Be Still

One of the challenges for the SNSS Release Party was Suzy's 3D Tole Paper. It's okay...I really didn't know what that was either when I first saw it!!! Suzy clarified it for us. It is when you stamp an image a few times and cut out certain pieces to layer upon each other. My card has parts with 2 layers and others have 3. If you look closely, perhaps you'll see that the doe's head, some of the closer rocks and grass are raised. I also raised the sentiment up with dimensionals to balance everything out. The effect is really beautiful in real life. It is hard to capture it on a photograph.

Here is a side-view to give you a visual of what I mean:

This card is pretty special to me as I drew the inspiration for it from my Mum. I think she would have liked this card very much. One of her favorite hymns was "Be Still My Heart". I remember how touched she was when I sang this at a concert in an eight part choir of 80 members! I remember how proud I was to be singing something that meant so much to her! She was fond of deer as well and I have selected her favorite shades of rose and soft green for this card.

The background behind the deer was created by using my Copic Airbrusher. I used a pink (R20) and a green (YG63) and just brushed in circles to create this look. You can't overthink it...you just have to go for it! When I airbrush, I cut the image out using my Nestabilities and then I leave the die on the paper. That way, after I air-brush and take the die off, I have a nice crisp white border all around!
Here are the Copic Markers that I used:

Wow! This was a long post! If you are still here, Thank you for stopping by and taking the time! Have a wonderful day my friends!
