Day 1 of the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog Hop

Today is the first day of the Sweet 'n sassy Blog hop. If you check my side-bar to the right you will see all the links in the order of the hop. The first stop is the SNSS blog and then you just follow along. My day is tomorrow but I have been playing with the new sets so I wanted to share a couple of sneak peeks with you!

We are doing things a little differently this time. During the 3 day blog hop, there will be challenges posted on some of the DT blogs. There will be 4 challenges AND each challenge will have a prize of one of the 4 new sets that are being released this month. All participants will have until April 10th to post their cards and you will be posting them to the SNSS gallery!

The first challenge is a Sketch Challenge hosted by Suzy....winner gets the Be Blessed stamp set.
Here is my take on her wonderful sketch. I have used the new Dream Silhouettes set.

I have used just one stamp from this incredible set. I wanted to do something a little dramatic. I used Stampin' Up Whisper White, Black and Soft Sky cardstock. I embossed the Soft Sky paper with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and my cuttlebug. The scallopped border is made using the Scallop punch by Stampin' Up. The image is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and the ribbon is by May Arts. I made the butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch and the black paper.

There is a second challenge today. It is a Bird Challenge hosted by Chris....winner gets the Dream Silhouettes stamp set. You need to have a bird somewhere on your card.

I have used the new Spring Scenes set. This is also a fantastic set and one that I'll be reaching for time and again to create backgrounds for my stamps but as you can see; you can also use it to create a focal image for your card. I created this scene using the masking technique. I just love that sweet bird and colored him a wonderful blue to match my cardstock. the sentiment is one of many in the new Birthday greetings set. It is also great and has sentiments that range from sweet to elegant to just palin funny! I used SU Bashful Blue, Whisper White and the Salebration DP on this card. The ribbon is also from the Salebration collection and the gemstones are from the local dollar store! all coloring was done with my handy dandy copic markers!
Whew!!!! It has been a big posting day for me....and guess what? I'm not slowing down!!! I am going to have more SNSS sneak peeks for you in the following days and much more!

Each card is wonderful in it's own way. Just love the butterfly accents on the 1st card and the 2nd is such a sweet card.
