Blessed

Whiff Of Joy - Page 079

EDIT: This card is now sold. Thank you.

Yesterday, was Mother’s Day here in Canada and my husband and boys gave me a wonderful day! They let me sleep in and when they finally couldn’t wait any longer (8:00 AM) they paraded into my room bearing gifts that they had made themselves. Their faces were beaming and I my heart felt very full and I knew I was so lucky to have such loving and sweet boys!

We had a full day and played board games, went on a long bike ride (although it was so cold) and then I finally played Mario Kart with them on the Wii. Let’s just say, I drive a whole lot better on real roads! We were laughing so hard because I kept being smashed by obstacles and kept falling off cliffs. Of course the more I laughed, the worse I was! I even had a little time in my craft room and so I worked on some DT cards that are due this week and this one! It reflects how I feel. Blessed with a very loving husband and children.

I used the sketch that my sweet friend Katharina created for this week’s WOJ challenge. All of her sketches are simply amazing and are such a fantastic starting point for a card. I used this serene WOJ Willow stamp and slightly modified it. Originally, she is carrying a lantern and has Christmas berries and leaves and such on her dress and lantern. I just cut the lantern out placed a heart charm instead and I strategically placed some pearls and bling on her dress to cover up the Christmas. I left my Copics on the shelf and pulled out my Tomboy pens and watercolored with them.

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow with Lantern 2008
  • Ink: Stazon
  • Paper: SU Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Basic Grey Porcelain
  • Coloring: Tomboy Markers and Aqua Pen
  • Embellies: SU Ribbons, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Dollar Store Heart Charm

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend as well and Happy Mother’s Day to you all!
