitching.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! We had a wonderful time and it was magical for the children. I was hosting this year and so I was pretty busy in the days leading up to the 25th. It has taken a few days for me to shake off being so tired and get back to the crafty side of my life. My December Daily is completed and I am so happy that I undertook this project. The kids loved it and so did my hubbie. I still plan to show you the completed album but again….need the time!

Today I have a sneak peek of one of the new Whiff of Joy images that will be released on January 5th. I have made a “thank-you” card for my boys to give.

The image was colored with Copic Markers and I cut it out and adhered it to a scalloped square that I sponged with Tumbled glass distress ink. The paper is from October afternoon, the ribbon from stash and the red balls were from this year’s Christmas crackers! Recycling!

Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar Window #20

Happy Tuesday! This is Window # 20!

Welcome to the Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar!! I am so excited because today it is my turn once again to host Whiff of Joy's advent calendar window!

I used the wonderful stamp with Henry mouse: Nativity Scene and this is Day # 15 in my December Daily album. The paper is from MME Lost & Found collection and I adhered some different ribbons to the panel. The text is a Technique Tuesday Stamps set by Ali Edwards. The banner with 15 was made with the Whiff of Joy banner die. I have a soft spot in my heart for this stamp because it reminds me of the wooden Nativity scene that I bought a few years back so that my children could actually touch and move around the figures of the Nativity scene without any worry about breaking the figures. I had (and still have) a beautiful porcelain one but didn’t ever want them to handle it but at the same time, I wanted them to feel close and comfortable with the scene. So, when I saw the rustic wooden one….it came home with me. Right now, they have it set up so that the kings are a long way off….still travelling….I plan to include a picture of it in my DD as well.

Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar ~ Window 17

Happy Saturday! This is Window # 17!

Welcome to the Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar!! I am so excited because today it is my turn to host Whiff of Joy's advent calendar window!

One lucky commenter on this post will win the gorgeous stamp that I have used.

This is my page for Day # 2 of my December Daily Album. I used a 6x6 page protector and created this sweet insert for it. I used “Dancing with Gingerbread Man”. I adore anything gingerbread, so this stamp is one of my favorites!

The lettered patterned paper was from the Studio Calico kit and I do not recollect the manufacturer. The texted paper with the ornate frame and sentiment is from Simple Stories. Their 25 days of Christmas line is just fabulous and I have used it a lot in my album. I used a Martha Stewart border punch with cream cardstock to create the fancy border on top and below the focal image. The brad is from MME Lost & Found collection. To create the date for the page, I used a sweet tiny envelope (also in the kit) and stamped #2 on a tiny tag that I made using the Whiff of Joy metal tag die. I simply added some baker’s twine to complete the look.

Happy Thursday Everyone! I still haven’t taken pictures of my December Daily because I have been so busy trying to get it caught up! I now have Days 1-5 completed as well as Days 11, 12, 13. I hope to get these up for you by tomorrow :) I have been just running here and there….what a crazy week this has been. I love it all, but need a few extra hours of uninterrupted time to get to where I need to be!

Here is a card I made last month and never had the chance to post. It is a Mo’s Digital Image and I fell in love with it. I printed it out very lightly as is the new craze in coloring these days :)

Back from the Beach…

Hello my dear friends! My blog has been sadly neglected and for that I apologize! We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at the Beaches Resort in Turks & Caicos. It was a very much needed time to relax and spend time together as a family. We all had such a wonderful time.

I had all the days leading up to the vacation planned out….but what I didn’t plan on was getting a stomach virus a week before we left. It was brutal and I was bed ridden for several days. All my lovely plans went out the window and I wasn’t able to work ahead on my projects or do my Christmas cards and shopping before I left. I am so grateful that I was well for the trip and that no one else came down with it. I breathed a huge sigh of relief….can you imagine…..no….don’t!

So, bear with me as I get sorted out. I still have not tackled my inbox….it was full :) For now, I have a few photos for you from our trip. Sigh….I miss it already. I love being near the ocean.

I am trying to get my December Daily up to date……..and will start showing my days starting tomorrow. I’ll show them in groups until I am caught up :) For now, I want to share this special offer with you :)

I used this adorable Snowboarding Marci (there is a Luka one too and I am itching to color him up). I cut the snow-globe shape using my Silhouette and embossed the globe with a Cuttlebug folder. La-La Land Craft New December Release

What can I tell you? LLLC has done it again! The new release is tremendous and I have a card to share with you using one of the new images of sweet Marci!

I colored Marci in soft tones that I thought went well with the gorgeous Pink Paislee paper. I cut out a tag shape with my Silhouette and embossed it with a Hero Arts ledger stamp with white embossing powder. I sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I used a small Wilton doily, May Arts silk ribbon and SU! Hodge podge Hardware and sentiment to complete the look!

December Daily Album

Happy Thursday and Happy December 1st. I finally have all the pages and components of my December Daily photographed and ready to show you. I think I may have gone a little over-board! A couple of the panels (for days 2 & 15) will need to remain secret as they will be shown later this month….perhaps with a prize or two involved :)

This post is really photo heavy but I figured I would show you it all at once…I didn’t want to make you wait any longer. Hopefully as the month progresses and I add my personal photos to the album, I will have the time to share that with you as well. Okay…..here we go:

I covered my chipboard album with gesso, warm white acrylic paint and then a layer of matt mod-podge to protect it. The word “december” is from a Kerri Bradford cutting file, the numbers were in the Studio Calico kit as were the brad and snowflake (got that idea from Nichol Magourik) the frame is from SU! and I sprayed it with Mr Huey Hollyberry mist and added glitter glue to it ( I did the same with the title)

This will be my cover page. I will be adding another frame and then some text.

This chipboard calendar was also in the Studio Calico kit. I added the numbers with all old Hero Arts number stamp set and Jenny Bowlin Cough Syrup ink. I also added some stamped test along the bottom from an Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday stamp set.

Here are the pages and inserts. You can click on any picture and it will enlarge for you :) I added Hambly transparencies which I cut to fit and punched holes into. The die cuts are all from Kerri Bradford Kits, the stamps are from Whiff of Joy, Magnolia and Tickled Pink Stamps. Most accessories are from the Studio Calico kit and the rest is stash. I think I outline a lot of that in my intro video which you can find ~ here~

As you can see, I didn’t always use the same style to date my pages, I like that there are different styles and I think it makes if more fun to have to hunt a little for the date. I love uniform, but once in a while a little change is perfect :)

La-La Land Craft Inspiration

Happy Saturday Evening! We had a busy day today. We all were up bright and early to go to get our flu shot. Not a whimper out of the bunch….they are super troopers. We had a ton of things to do and a late afternoon hockey practice for the middle guy. I spent some time putting my craft room to rights and working on my December Daily….almost done :)

Here is my card from this week’s La-La Land Craft Inspiration which this week is Blue & Cream.

I created a diagonal fold card (see my video tutorial here) with some older SU! patterned paper that were the perfect tones for this challenge. I colored Pilgrim Marci to match.

I have had so many questions and comments about how I will be showing my December Daily Pages……I am going to try my best to share theses every few days, but they are just the bones of my project. Of course I have to have a few of the Christmas Magnolias in my album. For this page I used Ribbon Tilda. I forgot to add the glitter pen to the heart garland prior to taking my photo, but you can just pretend that it is there :) The paper is Simple Stories 25 days of Christmas and is a 12 x12 sheet that has these gorgeous tags that you just cut out. Love, love them and you will be seeing a lot of them in my album. The two chipboard accents are part of the Studio Calico kit and the twine is from PTI.

My Craft Room

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I had a super productive day yesterday and got a lot accomplished crafty-wise! I plan on taking photos of my cards today and then I can start sharing.

I also have more of my December Daily album done and I can’t wait to share that with you.

For today, I thought I would share a short video I made a while back for a Design Team. We were to share a tour of our crafty spaces. This is mine :)

And no, before I get tons of comments about the neatness, I doesn’t always look like this! Take today for example. It looks like a hurricane swept in but I do always tidy it all up before I start another batch of projects. So, it is either super neat or super crazy in here :)

Christmas Folder

Happy Saturday! Today I have a fun project for you to do now that will help you out next month :) I am ALL about organization lately. I want to make sure that once December rolls in, I will be able to tackle this busy season and be PRESENT in each special moment!

I love the holiday season and want to spend time enjoying it....not stressing about all the things I need to do.

Creating a Christmas Folder is a good way to keep your holiday plans and to-do lists all in one place and easily accessible. Create a folder that is embellished with all your favorite papers, tags and stamped images. It will make you smile every-time you pull it out! Add a mini-calendar and you will be all set!

This is the second year now that I have made a Christmas folder and it will be my constant companion from now until Christmas Day. It will house my lists for presents, menus and grocery lists, important dates, as well as a place to jot down my ideas for table settings, activities etc

The first thing I did was pull out the stamps (Whiff of Joy 2011 Christmas collection) and the papers that I wanted to use. Since the panels on my patterned paper (Simple Stories) were fairly big, I used a larger file folder and slightly modified the Accordion File Folder tutorial to accommodate the extra height. I created the tag inserts with my Silhouette SD and secured some ribbon to them so that I can slip my lists right between the ribbon and the panel.

Happy Saturday Everyone! Today I want to share something with you that I am super excited about. I am going to make a December Daily Album this year. I was totally inspired by the ones that I saw last year on some blogs and made a promise to make one myself this year. I hope it will be both fun and meaningful for our whole family.

Since it is my first time doing it, I decided to purchase the Studio Calico December Daily kit that Ali Edwards is using. It was my little splurge :)

I made a short video because it was a lot easier than photographing everything :)

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday

Today I am showing you some creations for LLLC Inspiration Friday!

Red, Lace & Pearls

I have used the too sweet Ruffles Marci and she has been colored to match the patterned paper from MME Lost & Found pad. Such a gorgeous pad. I love every pattern in it :) I added some SU! lace and some leaves cut with a WoJ metal die. The “pearl” part of my challenge comes from the berries that were actually decorations on last Christmas’s crackers! I knew they would come in handy :)

Isn’t she adorable? I paired her up with some patterned paper from Echo Park’s Wintertime collection. I love the combination of these shades of blue and red! They just make me happy! I added a snowflake that I bought at Michael’s last week and a button from SU! tied with some bakers’ twine.

You may be wondering about the number 16 in the corner. Well, all I will tell you right now is that this is NOT a card! Can you guess what I am will be using this for? Tune in later this week and I will let you all know what I have been up to in my craft room!

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight & Challenge

Happy Wednesday! OMGosh! I never meant to be absent for so long on my blog. Life just got really busy and I haven’t had the opportunity to post! I was away this weekend on our annual Girls’Shopping Trip to Albany! I had a ton of fun, little to no sleep and scored a lot of bargains! I cannot believe how much more we pay for things here in Canada. I blew my budget the first day over at NY&C. We basically took over the changing rooms and had a blast. I bought a few Christmas presents and a few goodies over at Michaels. You will be seeing some projects here soon! Anyway, this weekend has put we about 2 weeks behind in everything else! LOL!

This week, there is a new spotlight and a new challenge over at the Stamp & Create Blog.

I have been wanting to get this sweet image inked up from the moment I first saw it and I knew right away it would work well on this style of card fold. The patterned paper is from SU! and an old piece of MME paper from a few years ago. It ended up being more or less covered up :) I cut out the circles with my Spellbinders and then I embossed the white circle with my Swiss Dots embossing folder and my cuttlebug. I used some bakers’ twine to “string” the popcorn. Looks so cute!

The smaller sentiment is by Whimsy. I masked off the center part of the sentiment and then stamped another one from the same set into the center. I thought it was cook that the font matched the larger sentiment stamp! Love when that kind of thing happens. The leaves were made with a Whiff of Joy metal die.

Happy late Wednesday night! Sorry for such a late post! Just wanted to share one of my WoJ cards that I made using the new November stamps. This one is soooo sweet!

I picked out some bright patterned paper from a Kaiser Craft’s Carnival paper pad and chose my Copic Markers based on that. I added some cheese-cloth because I really {heart} the texture it adds to my card. I die cut some snowflakes with a WoJ die and the sentiment is also WoJ cut out with another of their dies. The pretty and bright ribbon is by Stampin’ Up.

Exciting News!

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I am on pins and needles and am just tooooooo excited! First of all, Whiff of Joy’s November release is now in da house! I think this may be one of the cutest and loveliest releases ever…..of course I say that every time :)

Even more exciting…..Whiff of Joy has become one of the newest Member Companies at Splitcoaststampers!

EEK! It has been hard to keep quiet about this and I was asked by Katharina to help her out with SCS so we have been busy working with the lovely girls over at SCS to set up our Company Forum! It has been a lot of fun……and we even had a little “spook” playing tricks on us yesterday….that is a story for another day!

I have used one of the sweet gnomes that were released last month from Whiff of Joy. Such a sweet image and such fun to color. I used paper from Basic Grey’s Eskimo Kisses paper pad and finally had enough courage to try to make my own paper flower. It was actually so easy to make using one of WoJ’s new dies. I can’t believe that I waited so long to try it out :)

I colored this sweetie up to match the fabulous papers from my new Simple Stories paper pad. This is my new favorite. I adore this color palette for Christmas cards and each and every sheet in this pack is perfection! I sponged with some Forest Moss Distress ink and the little filigree piece is from Wild Orchid Crafts. I couldn’t resist picked up a pack of these. They are lovely. I added some pretty ribbon and twine to the bottom and then some Liquid Pearls to my trees to complete my card. Sigh……happy with how this one turned out!

Whiff of Joy Sneak Peek ~ Cute Little Penguin

This is my second post today! To see my La-La Land Craft Inspiration Friday card, please scroll down one post!

I couldn’t resist showing you this card that I made using one of the new November releases from Whiff of Joy! OMGosh! They are all so cute and this little guy has stolen my heart!

I cute out this adorable snow-globe using my Silhouette SD. It cuts in three different sections. I cut them all on the same piece of white Neenah cardstock.

On the large globe section, I stamped my sweet penguin and then colored him up with my handy dandy Copics. I sponged all around the sides with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.The small section was covered with glue and then sprinkled with some heavy Martha Stewart Glitter…..mmmm…so sparkly! The base section was was sponged all over with Weathered Wood distress ink and then just the edges were sponged with Tumbled Glass. Then I embossed the sweet WoJ sentiment from last year’s Christmas collection in white embossing powder. I wound some baker’s twine around it an then adhered it to my card.

The patterned paper is from a Kaiser Crafts Christmas pad that is one of my favorites. I adore the color palette with the aqua and the red tones coupled with that fun and happy green! I added a couple of WoJ pearl brads to the top and called my card “DONE”!

That patterned paper was too gorgeous to cut into very much. Besides, I love the clean look of this card with the fancy witch hats lined up behind her. I created a little mat with another piece of DP and used the MS drippy goo punch to create the border. Then I tied some bakers twine to it. I designed and cut out the Spooky sentiment with my Silhouette SD.

La-La Land Craft Inspiration Friday

Happy Friday! The weekend is almost here…..that means that I don’t have to get up and make 3 lunches tomorrow….that is how I measure relaxation :) The mornings are always so busy in our household and I often think that I should just make the sandwiches or wraps the night before, but somehow that never gets done.

My card today is for La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday. Every Monday and Friday our Design Team will bring you a new and inspirational theme.

This week we are punching it out. Lets see what dies you have!!!~

I have used my new favourite La-La Land Craft stamp at the moment: Autumn Marci!

She was coloured in to match the wonderful and warm tones of this Pink Paislee patterned paper. I love that she looks a little bit more grown up an her hair style is gorgeous! I also used my brand new Tim Holtz clock die…..I think you will be seeing this one A LOT! I added a matching Pink Paislee felt embellishment to the center. I really like the way this looks. The final touch was two metal grommets from SU! That area of the card looked a little bare!

Whiff of Joy Christmas Aperture Card

Happy Thursday! Hope your week is going well so far. We are over the hump and the week-end will soon be here! Today, I would like to share a tutorial that I made that was published in a Russian Magazine earlier this year. It is an aperture card and I chose to showcase a few of the images from the Whiff of Joy 2010 Christmas stamp line. You could certainly switch this up to use any of your favourite stamps to create a lovely scene.

Materials:

Whiff of Joy Christmas Blessings Stamps 2010
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Neenah Solar Crest paper
Various Copic Sketch Markers
Cardstock (Stampin’ Up Early Expresso)
Designer Paper (Basic Grey Wassail, Kaiser Craft Devonshire)
Adhesive tape (Score-Pal)
Dimensional Foam Tape
Score-Pal or scoring tool
Die Cutting Machine (Cuttlebug)
Assorted Cutting Dies (Nestabilities 3”circle, 2.25” long oval, fancy tags; Nellie’s Multi-round die)
Leaf punch (Martha Stewart)
Ribbon (Stampin’ Up Victoria Crochet Lace)
Sharp scissors
Star embellishment
Adhesive pearls (Kaiser Craft)
Thread
Brown ink for sponging sentiment

Instructions:

1. Cut two pieces of cardstock 5-inches x 7-inches and score each at 0.5”, 1”, 6”, 6.5” as shown in photo.

2. Cut an aperture from one of these pieces using a cutting die and a die-cutting machine. Center the die as shown:

3. Fold the score lines on both pieces. It should look like this:

4. Add a strong adhesive tape along the sides of the folded tabs as shown:

5. Align the two pieces and press together. It should be able to stand alone.

6. Cut 2 pieces of designer paper to form 4.75-inch squares. Adhere one to inside of aperture card. Cut an aperture in remaining piece with the same cutting die used in step #2. Be sure to center the die in the middle.

7. Create a decorative mat for aperture. Use the die used in step #2 and a larger one. Cut both out at the same time, placing the smaller die inside the bigger one as shown:

8. Create stable roof. Cut cardstock to measure 1.5 x 7-inches and score at 1”. Cut across from edge to 0.5” score line as shown:

9. Punch multiple leaves out of leftover designer paper.

10. Attach roof over the aperture with adhesive tape and attach star embellishment to top with thread. Glue punched leaves to top of roof.

11. Stamp and color images from Whiff of Joy stamp kit. Stamps used for this project were Mary, Baby Jesus and Donkey. Images were stamped on Neenah solar crest paper and colored with various Copic Sketch markers. Cut out and adhere images to inside of card using dimensional foam tape.

12. Attach ribbon to each side of aperture and add decorative mat. Embellish with adhesive pearls.

13. Stamp sentiment on Neenah cardstock and cut out with cutting die. Sponge edges with brown ink. Cut decorative tag out of cardstock. Adhere the two together and then to front of card.

I hope this will inspire you to create your own aperture card using some of your favourite Whiff of Joy stamps! There are so many lovely ones to choose from and shhhhhh wait until you see the ones that are coming next month ;)

Happy Monday! Sorry for my late post….my little one woke up sick late last evening and I have been a little busy tending to him and cleaning up. Poor wee soul is feeling better now and I kept him home from school today. So….that is why this is a little late going up.

I decided to create a whole bunch of quick and easy bookmarks with some of the stamps in this category. When I was shopping for back to school supplies for my kids, I spotted a laminator on sale…….I couldn’t stop myself from buying it and I will be the first to admit that I have gone rogue with the machine! LOL! I keep thinking of more items that “NEED” to be laminated! LOL! In any event, laminating these bookmarks will ensure that they last a whole lot longer but they will be just fine if you don’t :)

Tickled Pink Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Happy Saturday! Today is the Tickled Pink Birthday Bash Blog Hop!

Kellie asked us to pick out our favorite Tickled Pink stamp and that would be the one we would use for the hop! OMGosh! I {heart} them all, but this one in particular is sooooo much fun to color!

Here is my card featuring Lil Victorian Steampunk Lolita Evie!

Don’t you love her dress? I made a quick video showing how I colored in the lower portion of her dress. I did speed up the video a little so that it wouldn’t get too long or boring……I don’t really color that quickly! LOL!

I have used the sketch from this week’s Sketch Saturday Challenge….I had a bit of a time crunch this week , so I combined 2 of my DT assignments ;) Sketch Saturday is being sponsored by Robyn’s Fetish Digital designs and more this week.

The papers are all Basic Grey Wisteria. They have the right amount of greys in the violets to do with the coloration of my dress. The birdcage and the key are both elements from a Kerri Bradford kit. I added the text to the cage and the texture to the key using my Silhouette software and a free text download and then used the print and cut feature to cut in out. Easy Peasy and they were the perfect vintage look to accompany my image.

Pink Ink Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday! Today I am sharing my card for this fortnight’s Pink Ink Sketch Challenge. We are being sponsored by Shop Pumpkin Spice. I have used another of the gorgeous new stamps illustrated by Sylvia Zet from SCACD! These images are so sweet and such a joy to color! This one is named Hope.

I know that pink is not a “traditional” Christmas color and this stamp isn’t really a Christmas image but in my mind, this was going to be a very girly and lovely Christmas card! LOL! I found some scraps of paper that had some pink poinsettias and this helped add to my theme!The roses are photographing a little dark than IRL. Sometimes it is a challenge to get all the components looking just right in your photo. They do match a whole lot better than they are showing!

I am entering this in this week’s Flutterby Wednesday as well: angel, butterfly or fairy and use your scraps.

La-La Land Craft Challenges

Happy Friday! Sorry for the long absence….I had a busy week and didn’t get the chance to post :) Today I have my card for this week’s La-Land Land Crafts Inspiration Friday.

Our challenge this week is : Hallowe’en!

I have used the totally cute Kitty Kat Marci for my card and given her some really bright orangey-red hair! The paper is by Pink Paislee as is the Hocus Pocus embellishment in the top left corner. I added some cheese-cloth to the background for a little texture.

I used my MS drippy goo punch to create the two black borders. I stamped a SU! sentiment in the top right corner and the fun label was a Print & Cut from the Silhouette store. Too funny!

I have used Sweet November Fairwee Daphne, Fairwee Josie, Mason Jar, and Magical Day saying for my card. I created a scene by masking the stamps. The images were colored using Copic Sketch markers that matched the colors in the patterned paper which is My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose Paper: Gertie and Hattie.

I added some butterflies that I cut out of the dp scraps using my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and attached with my tiny attacher by Tim Holtz. Such a handy-dandy little gadget. I tied a little baker’s twine around the bottom.

Lily of the Valley Challenge

Happy Sunday! We have had gorgeous weather. I just love a wonderfully warm Autumn day. Hope you are having a great day wherever you may be!

My card today was created to enter the LOTV challenge. The theme is “Let it Snow”.

I really {heart} aqua and I use it in my color schemes often…..it works well for Christmas and Winter! The image was colored in Copic Sketch markers and I added a glow from the lantern with some Y21. I even went over her face a wee bit. The snow flakes were treated with some Liquid applique and some stickles. Such a pretty look. I used some more cheesecloth on my card as well as a cute fence die but then I went and covered most of it up! OOPS! The paper is from Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper pad.

I am also going to enter it in the Anything Goes challenge (punches or dies), Craft Cardmaker (anything goes)

I keep forgetting to mention that this coming Friday (October 14th) I will be at Scrapbook Centrale teaching a Copic Coloring Class on fur! It should be tons of fun. I always enjoy my classes. The ladies that join in are so NICE and so much FUN!

Sketch Saturday Week # 176

Happy Saturday! We have beautiful weather here, which is perfect as it is Thanksgiving weekend! We plan to clean up our yard and do some winter prepping as you never know when the next good opportunity will arise :)

My card today is for this week’s Sketch Saturday challenge and it was perfect to use with this new Lil Pinkette Pippa stamp that is one of Tickled Pink’s new Birthday stamps. Isn’t she adorable? I {heart} her freckles. I colored her up in a fresh and happy color combination of pink and green that were drawn from this Basic Grey patterned paper. I forgot to take a picture of the little tag (metal die from WoJ) that pulls out (doh) but it says “From you to me” and is stamped with a Stemplegelde grunge stamp.

Happy Friday! I have tons to share with you today! So I will keep the chatter to a minimum.

First off, I have my first card from Whiff of Joy’s new release to share with you. If you love the adorable little gnomes then you will love these new images by Norma Fickel. Just adorable. This sweet little boy gnome holding his star and the little mouse reminds me of the book “Le Petit Prince” and I had to create with this image first :)

I had a look of little pieces of October Afternoon patterned paper left over. I {heart} all their lines and how well they all go together. I added a lot of machine stitching and then had some fun with the red& white bakers twine and some cute buttons. The image was colored with Copic Markers and then masked and airbrushed for a soft look. I am entering this card over at the Papertake Weekly Challenge as the theme is Anything Goes.

The second card that I have to share with you is for this week’s La-Land Land Crafts Inspiration Friday. This week the theme is “Dots”.

I have used one of the new images that are on pre-order at the moment: Big Panda Marci. She is definitely a real cutie and I decided to color her big panda hat to make it look nice and nubbly! I used a fun embossing folder with circle and just one scrap of DP. The circle background was created with a new WoJ clear stamp. The sentiment is one of my favorties and is by Verve Stamps.

I think she is so sweet and she was just crying our to be colored up in a lovely shade of rose-pink :) I found some old magnolia papers the were a perfect match and I totally went wild with my embellies!

Tickled Pink Preview Day 1

Happy Thursday! I have a fun birthday card to share with you today. It is Tickled Pink’s 2nd birthday and to celebrate, they are releasing Lil Party Pinkette Girls! I generally preview Tickled Pink’s other line the Lil Lads & Lolitas but when I saw these images…..I just had to play with them.

Introducing Lil Party Pinkette Coraline! I love her hair….just like mine with I was young. I ALWAYS had a band like that or 2 plaits. I went with one of my favorite color combos: blue& white. The DP is from my scrap drawer and then I added the frame using my SU! Top Notz die. I stamped it with a Hero Arts background birthday sentiment and then added the “Wishing you” is by Verve stamps. The balloon is covered in stickles (which are not quite dry) and I added a little circle slider.

Happy Wednesday! Once again, I am a little behind in sharing my cards with you. It has been a busy week in our household and I have been busy keeping us all afloat! The kids will have a few days off from school as we celebrate Thanksgiving on Monday. I am looking forward to some time to relax :)

Catch-Up Sunday

Happy Sunday Everyone! I cannot believe it, but the whole family slept in this morning! I cannot believe that even the kids slept in! The youngest one was the first one up and he came into our room and announced that it was day-time and he was hungry! I think the rainy and cold weather played a part in our sleepiness, but it was indeed lovely to have a long lie-in like that!

I have sooooo much to show you that I don’t know where to start! So this is going to be a long and picture heavy post! Let’s get started.

First, I’d like to share with you by card for this week’s Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge. The sketch is by Erica and we are being sponsored by Hobbyshop Nellie Snellen!

I have used this sweet Magnolia stamp that I have had for such a long time and hadn’t had the chance to ink up. I decided to color her with some traditional Christmas colors and create a Christmas card. I love that you can do this! The paper is Simple Stories 6x6 25 days of Christmas pad. I added some gorgeous iridescent taffeta ribbon from May arts to dress the card up a wee bit.

My second card today is for this week’s Sketch Saturday challenge and we are being sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps! I have used another of the Pink Ribbon images for my card. These images will be available come 4th of October and there are matching sentiments as well. All are $1 each ONLY for all of October and are only going to be available for a limited time. All sales will go straight to supporting Pink Ribbon Day. This one is called Lil Pinkette Charity.

For my third card, I am showcasing another of the Pink Ribbon images. This one is called Lil Lilith. I adore her strong attitude and I paired her up with one of the matching sentiments; “Fight like a Girl”. I went for a simple, no fuss card and I am happy with how the image is showcased this way!

Finally, I have a card that was a commission for a friend. She wanted a wedding card for her sister. I of course reached for this sweet LOTV image and I used the sketch from this week’s Papertake Challenge.

In this photo, you can see the matching envelobox that I created for the card and it has captured the shimmer on her dress!

La-La Land Crafts October Release & World Card Making Day

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is off to a fun start! I have decided to show you 2 cards today and then I will show you another two (for Sketch Saturday & Pink Ink) tomorrow!

Well, the wait is over and I can show you 2 of the new releases for October from La-La Land Craft Stamps! It is an awesome collection and I am sure you are going to love all the sweet images!

Although we are showcasing the new images on October 1st, they will be on pre-order starting October 1st with a ship date of October 15th.

Happy Friday! I have been working like crazy for all the upcoming releases that are happening. Not that I am complaining about all the gorgeous images that I have had the pleasure to work with but my house is going to need some serious tidying up! Pink Ribbon Lil Pinkette Hope

Happy Friday! This is my first post for today! LOL! I will be back later on with another! I’ve been a very happy, busy little bee! I am scheduling this post and keeping my fingers crossed that I am getting it up on the correct time and day….these different time zones make it easy to slip up! Speaking from experience, I am!

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope your week is going well so far :) Now, I was supposed to post this card on the 27th which of course it is today…except that it was for Tickled Pink and they are based in Australia and they are a day ahead of us…so I am late! ACK! At least I was able to get it posted up on the blog yesterday when I realised my mistake. Tricky stuff being on Design Teams in different time zones! LOL!

Happy Monday Everyone! Well, once again we are beginning a new week and it is time to share my card for this week;s Stamp & Create Product Spotlight! this week, it is my beloved Whiff of Joy stamps that are being featured! For this week you will receive a 25% discount on a selection of these amazing, adorable stamps!

For my card, I colored up the sweet Rapunzel stamp with my Copic Sketch markers. The sentiment comes with another stamp and was heat embossed with white powder. I machine stitched around the two mats for a little added interest and tied a gorgeous silk ribbon with my bow easy to complete the card.

Sketch Saturday # 174

Happy Saturday my dear friends! Today I have my card for this week’s Sketch Saturday and I was delighted that my order from SCACD came so quickly! I was able to use one the new stamps that I bought. This is called Princess and is illustrated by the very talented Sylvia Zet.

I knew that I wanted to create a Christmas card with this image so I pulled out my new Bo Bunny Father Christmas paper pad and chose my papers and from them I drew my color palette and marker choices. After I colored her with my Copics, I added a slight shadow with a Prisma color pencil (Sand) and added some sponging to the edges of the circle with Distress Ink (Antique Linen)

I did a little machine stitching around the edges of one paper and them added some pretty roses and leaves that were cut out from my paper scraps using a Martha Stewart punch. The ribbon is from Stampin’ Up and I added a Whiff of Joy pearl brad to the center. I think it really adds a fun touch to the ribbon and it ties in with the pearls that I added to the corners of the second paper matted square.

LaLa Land Crafts Inspiration Friday ~ Embossing Dry or Heat

Happy Friday! Once again it is time to show you my take on La-Land Land Crafts Inspiration Friday.

This week the challenge is to use Embossing: dry or heat whichever you prefer. I chose to use heat emboss the sentiment for my card. I love how this looks on this simple banner.

My card was made using sweet Fireman Luka. Such a fun boy stamp and as you can see by my sentiment, this card is destined to me a birthday card for a little guy! The papers were all scraps from my scrap drawer that were perfect for a whimsical card. To keep the card from being too plain, I added that silver brad to the corner as well as paper pierced my two smaller rectangles. I will be teaching with this image next week over at Scrapbook Centrale!

Copic Coloring Tutorial

Happy Wednesday! Hope your day is off to a good start. I have created a lot of tutorials for the blogs of different companies and I thought I would start sharing them here with you. They are all available at my YouTube channel ~here~ as well.

For the videos today the image that I am working with is: I Heart U Monkey which is illustrated by Dustin Pike.

I stamped my image on Neenah Solar Crest White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Stamp & Create Product Spotlight & Blog Candy

Happy Monday! The sun is shining, my kidlets are off at school and I am taking a break from my laundry and cleaning to write my post! We had such a fun and action packed weekend and I have a ton of photos to go through from our Apple Picking outing. It was a wonderful day and the apples were crisp and delicious. Now we have a humongous bag to go through but I have a feeling it won’t take long!

My card for today features one of my most favorite crafting tool: The Bow Easy . If you don’t have one, believe me, you need one and this week they are on sale at 25 % off over at Stamp and Create! Honestly, it will change your world! LOL!

I used the sweet Blush Bonnie stamp form The Greeting Farm for my card. I love her wavy long hair. It was so much fun to color! I paired her with paper from a Kaiser Crafts Class of '87 paper pad and a luxurious silk bow made with May Arts Ribbon and the Bow Easy. That bow literally took less than a minute to make and there was no fiddling about with it aftewards either!

Here is another picture. Sorry the color seems to be a bit off. I’m not sure why. The first picture is a true representation of the colors in real life. I wanted to show you the little card that I made using a combination of PTI stamps and Technique Tuesday(the words). A fun little addition to this school-themed card!

Wee Witch Hazel

Happy Sunday! I know! Another post from me! I told you I have been busy. Today’s card is another Halloween-themed one and I have used on of Wee Stamps’ digital images. The minute I saw this one, I knew I had to have it and I literally had it within a few minutes through the magic of my computer and the ease of digital stamps! Don’t get me wrong, I really still do prefer rubber stamps but you can’t beat digis for instant gratification. Here she is:

Wee Witch Hazel was colored with Copic Sketch Markers and then I created a very light shadow around her using a Prismacolor pencil crayon (Sand) and some OMS. The ground was created with a Cool Grey pencil crayon. I sponged the image panel with some Peeled Paint distress ink. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey’s Eerie paper pack. Since I printed the image up fairly large, there wasn’t really too much room to add a whole bunch of embellishments without covering up too much of the DP so I searched through my stash to find this Fancy Pants transparency. It was just absolutely the perfect finishing touch!

I did take a photo prior to adding the transparency so you can see the image more completely:
