Waiting for Spring

Happy Thursday Everyone! We had such a lovely day yesterday. The boys and I did some serious shopping :) We have two birthdays coming up and as they get older, it is a little harder to just go on my own and get something for them. I ended up buying their presents for them and they are super happy:) As it is March break, they each got one present early so that can play with them now. I also totally scored at Costco….I picked up the HBO series  of A Game of Thrones Season #1. I actually started reading this epic series of books at Christmas time and didn’t even know that it was a mini-series! Which wouldn’t have really made a difference. I NEVER watch something if I haven’t read the book first. Something I have instilled in my children as well. No movie is ever as good as your own imagination! I just finished the 4th book in the series and now will have to wait for the 5th to be released. I’ll bide my time while watching the mini-series….hopefully I can rope hubby in as well! I totally got him hooked on the Tudors when it was on! My other Costco score was a set of Denby dishes! Sigh! I love their stuff and could not believe the price of the set….so it came home with me :) On top of all that, we had a super warm-spring day! It was such a welcome change from the cold and when we got home, we saw (and heard) the Canada Geese flying in the air. Once they return from the south, we know that Spring cannot be far behind!

So, enough of being chatty….I want to share my newest Whiff of Joy card with you :)

Henry bee flower

This image is one of my faves from the February release. I just {heart"} Henry’s expression as well as that cute little bee! I paired the image up with some pretty paper from MME’s Lost & Found Sunshine paper pack. I am in a real “yellow” mood these days and this pad has some really gorgeous patterns and tones of yellow. The clouds were punched out with some Fiskars punches and then stamped with a Studio Calico set. I heat embossed and then sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. I added them to the card with some foam adhesives to add some dimensionals.

The image was cut out with a Spellbinders circle die and while the die was still on, I sponged with the Tumbled Glass. The doily was die cut with a Cherry Lynn die and the ribbon, brads and flower are all from Whiff of Joy.

Here is a side-view for you:

I am going to enter my card into the Papertake Weekyly Challenge: Anything Goes theme!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Love reading your blog. Glad to know you gage the seasons by geese overflys. Living near the Chesapeake Bay the geese were flying over on Monday. Made me smile to know that spring is just around the corner.
