Sweet ‘n Sassy Blog Hop Day # 3

Sweet N Sassy - Page 091

Thanks for stopping by today! It is Day #3 of the Sweet ‘n Sassy Blog Hop. I am the first stop for today. If you missed Days #1 and 2, then head over to our blog and start hopping.

It is the end of the 6 month term for the junior team so SNSS is losing members and gaining new ones. I am thrilled to announce that a couple of months ago Korin asked me to stay on with Sweet ‘n Sassy and join the Senior DT. I enjoy working with the team so much and am so grateful to get the opportunity to continue to work with these wonderful stamps, so I agreed!

For my card today, I have used one of the June releases entitled “ Light of the World”. I love this light house image and wanted to create something a little different. I colored the light house and rocks and then masked them. I airbrushed the sky using different blues and yellows and a little hint of coral. I airbrushed the sea using deeper blue tones. I then covered it with Versamark and added UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder). I heated it with my embossing gun and then repeated the process another time. Next, I put it into the freezer (where my very puzzled husband found it a little later) and then bent it so that it would crack. I sponged a little sepia ink over it to emphasize the cracks. I am really happy with the way it turned out. I would love to know what you think. I know it is a little different from my usual style!

  • Stamps: Sweet ‘n Sassy Light of the World, Background on bottom layer is Cornish Heritage
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Sepia
  • Paper: Stampin’ Up Brilliant Blue, Sahara Sand
  • Embellies: SU ribbon in Baja Breeze

The next stop on the hop is the one of our new amazing DT members Lorie . Happy Hopping and I will see you tomorrow with my DT card for Friday Sketchers!
