Whimsy Mermaid Meredith Shaker + Coloration Video

Happy Friday! Hope you are having a fabulous week! Whimsy Stamps is starting to give sneak peeks of their awesome new June release! You are going to love it….I know I do!

Today I have a share card to share with you that features the gorgeous rubber stamp image illustrated by Mi-Ran: Mermaid Meredith. This image was so much fun to color. You will find a coloration video a little further down.

This shaker card also features some of the new patterned paper from Whimsy’s Summer Breeze Paper pad. This is one of two newly released pads that are utterly gorgeous. There are also going to have matching enamel dot packs that coordinate with the paper packs. So much crafty goodness coming your way!

I used the two larger dies in my set of stitched rectangles to create the frame for my shaker card. I used the new patterned paper, Fun Foam and Stick It to create a raised frame that was super easy to assemble. I basically attached the Fun Foam to the patterned paper with the Stick It. This is my first time trying this out and I found that it is truly the easiest and most mistake-proof way to do it. I then adhered acetate that was cut with the larger of the two rectangle dies and then another layer of fun foam went on top of that. Basically the acetate is sandwiched between the two layers of Fun Foam and the patterned paper is adhered to the top layer of Fun Foam! I have filmed a video that will give you a better visual of this technique that I will be posting next week :)

I created the “dream” sentiment using the Fun Foam and Stick it with some Neenah cardstock. They were all layered on top of each other, cut out with the “dream” die from Whimsy and then I just covered over top of the card-stock with some Copic Markers. The same ones I used to color the mermaid’s tail.

Love the net patterned background paper you used for this shaker! Perfect setting for the lovely mermaid you coloured.
