Paper Garden–Mother’s Day Card

Happy Wednesday! It is the middle of the week already! We just sent our middle son off on a school trip! You would think that it would get easier with the second one….but it was still a little hard. He, on the other hand, is pretty excited. I hope he has a wonderful and memorable trip!

A little while ago, Tiffany, from the Paper Garden invited me to join a Mother’s Day card challenge. She was super sweet and even sent my a sample pack of the card-stock that they carry so that I could try it out. I have to say, I am impressed and in love with the swoon-worthy colors and textures!  The Paper-Garden is a Canadian based company and I am so happy to have found out about them! The cards entered can be voted on so I will leave a link for you at the bottom of this post so that you can go take a look at all the entries and vote for your favorite :)

I chose to use the new(ish) Simon Says Stamp clear set: Springtime Flowers. I adore this set and when I purchased it, I just imagined white heat embossing and water-coloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers……..so that is exactly what I did. I will link the markers colors that I used below.

I used some of the card-stock that I received from the Paper-Garden for my card. I used Stardream Aquamarine for the base and Essie Pearlized White for the frame which was cut out using a ME Madison Avenue die.

I stamped the images onto Canson Watercolor paper and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I cut them all out. I am not going to lie…..it took a white BUT I love how it looks on the card against that gorgeous aquamarine color. The sentiment is from an older SU! set: Well Scripted (retired) and was stamped onto the Essie paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut with a long oval from Spellbinders. Just a word of caution. The ink does take a wee bit of time to dry so either wait it out OR stamp after die-cutting. I attached it to the card with a small piece of adhesive foam.
