Double Challenge Friday

Happy Friday Everyone! I for one, am glad that the weekend is upon us. It has been such a busy week and I am tired. I had many meetings to attend this week and so I lost my evenings!

This week it is my turn to host the Friday Sketchers Challenge. It is always nerve-wracking for me to come up with a sketch and so I hope that you like this one and perhaps be tempted to play along! Of course we have a lovely sponsor this week (Simon Says Stamp)  and that may provide some further temptation! LOL!

Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 194 this card is available for purchase on Ebay ~here~

I was one of the very lucky winners of dear Anki’s Hanglar candy and this gorgeous image is one of the ones in my package! Thank you sweetie!
I started with the image and then pulled out some papers from Basic Grey’s Cappella pad. I love the soft greens and blues and thought it would be a wonderful palette for my image. I added some stickles to the ornament for that little touch of bling and I used some Brushed Corduroy distress ink and the WoJ Christmas swirls to create some interest around the border of my image. The flower is Prima and was in my stash. I layered my ribbon using first some ivory crochet lace and then this gorgeous rose braided one. I love how vintage it looks.

Here is my little sketch:

Be sure to check out all the samples that my fellow DT sisters have created for your inspiration.  As always they have totally rocked it!

My second card today is for the Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge which this week is diamonds and pearls.

I used the very sweet Toby’s Big Day for my card and went with a standard A2 format for a change. The pearls are Martha Stewart and I used Diamond Stickles to meet the diamond requirement! The paper is some very old SU! that I still have in my stash and am trying to use up.
Please join us in our challenge. We would love to see what you create and there is always a wonderful prize up for grabs!
Well, that is it for me today. I have a bunch of things that I want to get done around the house today and I hope to spend some time in my craft studio working on some new cards to share with you all next week! Have a great day and thanks for swinging by!
