Whiff of Joy Winter Kit Scene

Whiff Of Joy - Page 136 Happy Monday Everyone! It is the beginning of the week and I have a lot to get done because I am leaving on Friday for my annual “Girls Weekend”. About 12 of us all head down to the states for some cross-border shopping. We stay through until Sunday by which time we are about to drop! We always have such a fun time and it is nice just once a year not to have to worry about anything or anyone for a few days! I have however been warned that my shopping stash last year was severely lacking in clothes and foot apparel and entirely too well loaded in craft goodies! As you can tell, my friends don’t all share or understand the allure of paper and ink! HeHe!

So, I have to get all my DT cards ready and the posts scheduled by Thursday night! Oh me oh my! Not to mention getting everything ready for poor hubby who will be carting the whole lot to all the hockey games on the weekend, doing homework, meals, all by himself.

Today I am showing you a card that I made using one of the gorgeous stamps from the WOJ Winter Kit. If you ordered it, it should be dropping into your mail-boxes very soon. If you didn’t pre-order (aren’t you just kicking yourselves) don’t worry. They will be available to order individually very soon.

I created a scene card for this stamp. You all probably know how much I love creating scenes.

Whiff Of Joy - Page 136 The image was colored with Copic markers and then I added some Shimmerz to the red part of her gown/coat. The hat and muff were covered in Fun Flock to make them look like fur. The snow on the trees was covered in liquid appliqué and the background covered in glitter. Then I added stickles to each of the snowflakes! Whew! I know that it sounds like a lot of steps (and it is) but I enjoy the whole process of making the scene come to life. I stamped this wonderful sentiment (also from the Winter Kit) on the top of the wooden door.

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Winter Kit, Background by Alota stamps
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU! Chocolate Chip, Cosmo Cricket DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers
  • Embellies: Felt Ribbon by SU, Stickles. Dazzling Diamond Glitter, Liquid Appliqué, Bling from stash

Thanks for stopping by and I want to let you know that the Whiff of Joy Tutorials & Inspiration  blog started yesterday with a fabulous tutorial by Katharina herself. She shows you how she gets her images so gorgeously colored with Twinkling H20s! I am going to be watching it a few more times and then maybe I will be able to color like her! There will be a few tutorials a week and I have made one that will post on November 5th!

Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I used to go to a weekend women's retreat with my church (which also included shopping), but I had to miss the last 2 times. This year it's in my city, but hubby has to work that weekend so i may have to miss again :-(

I am practically camped out at my mailbox waiting for my WOJ kit! I've cleared my weekend to play, play, play!! This is so gorgeous and you colored her perfectly! I have a feeling this will be as much a favorite as last year's Willow with a Lantern. Your scene is magnificent! I can almost feel the snow flakes hitting my nose! Very well done!!

Hey, have a terrific weekend! Sounds like fun!
