Happy New Year –Whimsy January Release Day #1

Happy New Year and Happy Tuesday!  During the holiday season, I never seem to know what day of the week it is! Hopefully I will get back into a normal routine in a week or so after the kids get back to school.  For now, I am enjoying relaxing a hanging out with them!

Today is Day #1 of Whimsy Stamps January release and it is an awesome one! Here is the card I made using 3 of the new release products.

The cute whale is from the new Whale of a Time clear stamp set and was colored up using Zig Real Brush markers.  To create the background, I sponged various Distress oxide inks (listed below) to create a soft and graduated color change.  I let them sit for a bit to dry and then I lay the new Speckled Heart stencil over top and added embossing paste.  I always love lifting up the stencil to reveal the finished look and this one was so pretty!  I wanted it to look like the bubbles in the water and I think it really does lend that effect to the card!  Finally, although it looks super intricate and complicated, the sentiment was created using the Thanks Word and Shadow Die Set.  It is a set of three dies.  All I did was to diecut them with different colored cardstock and them adhere them together.  Super easy!

Distress Oxides used: Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch.
