Whiff of Joy POM ~ Easter Gift

I am so excited to be participating in Whiff of Joy's project of the month or "PoM". This month the project is to create an Easter gift. Of course the first thing that came to my mind was chocolate eggs!

It wasn't hard to pick the images that I wanted to use. The sweet Easter Basket was part of the Spring Kit (you can purchase it as part of this accessory set now). The other image is one of the newly released Guardian Angels: Melinda with Bouquet. I have to admit, is my very favorite!

I found a wonderful tutorial for the box here at the Scor-Pal site. Of course, being me, I have modified it slightly. First, instead of an ornament, I have filled the box with chocolate. I also changed the rectangular opening to an oval and shortened the handle by 1". For the window itself, I used the acrylic sheet that comes with so many of the clear stamps that you buy. The handle is attached with gemstone brads. The butterfly was made with a Stampin' Up die. I cut it out twice and glued the pieces wrong sides together so that I could create a 3-d look. For the body of the butterfly I have used some adhesive pearls and I used flower centers from a Prima flower kit to creat the antennae.
The images are colored with Copic Markers. Here is a close-up:

  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: SU Certainly Celery, Basic Grey Porcelein DP
  • Coloring: Copic Markers E000, E00, R20, R81, R83, R85, W1, W3, B000, B00, E31,E33, E35,E37, E51, G40, G82. Highlight on cheek created with a gel pen and sparkel added to the scarf and waistband with a sakura gel pe
  • Embellies: Tafetta Ribbon from stash, Dollarama Gemstone Brads, K&Co adhesive pearls

I hope this has given you a little inspiration. The box is very easy to make and it makes a really nice little Easter gift. You should visit the WOJ site to see all the gorgeous ideas that the DT came up with. They are just AWESOME! It was a little intimidating to upload my project!

Enjoy!

Dear Jeanette

I love chocolate but if I had to decide between the chocolate eggs or the Easter basket, I would immediately go for the basket. ;-)) This is such a beautiful present! The papers and the way you colored the image are adorable! Great work! Thank you for your inspiration!

BIG hugs
Pati
