Confirmation Card

Happy Thursday! Hope your week was fun and you had time to get a little “inky” with some stamps! This week has been another whirlwind with class projects being due and year-end music exams for the kids. I went to a local farmer’s market and bought sooooo much produce. It took me the rest of the day to get it all washed and put away in containers for the fridge. There isn’t an inch to spare in there but I couldn’t resist all the fresh goodness :)

My sweet niece was confirmed this last Sunday and I was her sponsor. It was a beautiful day. Here is the card that I made for her:

The image is from Whiff of Joy’s new Heartfelt Condolences collection. I thought this sweet  Reading Cherub would be wonderful for a Confirmation card as well. After coloring the image with my Copics, I cut it out with one of the new Spellbinders dies. I have been using this one tons because I just love how it looks. I left the cardstock in the die and lightly sponged using Tumbled Glass Distress ink.

I didn’t use any patterned paper for this card. I created this lattice effect using a Studio Calico/Hero Arts stamp with Versamark and Filigree White embossing powder and then sponging with the Tumbled Glass ink. I was so pleased to see that this Whiff of Joy ribbon is such a perfect match for my favourite Distress ink shade :)

I added a sweet butterfly that I cut out using one of the trio of Whiff of Joy’s butterfly dies and I added some pearl brads to the top corners.

The inside was decorated to match and I generated the text using my computer. I have blurred out the names of my niece, children and hubby for their privacy :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
