Friday Sketchers & Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenges

Friday Sketchers - Page 045

Happy Friday Everyone! My first card that I have to show you today is my card for this week’s Friday Sketchers. This week it is the amazing Jacque who is hosting and she has come up with this fun sketch for us all to play along with. We have a gorgeous prize this week from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design so I hope you’ll find time to play along with us!

I used some of my new stash for this card. The lattice is made from a new MS punch that I picked up. I believe it is called Garden Trellis and it is a pretty big punch but the ends fold in and that makes it easy to store. I added little dabs of liquid pearls for a little something extra and wrapped some ribbon along the periphery as well.

The image is one of WOJ’s new little Gnomes and was colored with copic markers and then I sprayed the whole panel with shimmerz spray. I just love the effect that it gives although I could so without the way the shimmerz smells……pretty icky. I am just glad it doesn’t smell once it is dry. Can you imagine opening an envelope and getting that odor?

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Uru and Bird
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Papers: SU! Red Riding Hood, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
  • Embellies: Liquid Pearl, Snowflakes form Michaels, MS punch, Papertrey Ribbon

My next card is for this week’s Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge. We have another yummy prize up for grabs! This week it was Tina’s turn to pick a challenge and she chose “stitching” real or faux. I went with faux. I pierced all around the edge of my card and then with a ruler and a black fine tip sharpie, I just made a line. I think it looks pretty realistic although not true to my sewing abilities. If I had actually sewed it, the lines would just be wonky! I can’t get the knack of sewing on paper. With fabric I am pretty good so I don’t know what the problem is.

I added some Twinkling H20s to some of my coloring and you can see it better in this photo. I couldn’t resist adding the cute crown to Bella’s head and I just had to attach the  gorgeous spacer and adorable purse to the pink ribbon! They can all be purchased at Stamp & Create. Lacey has a great selection of wonderful charms and ribbons.

  • Stamps: Wags ‘n Whiskers Furry Friends
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Su Sahara Sand, Basic Grey Sugared
  • Coloring: Copic Markers & Airbrushing, Twinkling H20s
  • Embellies: Metal crown, cap, purse, ribbon from  Stamp & Create

Okay, that is it for me! Please go see each challenge blog; Friday Sketchers and Wags ‘n Whiskers to see the wonderful and inspiring creations of my fellow DT! Absolute eye candy!

Thanks for stopping by!
